DeadlyDirk Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Tom from west Sussex lol, how did he manage to get a question answered after being banned from every rovers site in existance. Tombo, wsr, west Sussex rover, benmaxwell and erinbrown all in one person lol It was also nice to see Gunther send in a question, didn't know he followed us. (You might have to be a cricket fan to work that one out) Wonder what he's doing in Marseille?
Big Fat Sam Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 David Pleat in todays Guardian says Givet "are unlikely to be big hits". Best get to specsavers, David.
Ricky Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 I couldn't think where I knew Andre nel from lol, that's explained it to me. Amazingly our friend tombo is indeed 25. You could always search for him on wikipedia as well. Seems to have set up his own page on there which may have been 'tweaked' by someone at some stage
LeChuck Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Tom from west Sussex lol, how did he manage to get a question answered after being banned from every rovers site in existance. Tombo, wsr, west Sussex rover, benmaxwell and erinbrown all in one person lol Haha, was he those two as well? I remembered really disliking those two when they first appeared...I always feel bad for doing so with new members so try to refrain from posting to them before giving them a proper a chance. If I'd known it was him I would have pulled him up on every stupid thing he said! I wonder what his next attempt will be?
Big Fat Sam Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Cheers Ricky all I got where generals and the such. He's quiet a smug looking fella. I also like his playing position. Whoever wrote that has a wicked sense of humour, nice.
RibbleValleyRover Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Not sure what slagging off someone who can't respond has to do with Gael Givet and his recent Q & A session... Sounds like Givet is a decent bloke, some good questions and answers.
1864roverite Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 I think old DP must have said something like "that gail has got big t*ts" referring to the prostitutes on offer down Main Street, he obviously has been misquoted
Ricky Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 He wrote it himself and put it in the public domain. As with all wiki's it can then be edited by others, I guess you can work out the bits that have been edited.
Amo Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 David Pleat in todays Guardian says Givet (and Jacobson) "are unlikely to be big hits". An ignorant turd - like most of the pundits he evidently does little research. The same David Pleat who mispronounces the majority of players he commentates on ITV?
robbojohnno Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 I was absolutely delighted when we managed to get Gael Givet in on a permanent deal for such a low price and this meant even when Warnock went much later in the transfer window I didnt have any concerns as whether he is at CB or LB Givet is a classy player. Hes shown he can be a goal threat as he did today and as a defensive player is easily the best we have. To think we got him for such a great deal makes it laughable that Warnock can go for £8million or Richard Dunne for £6million. Hopefully we can keep hold of him for years or if not make a massive profit.
Bobby G Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 I think Givet is past the age where he would be a attractive proposition for most of the bigger sides in this league. Thats great news for us. Fingers crossed!
Fylde Coast Fan Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Givet is quality and deserves to be our first choice LB or CB for the next several years.
G Somerset Rover Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 To think that some described him as an 'okay, steady' defender. This guy is the real deal. Little wonder that the guy has over a dozen french caps. Let's hope he wears the Rovers shirt for a few more years yet - a snip of a signing.
Bobby G Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 He is a steady left back, but an excellent center back. That is without question.
RovertheHill Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 I think he's not the same player since he shaved off his "pretty magnificent beard"
Stuart Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 He is a steady left back, but an excellent center back. That is without question. ^ What he said
Hughesy Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Classy so far this season - 2 goals already too (yesterdays was his really). Bargain signing - well spotted Sam
Presty On Tour Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Please don't give him player of the season this year because we all know what happens next!
