Billy Castell Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Not Premier league, but still worth reading. SSN say that Patrick Vieira is in talks over a move to PSG, and Olof Mellberg has found the chance of playing with Matt Derbyshire irresistable and moved from Juve to Olympiakos for £2.5m.

ffan Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 shame rovers don't share the shame ambition if true I personally do not rate Martins. He scores wonder goals and won't do anything else for a couple of months.
Billy Castell Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Yep. He's quick, but he is worse than Jason Roberts for missing sitters Steven Hawking could put away.
Craigman Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...decide-fee.html EXCLUSIVE !! HAHA Nicko told us this ages ago !
JamieUK Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Man City just spent £5m on bringing in Stuart Taylor?!
Billy Castell Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Apparenly Taylor has moved. Strange move really. Have they sold Schmeichel yet? Found this on the Sky Sports site too. How the mighty have fallen: Brazilian Denilson, once one of the world's most expensive footballers, has abruptly terminated his contract with a Vietnamese club, ending a three-week stint there. And to think I thought he'd go on to become a Haiphong Cement legend. Guess the foundations just weren't laid right.
Billy Castell Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 3 weeks is hardly worth it. You've got to see how things set. Now Denilson has left Vietnam, he won't use his fame as foundations for Vietnamese football.
T4E Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Just goes to show that nothings set in stone. Wasn't he once linked with Bolton? He'd fit in well at the Breezeblock.
Billy Castell Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 His career hit a brick wall after that towering fee when Betis built him up as a footballing collusus.
EwoodGlory Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Man City just spent £5m on bringing in Stuart Taylor?! £5m for a 3rd choice keeper surely more like £500k?
daren Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Rather like Chelsea when Abrimovich was having his spending orgy, Man City's spending can be disregarded when it comes to any standards of what players are worth. It's the real silly season there. And yet, they had more sense than to give Sturrige 55,000 a week Saw a brilliant comment on the Guardian article about that He has the ethics to go right to the top. Lovely kid, really humble. Not at all ahead of himself. Cant get into city's side, so he will be an automatic choice at Stamford bridge. His advisers are rumoured to be brain surgeons. - Carbon Copy, Lisbon, Portugal, 23/6/2009 15:56
John Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 West Ham fend off rivals to land Inter Milan forward Luis Jimenez on season-long loan deal
tcj_jones Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 His career hit a brick wall after that towering fee when Betis built him up as a footballing collusus. He's far from a reputable character either. From what I hear, he's hardly a pillar of the community over there. Apparently, he went mad in a pre-season friendly for the club when a stone-wall penalty was turned down. It's such a shame because he had somewhat hardened in the wake of criticism for joining an 'inferior' league, continually built himself up to the media in preparation for the season ahead and very much cememnted his place in the side. I don't doubt, however, that some of the rumours doing the rounds were constructed by the media.

Maybe he might find a move to Portsmouth with Pompeii (I know it was a stretch) Just to clarify though, he wasn;'t one of, he WAS the most expensive footballer in the world at the time. In all seriousness, what a waste of talent and a prime example of footballers making all the wrong career decisions.
Cocker Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 This may have been posted so apologies if it has. The Owen brochure in full - Click Page 12 is the best - fit and healthy
EwoodGlory Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Rumour's up here are that Nolan is about to sign for Hull, so hopefully the reports linking him to us will stop.
Ronin Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Hmm, they've nicked Barry from Villa, Santa Cruz from us, maybe Lescott from the Toffees. Looks like to me they're weakening the teams who could possibly challenge them for Europe, by going after their better players. Although that would depend on who Rovers and co spend with the Citeh cash.
ffan Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Looks like Kevin Doyle has an offer from Fulham but Sunderland are offering him more money.

modes98 Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Just browsing the interweb and spotted this. Sunderland & 2 others have bid for Huddlestone accepted.
ffan Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Just browsing the interweb and spotted this. Sunderland & 2 others have bid for Huddlestone accepted. Nearly 9 million!! What a total rip of for an overweight average midfielder.
