Majiball Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 Sheikh Ahmed bin Saqr al-Qassimi, member of a ruling family in the United Arab Emirates has bought a majority stake in an unnamed Premier League club. I wonder who?? Pompey?
imy9 Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 Could it be us? The odds are pretty good as the following are not likely to be sold anytime soon: There are probably around 10 clubs in the league that this could have bought, my money is on Everton.
modes98 Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 I doubt it is us as they have bought 60% and aren't the trust after a clean break?
JAL Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 The lure of scottish managers You've got to hand it to the Scots they make far better managers than us English guys. Just hope big Sam can do us English guys proud on October 17th
TheNews Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 I doubt it is us as they have bought 60% and aren't the trust after a clean break? Think your find its Everton They have 3 shareholders, Kenwright holds about 38% leaving 62% with the other 2 investers and its them that could be about to sell
mode_m Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Blackburn sell Roque for 18mil, Derbs for 3 and are looking to purchase Davies while Hull City is looking to purchase Owen? Really?
modes98 Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 I'd leave Hull to that. Injuries have just about killed off Owen as a possible signing. He would have to accept a minimum basic wage and a heavily weighted goal bonus for most clubs to take him.
Billy Castell Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Ben Sahar has moved from Chelsea to Espanyol according to SSN. The fee was undisclosed. I'd post a link but my internet is playing up.
tcj_jones Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Was he the lad at Palace a while back, or was that Scott Sinclair?
Billy Castell Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 I think Sinclair was at Palace, but I don't know where Sahar has been on loan. Sahar is Israeli and a striker, thats about all I know.
Grabbi Graeme Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 SSN reporting that Glen Johnson has agreed a deal to move to Liverpool
tcj_jones Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Ah OK. Don't know much about Sahar, but Sinclair looked quality at Palace, albeit in the Championship.
ffan Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 SSN reporting that Glen Johnson has agreed a deal to move to Liverpool WWhy do they need him when they have Arbeloa or is he going to Spain?
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Because Rafa is skint and is scraping the barrel. I wish we were that skint.
LessThanJake Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Liverpool are spending that because they know Mascherano is going
Bobby G Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 What a waste of money at that much especially when Arbeloa was a solid if not exciting right back. They didnt need a right back. They will fall backwards next season as long as the other 3 of the top 4 dont regress.
tcj_jones Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 That Liverpool seem to adore Rafa I find baffling. He needs three top quality players: RM, LM and CF. All three and I honestly think they'd win the league next season, two and they'd be challanging. Instead, they blow £17.5m on a right back when their defence, as always, was extremely strong last season. In other news, Big Club look set for Joe Hart and Barry Ferguson. I always thought that Ferguson was a very good player before his injury and it will be interesting to see how he performs nexy season.
joey_big_nose Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Robbie Keane to Sunderland will happen What? I thought they were getting Bent?
ffan Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 They want both and Crouch! Redknapp apparently will get Crouch.
EwoodGlory Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Eh?! There has been a few problems in the dressing room since he went back apparently, and the rumours are Harry would be happy to get there money back. Strange one.
