Just back from watching the mighty Jonathan Douglas strut his stuff tonight..he scored playing for his new side, League 1 Swindon town- who beat Luton in a friendly this eve..(Got my first gig as a Blue Square Premier and Luton Town match reporter before you ask)

....Finally found his level against non-league opposition it seems! :D

Not Jon Douglas, the guy picked by top managers and the "international footballer" that gives it 100% every week?

:D Oops - sorry folks!

Got the Leeds tickets from the new store downtown which saved a trip out Ewood way or waiting for the post. Had to go back twice though as the lad who had the key to the box they keep them in had gone on his break and taken it away with him! Ah well...teething troubles.

Iv been before, but I didnt stay over so need some help. How far is Sheff Weds ground from the City Centre night life? Where would I be best staying when we go there, so we can go the match and then on the p!ss later?

Going Leeds on saturday too, Bewleys hotel just down the road is booked.

Hillsborough is 2/3 miles north of the city centre, but the tram runs between the two. I would stay in town and just take the tram up for the game.

Anyone stayed anywhere nice they can recommend here?

Right in the centre there is a Premier Inn and an Ibis I think. Both OK, clean and you know what you are getting. Should be the cheaper option.

As mentioned above, the tram goes pretty close to the ground. From memory the stop to get off is the one before Hillsborough and walk through the park to the ground. They'll be quite a few on the tram going to the game so just follow the masses I guess.

Not sure about pubs round the ground though

Please can someone confirm the situation with the trains to Leeds this weekend? I have been on the national rail website and there doesnt seem to be a problem.

I am on crutches so I need to plan my journey from Blackburn with military precision (!). The official coaches and Ewood Blues coaches are full, so trains are the only option but I dont want to end up stranded.

Cheers.

Apologies - get off after Hillsborough. Either Hillsborough Park or Leppings lane (closer)

You can get there, but there is a bus between Hebden Bridge and Bradford. You can go via Manchester, but you'd have to walk from Victoria to Piccadilly, as the normal Leeds train from Victoria doesnt seem to be running.
