McCarthy has been bland, Roberts has worked hard and had one of our only real opportunities but couldn't do much with it. Diouf has shown quality and drive. N Zonzi almost cost us a goal, anyways only 45 minutes of pre season action and Leeds probably isn't the most exciting of fixtures for our players.

and we're seeing this in the game... and yet some poeple are saying we're going to struggle without even knowing who we're going to buy in.

the lack of funds doesn't really help.

we don't even know yet how hoilett is going to do? he MAY be our answer to the right side. we also know di santo is coming in with another striker (poggy?).

my point is that we shouldn't be worried if we win or lose in a pre-season game but where the mistakes are being made and how to fix them. also getting a good runout.

Will Hoilett play on the wing or up front? Elrio will surely play on one of the wings, interested to see which one. Would like to see Doran replace Andrews and N'Zonzi to get a full game. Judge maybe on the right and Gally/Hoilett up front.

Not sure how many subs will be made at half time though.

thats 1... you can look through the thread and you'll find more.

If we don't strengthen midfield with some real quality I think we'll struggle this year. And everything Sam has said has indicated that's not a priority.

That's even without the thorny question of whether we actually will see "a big summer signing" to replace Roque. We can't manage with two strikers.

Take out Robbo and the defence and that starting line up and bench would struggle to impress in the Championship imo.

Come on guys it could be worse. We could support Newcastle, who are losing 4-1 Leyton Orient!

Or Super Man City, losing to Kayser Chiefs, or Pompey, unable to score against lowly Basingstoke.

People read too much into pre-season form.

That being said, let's bloody score in the second half!

Oh and Rev, you're missing Emerton, Grella and Dunn from that midfield. Of course it looks average.

At the game. Best players of our 1st half, Diouf, givet n NZonzi. Givet solid as usual, Nelsen not as solid. Jacobsen hasn't been troubled either.

Diouf has been very good, benni ok, Roberts just hard working as usual

Big Sams not on the touchline either.

I'm sure pretty sure if we sign a decent target man, we'll finish mid-table or better. I would still like us to improve the midfield, because we need a Plan B for when the hit and hope doesn't work out.

True, but will the latter two ever be fit?

And Emerton has never really payed CM before.

True, I ranked them in order of fitness (leaving off the least fit, Mr Reid, completely).

I think Brett will be looked at as a permanent option in the centre, particularly if Jacobsen is decent at RB.

we could've equalized. roberts shot saved, came out to Diouf who came so close, his shot tipped over the bar.

We almost give away a penalty, free kick just on the edge of the area, good save from Robinson previously.

EDIT: Free Kick Goes Wheeee over the bar and into the big club supporters :lol:
