alexanders Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Don't they learn? It is the astronomical wages more than the signign fees who have been ruining clubs like wham, portsmouth lately.

Backroom Tom Posted January 21, 2010 Backroom Posted January 21, 2010 Gotta be ruud I guess. Surely they wouldn't be offering eider that. Also isn't it a bit daft coming out and saying that, all the current players will be knocking on the door after a pay rise tomorrow morning. Yep it's idiotic, next player they approach has a platform for high wages straight away
Hughesy Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Hi everyone - we have £100m debt but we are daft enough to offer out 100k a week and cause unrest amongst our squad!! Quality - the next BIG CLUB
Majiball Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 I'm having a feeling of day ja Voo. Didn't the last guy who bought that club also waste hundreds of thousands of pounds on past it players? That said I'd love Ruud at Rovers for 6 months.
beerwins Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 I actually read the post like this, it took 3 re-reads to get the proper picture for some reason Just been on local radio that Hull City have issued legal proceedings against former chairman Paul Duffen. Also, from Adam Pearson's mouth at a fans forum last night; The KC Stadium is (hopefully) going to be upped in capacity by 5,000 seats. Talks were held about planning with the council last week. also, he lives near Matt Kilgallon and though chose his words carefully, sounds as Kilgallon is maybe signing a pre-contract with Everton. Also to any Spurs haters, you may like this bit; On Myhill vs Spurs Pearson said; Spurs offered some dosh to Myhill a couple of seasons ago before the game, Levy said to him that Myhill wouldn’t have been worth it anyway. At halftime, Levy said that he might have got no2 spot, but wouldn’t challenge Gomes. By full-time, Levy’s missus was kicking off. Pearson announced it was "A proud day".
they_think_its_all_rover Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Sorry, it was a cut n'paste job from the Hull Daily Mail's live tiger chat, who had put up 'minutes' of the fans forum.
Iceman Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 I dont think its Ruud. Is he a free agent at the moment? I can think of a few strikers, but not sure if they worth 100k a week. Huntelaar, Chamakh, Dzeko, Zigic, Nihat, Keane
Backroom Tom Posted January 21, 2010 Backroom Posted January 21, 2010 Adriano maybe? He's well well past it but had calibre but not £100k a weeks worth, wouldn't be too shocked too see him linked to the spammers again
Hughesy Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Van Nistlerooy will be allowed to leave for free - it will be him. 100k for an old horse who is injury prone is risky - reminds me of Bullard again!
gumboots Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Not sure if this has been posted: West Ham's new owner David Sullivan says that the club have made an offer of £100,000-a-week to one striker who is a ''very special player''. Looking at that pink jacket he's wearing on the pics I would have thought he'd be better spending his money on hiring a decent tailor
Hughesy Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 West Ham and Birmingham are both keen on signing AC Milan striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar on loan. Full story: Daily Mirror

Quality - the next BIG CLUB What makes more sense for a club like west ham who need an impact player this season. Pay a class player £100K a week for 6 months = Total Cost £2.5 Million Buy Beattie for £3 Million, 18 month deal on £30K = Total Cost £5.3 Million. If we are relegated we have to find Beattie's wages in the Championship. Plus not much sell on value.

Depends on how long you want the queue of unsettled players holding their agents hand outside of Sullivans office to be Mick. I seem to rem that paying Lucas Neill 70kpw wasn't universally popular amongst his teammates was it?

Whether somebody is on more than them or not. I don't think it will happen anyway but I agree with the principle as long as he is a class player, fit and can make an immediate impact.

Hi im Rob Green, I probably earn 40-50k a week if im lucky - im probably your best player, why is it that you have brough some johnny foreigner in on double my wage when he doesnt even play every week and I do - also im pretty injury free where he has been injured alot lately? Cant see any unhappiness amongst other players can you?!

If you can't we'll drop it to 30k.'
Hughesy Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 My retort would be 'tell you what Robert, if you can find anybody else to pay you 40kpw we'll not stand in your way. If you can't we'll drop it to 30k.' You get my point though...Green, Upson, Parker & Cole will all probably not be happy if someone is earning far more cash than them.
The Rover of Finland Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Is there a striker who doesn´t interest West Ham right now? Hope they want Benni badly enough and pay £2,5M.
Hughesy Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 DINGLE NEWS - He doesnt want to stay! NUGENT HAPPY FOR NOW - BUT ONLY ON LOAN

Cant see any unhappiness amongst other players can you?! If your club has that sort of attitude then you are never going to move on. Players always want more money, doesn't mean they are going to get it. I dont see Man Utd having a mutiny over Ronaldo/Rooney's wages. IF which is a big IF this player is truly class then the rest of teh "big" players can whistle as the last time I looked we are in a relegation dog fight and Upson and Green this season have been very poor and Cole has been sh*te for the past 5 years prior to the last 12 months. Also which other club is going to offer big wages at the moment to them players ? For me they are not a top 4 team regulars.
S15 Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 So a day after criticising the old owners for paying silly money to past it players, the new owners offer Ruud Van Nistelrooy £100k a week? Well done Hammers, you've replaced one set of pig thick owners with another set. Let's see if these ones can finish you off eh?

Yes but would you say Van Nistlerooy @ 32 is truly class? United dont have a mutiny because Rooney is thier best player & therefore deserves the best pay - however im not sure thats the case with Van Nistlerooy - he's a crock!
mickbrown Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 So a day after criticising the old owners for paying silly money to past it players, the new owners offer Ruud Van Nistelrooy £100k a week? Well done Hammers, you've replaced one set of pig thick owners with another set. Let's see if these ones can finish you off eh? G & S are hardly "pig thick", they made a lot of money at Birmingham. I think it would just be a 6 month deal we are not talking about giving a player 1 5 year deal on £100K. Yes but would you say Van Nistlerooy @ 32 is truly class? United dont have a mutiny because Rooney is thier best player & therefore deserves the best pay - however im not sure thats the case with Van Nistlerooy - he's a crock! I don't know for sure it is Ruud, do you ? Apparently there is only 1 english team in for this player as stoke and spurs want Ruud that seems to rule him out......
Hughesy Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 So Van the man comes in for 6 months - bags in every game and ends up with say 15 for the season....will they not then offer him a 2-3 year deal on at least 70-80k a week? Daft! In your position, the owners need to lower the expectation, aswell as the wages! I don't know for sure it is Ruud, do you ? Apparently there is only 1 english team in for this player as stoke and spurs want Ruud that seems to rule him out...... Perhaps its Robinho?! If thats the case - good luck!
S15 Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 They made a lot of money at Birmingham? Good. Let's hope they make a lot of money at West Ham too then. After all, it's every fans dream for a new owner to come in and make a lot of money for themselves. Ps, offering Van Nistelrooy £100k a week, considering he's past it and always injured makes you 'pig thick.' However, it does make you 'Vintage West Ham," so the new owners are off to a flyer. Enjoy the porn.
