Fraserkirky Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Irrelevant. Hearts are a bigger football club than Hibs in terms of status, size and support. Always have been. Long term stability ain't a considering factor in determining what is a bigger team??????????????????? Bullshit ,you don't know what your talking about. I would regard status as security and Hearts are in danger of becoming extinct really soon(see Leeds). what do mean status? Hell of a state if you ask me! Size ?????? Same size stadium in a huge city. please state why you think Hearts are a bigger size club than hibs. Easy to drum up support when your finishing 3rd every year by spending beyond your means. jim, please expand?

Hughesy Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 £10 for Adults, got mine earlier today. Hopefully, get a glimpse of Di Santo. Kalinic won't be able to play as he hasn't recieved his work permit yet. Di Santo should be fine to get going - he has played a part in Chelsea's pre-season Kalinic could possibly play as 'on trial' until thursday like some other clubs have done.
Bobby G Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 There is no way Kalinic will be involved in this kind of friendly. Cant see it Hughesy, until his permit is done.
Hughesy Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Not sure - Di Santo should be playing according to the official site.
Majiball Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Hearts will survive somehow. Di Santo better play he's the whole reason for going.
MarkBRFC Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Hearts will survive somehow. Di Santo better play he's the whole reason for going. Maybe Ellington will play.
Fife Rover Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Irrelevant. Hearts are a bigger football club than Hibs in terms of status, size and support. Always have been. Oh really Jim. I wonder why Hibs have a much bigger ground than Hearts then? And please don't try and tell me they haven't; I've stood on the terracing at both grounds many, many times, and there really is no comparison.
Majiball Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Maybe Ellington will play. Now there's two reasons too go.
rovers1995 Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Does anybody know what the expected attendance is for tomorrow night
MarkBRFC Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Does anybody know what the expected attendance is for tomorrow night The home freindly before the start of the season hasnt drawn well for years, i'd guess between 5 & 10k
Hughesy Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 5-7k at a guess. Rumours of 2000 Hibs fans making the trip
Majiball Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Really only 5-7K TBH be honest I'd hoped there would be nearer 15-18K to see Di santo play??
cn174 Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Really only 5-7K TBH be honest I'd hoped there would be nearer 15-18K to see Di santo play?? Really?! We rarely get that many on for cup games until the very late rounds, let alone for a friendly on Wednesday night, Di Santo or no Di Santo!

That`s like saying "I came 3rd!!!"....but in a 3 man race Hearts/Hibs/Aberdeen/DundeeUtd are all similar 'in size' clubs.......but are only the size of the smaller championship 'town' clubs like Barnsley & Preston etc....attendance-wise. I`m no expert, but in my memory (1980s onwards) Hearts have been the more successful club in Edinburgh. BTW....i have no loyalty to either club

millionpints Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 It's pay at the gate for the United game on Saturday in case anybody's interested, £12 adults, £8 concessions. Dundee are playing Morton at Dens (literally across the road) at 3, so there's a chance to get 2 games in quick succession for those who decide that a tactical delay to post-match drinking might be a wise strategy (I don't tend to adopt such sensible strategies though)
JAL Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Really only 5-7K TBH be honest I'd hoped there would be nearer 15-18K to see Di santo play?? Your having a laugh Majiball. Di Santo HAS IT ALL TO PROVE .
MarkBRFC Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 To be honest i doubt we would get 18k for this fixture even if Messi was playing. At the moment, Di Santo is a nobody and i doubt too many people will turn up just to see him play.
Majiball Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Really?! We rarely get that many on for cup games until the very late rounds, let alone for a friendly on Wednesday night, Di Santo or no Di Santo! Never been up here for pre-season before so never been along, Burnley had more than that on saturday (5-7K). I thought as its our first and only home game more would come. Oh well 7K it is then. Your having a laugh Majiball. Di Santo HAS IT ALL TO PROVE . Quietly confident on that one having watched him twice last year, but he could flop you never know. Very highly rated in footballing circles so we'll wait and see. Moyes wanted him badly and settled for Jo again. The oppurtunity to watch him is enough for me to travel along so assumed others would too. I just thought more would come to see him play for the first time purely out of curiousity.
Majiball Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Jal's sound I have no issues with him and have swapped one or two PM's. Don't forget Jal once touted me as a Rovers manager, how could I not like him after that!!!

Don't forget Jal once touted me as a Rovers manager, how could I not like him after that!!! Get him signed on, that's manager and touted as the new coach yesterday, huge saving on wages (2 for 1) as good as Aldi.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Just get your tickets and enjoy the evening
Majiball Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Get him signed on, that's manager and touted as the new coach yesterday, huge saving on wages (2 for 1) as good as Aldi. Aldi??? Come on, surely I'm at least in morrisons league if not lidl.
