RibbleValleyRover Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Sunderland target Salvador Cabanas has been shot in the head: http://www.goal.com/en-india/news/144/south-america/2010/01/25/1760654/breaking-news-paraguayan-international-salvador-cabanas-shot If i recall we were linked to him once?
philipl Posted January 25, 2010 Author Posted January 25, 2010 Paraguay are stuffed- they were looking forward to a great world cup then RSC is permanently injured and this happens. Hopes the lad pulls through.
Bobby G Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 I dont know where this should go but the city of Mexico City has said that Paraguayan international Salvador Cabanas has been shot in the head after a bar fight in the country. He is said to be in critical condition. Wasnt he linked to a move to Sunderland recently? Very sick world we live in.
Steve Moss Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Why am I laughing so hard? http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Dictator-Gaddafi-s-son-in-talks-to-become-Portsmouth-owner-article300941.html
S15 Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 A few things to say on this, but is the last thing he moans about not the reason he wanted to leave England?
alexanders Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Marco Ruben agrees to Join Wigan is he any good? 09.00 Skysports.com understands Fulham have tabled a bid for Egypt international striker Mohamed Nagy. Might not be interested in Beattie then.
67splitscreen Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Why am I laughing so hard? http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Dictator-Gaddafi-s-son-in-talks-to-become-Portsmouth-owner-article300941.html They do say shoit/troubles come in threes. I would absolutely pish myself if the Premier league ever rubber stamp this one.
alexanders Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Sunderland make a bid of £10m for Younes Kaboul. Imscouting
Hughesy Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Sunderland make a bid of £10m for Younes Kaboul. Imscouting All premier league clubs should stay clear of Pompey - why should anyone help bail them out!?
unluckymorton Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Sunderland make a bid of £10m for Younes Kaboul. Imscouting Steve Bruce throwing money around again... Portsmouth are in big trouble financially, wouldn't you think an offer of maybe £4m or £5m would be a better starting block? He's not a bad player but £10m???
DanLad Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 How much money have Sunderland thrown around in the last few years? Next team to do a Leeds/Portsmouth, I reckon.
gumboots Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 All premier league clubs should stay clear of Pompey - why should anyone help bail them out!? was exactly what I was thinking. Give them as little as possible as late as possible.
Hughesy Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 was exactly what I was thinking. Give them as little as possible as late as possible. Give them f all. Then when the creditors move in, make a cheeky offer for any of their better players!
LeChuck Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 How much money have Sunderland thrown around in the last few years? Next team to do a Leeds/Portsmouth, I reckon. Nah they'll be fine, they've got a genuinely wealthy owner in charge, not a fraud or someone borrowing all their money from elsewhere.
joey_big_nose Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Give them f all. Then when the creditors move in, make a cheeky offer for any of their better players! I would hope that we acted with a bit more class than that to be honest. It's only a game, and there is no point in destroying peoples jobs and careers to save a bit of money in the transfer market. Treat others as you would like to be treated yourself.
Ricky Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 I'm with Hughesey on this one (for a change) They lived beyond their means and are paying the price for it. They offered stupid contracts and paid stupid fees. They deserve everything they get.
JAL Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 All premier league clubs should stay clear of Pompey - why should anyone help bail them out!? Cant help thinking that the Rovers board should be checking out what Avram Grant is all about and comparing his skills, knowledge, and contacts, against Big Sams.
Amo Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 All premier league clubs should stay clear of Pompey - why should anyone help bail them out!? Getting worried, are we?
gumboots Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Give them f all. Then when the creditors move in, make a cheeky offer for any of their better players! If you want a player though before the end of the transfer window then you might have to spend and let them have a little. However, it may only be a game but they haven't played it according to the rules and therefore the club deserve everything they get.
Hughesy Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Getting worried, are we? By Pompey?! They are 10 points behind us - get real! As for what's right & wrong......its a dog eat dog world & we should feel sorry for any rival club going down - aslong as its not us!
Amo Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 By Pompey?! They are 10 points behind us - get real! Then why are you so bothered about what happens there?
Stuart Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Then why are you so bothered about what happens there? Who's side are you on? Or are you bored and trolling today TM? Pompey are the anti-thesis of the well-run club that Rovers try to be. We are being prudent and having to cut our cloth accordingly. Why should a club who have so far overstretched be bailed out? Odd that there wasn't all the clamour from the media when Accy were about to go to the wall... North-South divide? Surely not.
Amo Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Who's side are you on? Or are you bored and trolling today TM? Just bemused why Hughesy is so concerned about Pompey earning a few quid, especially when he doesn't consider them rivals.
Ricky Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 TopMan, this thread is 'other premier league happenings' as far as I can see Hughesy is just talking about other premier league happenings so dont really see the problem.
