thenodrog Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 So who's going down-Portsmouth,Wolves and Burnley? Stick to 'any of the current bottom 9' and you won't be disappointed. One swallow does not make a summer. Yesterday Lady Luck fortuned us somewhat. Our next 5 league matches are absolutely critical for every team.
they_think_its_all_rover Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 According to the Daily Telegraph, during the Tottenham-Hull City game, whilst someone was down receiving treatment, Hunt went over to Redknapp for a chat and said; "Have you filled out your tax return yet, Harry?"

Perhaps he had but has not listened to Moira telling him the tax people have changed their bank details
jonv Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Santa Cruz is out for a month.. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=727427&sec=england&cc=3436 We got really good money for a crock
Hughesy Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Santa Cruz is out for a month.. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=727427&sec=england&cc=3436 We got really good money for a crock 12 appearances (mainly as sub) for £17m.......very good! The Rovers curse!
bigbrandjohn Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 12 appearances (mainly as sub) for £17m.......very good! The Rovers curse! Hope the deal was not based on appearances. Hughes was so desperate to get him that hopefully he ignored his injury history.
The Rover of Finland Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Roque money was really really good for us. But I would be much happier if we had something left. Or we we would have used it in players.
budha Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Roque money was really really good for us. But I would be much happier if we had something left. Or we we would have used it in players. We've used it on our current players, in the form of wages. If we would've been able to buy someone, then we would've given the money to other clubs. Silver lining?
PAFELL Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Stick to 'any of the current bottom 9' and you won't be disappointed. One swallow does not make a summer. Yesterday Lady Luck fortuned us somewhat. Our next 5 league matches are absolutely critical for every team. Just watched the highlights on sky. The 3 points of course were welcome - a slightly better performance, but not a convincing one. Fulham had the better chances, but didn't put them away. Against a bter team, with better finishing and rovers would have lost. Thankfully luck and the ref was on Rovers side - on another day that penalty claim would have been given - then anything could have happened.
John Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Gold and Sullivan are believed to be eyeing up former Manchester City boss Mark Hughes as a potential new manager.
cn174 Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Gold and Sullivan are believed to be eyeing up former Manchester City boss Mark Hughes as a potential new manager. I'd really go off Mark Hughes if he went to West Ham
gumboots Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 I'd really go off Mark Hughes if he went to West Ham You mean you haven't already. He showed his colours when he jumped ship to City and watching his interviews since, I've often wondered why they seemed so good when he was our manager and so awful once he left and we weren't hearing everything through Rovers hearing aids.
Hughesy Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 West Ham, 105m for 50% Gold & Sullivan Crazy! Whats the deal with this though...it says they have 50% but they have final say on everything. What happens to the £105m? Does it clear all their debts?!
67splitscreen Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Crazy! Whats the deal with this though...it says they have 50% but they have final say on everything. What happens to the £105m? Does it clear all their debts?! Have no idea, it's as clear as mud. Who owns the other 50% though......wonder if there is a third party (silent) involvement.
Hughesy Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Have no idea, it's as clear as mud. Who owns the other 50% though......wonder if there is a third party (silent) involvement. Surely the 50% is still owned by the bank? Surely some of that £105m must of gone on debts - otherwise it would value West Ham at around £250m
Guest andrewpickup Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Gold and Sullivan- more crooks Santa Cruz would not have ended up anywhere else, Money burning a hole in Sparkys pocket. would have got injured again here. good business Hull have by all accounts paid circa half a million to zamalek to secure Zaki loan that Holden doesnt interest bolton, so why should he interest us?
sparkspakespoke Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Flamini to move to City on loan. Would love to see him in our midfield for the rest of the season.
Hughesy Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Flamini to move to City on loan. Would love to see him in our midfield for the rest of the season. Link doesnt work - try this one Good signing, but how many defensive midfielders do they want? Viera, Flamini, Kompany, De Jong....... Also SSN - 10.06 Former Tottenham striker Mido has revealed he could follow his fellow Egyptian striker Amr Zaki in joining Hull City.
67splitscreen Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Maybe the Glaziers aren't that bad after all. More on their dealings from the Guardian. could take 127m next season
LeChuck Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Link doesnt work - try this one Good signing, but how many defensive midfielders do they want? Viera, Flamini, Kompany, De Jong....... You're right, that's ridiculous. Don't forget about Gareth Barry too, he's basically a holding midfielder as well in the 4-2-3-1 they play.
G Somerset Rover Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Your right Hughesy and Le Chuck, that is beyond silly. It's like they're just signing quality players for the sake of it. Flamini would be much more effective than Vieira now so why bother to sign him if this was in the pipeline? Arsenal or even United should have gone all out to try and hijack the Flamini loan deal IMO. Maybe City would swap one of their centre mids for one of our right backs?
gumboots Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Also SSN - 10.06 Former Tottenham striker Mido has revealed he could follow his fellow Egyptian striker Amr Zaki in joining Hull City. Hull obviously trying really hard to get relegated
tcj_jones Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Apparently he's played a number of games at RB this season and City have bought him in to compete both here and in CM. He never should have left Arsenal. Hull obviously trying really hard to get relegated Remember they do play up front togetehr at national level though. They'd probably make a reasonably good pair in the Premier League is they had a decent attitude. With both their careers nose-diving, maybe they'll buck their ideas up at Hull?
