Yes, didn't he get sent off for that one? Also remember Van Persie feigning serious injury, being carted to the side of the pitch on a stretcher from whence he jumped up, and ran back onto the pitch like Lazarus rising from the dead

And all that time-wasting----------when they're ahead of course. Throw-ins, goal kicks, free kicks--all take an age till they go behind. Add that to all the things Wenger doesn't manage to see if his players commit them and I rate them the most cynical team in the premiership. Neutralises all their undoubted good points for me.

Is this a new competition - Guess the original post?

Have you got there yet gumboots?

I tried to post the above link that wouldn't work to this statement from the Financial Director at WHU. (You might need to cut and paste the entire link).

"Taking on former Arsenal midfielder Freddie Ljungberg, who left in 2008 just one year into a four-year deal, and former England midfielder Kieron Dyer were highlighted as two bad deals.

The pair started a combined total of 32 matches for West Ham since the summer of 2007, and according to Igoe will cost the group £34m over the term of their contracts."

WHU really should crash and burn for such colossal stupidity! Lungberg was a has been and 'Dire' is about as good as his name. When Lee Bowyer belted him on the pitch it was nowhere near hard enough!

West Ham's Accounts for the Period ending 29th May'09 have just been released. They don't make pretty reading.....

http://www.whufc.com/articles/20100301/download-the-accounts-today_2236884_1981121

You need to press the link on the page.

The porn boys made it abundantly clear they were gambling their small cash injection and are willing to walk away this summer. Those accounts combined with Coe not playing ball on the Olympic Stadium keeps West Ham on the danger list of clubs going under. No doubt the porn boys are watching the Pompey administration saga with beady eyes. Does the Sheff U settlement for Tevezgate count as football debt?- WHam will be going into administration in the unlikely event it can be shown not to be football debt.

Small cash injection ? What £50 Million, maybe you should buy rovers if you consider that small. The "porn boys" will not walk away from West Ham its been a life long dream to own this club and by not taking a salary, paying their own expenses and also funding Ms Brady's wages themselves show to me at least they are not in it for the short term.

I dont understand the bit about Tevez and the football debt, can you explain please ?

Gold warns of more PL clubs going into administration.

If the settlement with Sheff U were not considered a football debt, the obvious thing to do would be to put West Ham into voluntary administration now you are pulling away from relegation.

He wasn't talking about West Ham, more likely Hull.

G & S are worth around £1 Billion, they would never let west ham enter administration. They have already said taking over west ham wasn't a business decision but more a decision of the heart.....

Just can't admit you were wrong about them going into administration and keep hoping you'll be proven right.

I think you have got that one wrong. I didn't forecast West Ham going into administration- with a liquidator effectively owning the club they were either going to be sold or broken up. Unlike Pompey there were always serious buyers who could resue the situation around at West Ham.

Incidentally, the £110m valuation of West Ham was a # window dressing. Gold and Sullivan injected most of the cash (£38m) into West Ham as working capital to keep it going with only a nominal amount going to the banks consortium who previously owned 100%. So yes 38+17=55 for 50% but so far as the banks are concerned, they received £17m for 50% and I am certain have been compromised on the terms for relinquishing the other 50% to the porn boys.

Sullivan- West Ham faced Administration

Gold and Sullivan- West Ham fine line on administration

Sullivan on West Ham's financial plight

Sullivan- Financial armagedon if we go down

Sullivan- West Ham were in worse position than Pompey are now

The table on this football economy article shows how bonkers the Icelanders were:

Financial Overview

Year Turnover Pre-tax profit Wages / Turnover ratio (%) Employees

2007/08 71.632m -38.541m 86.2% 864

2006/07 49.427m -21.181m 83.6% 816

2005/06 52.007m 5.733m 54.6% 737

2004/05 25.142m -5.810m 70.5% 162

Thanks for all the links Philip but I have read all that before.

G & S like to big up themselves how they have saved West Ham and that without them they would be in administration.

I admit that if we were not taken over in January the club would have had to raise £30 Million through player sales to see us through to the end of the season, if we did that we would have been relegated if we didn't we would have gone into administration then probably relegated.

What G & S seem to forget that there were 3 more interested parties willing to "save" West Ham. All of the 3 other parties wanted to buy west ham 100% that is why G & S won the bid, it potentially gives the icelandic mob more money long term.

There is no denying the fact West Ham were probably the worst run premier league club by a mile and that includes Portsmouth. The excesses at West Ham even after the Icelandic mob had gone belly up was astouding, Scott Duxbury has a lot to answer for.......

The fact is now that G & S will not walk away from West Ham and now they are at a more fashionable club their little rants about football are getting more press coverage.

Even if they did Tony Fernandes would be there in a second, he has already ruled himself out of owning any other club.

Mick you were giving it large (Is that how you say it down there?) about the icelanders, in Sept you gave me stick when I said you were in deep sh1t financially, you then were forced to eat humble pie and now you are back giving it large about the Dildo brothers.

Tell me

1. Are you happy in the long term that your (oh so fashionable) club cannot apparently survive without huge injections of funding?

2. Do you think you would be holding hands deep in the mire with Pompey if London had not got the 2012 Olympics?

Yeah I too think the Porno boys will sort you out and not leave you in the sticky brown stuff.

No doubt their will be as big a clearing mission as possible in the summer to rid you of your high earners.

Upson is definately on his way and wouldn't be surprised to see Green and Parker go as well.

Parker has been our best player by a mile and would be a great loss as for Green and Upson both have been poor this season.....

I think the whole squad would be up for sale for the correct amount and if they can shift Dyer on a free there will be a massive party at the Boleyn ground.....

I think there will be massive changes to the squad come the summer and hopefully one of them will be Zola with Hughes coming in to replace him.

Would Hughes go to another club with no real money and where he doesn't like the owners? I suppose it depends what other offers are on the table, but i think he might be looking for something better and considering his options given a choice.

I was wrong about the Icelandic mob as I believed what the Chief Exec - Scott Duxbury was saying.

I am not giving it "large" about the Porn Twins at all, they are not going to throw money at West Ham I am just 100% sure they know what they are doing and won't let us go into administration. They were the most boring of the potential takeovers, promising nothing in the way of player investemnt and they have already stated their plan is to buy young players to sell on, and loan foreign players with the potential of buying them if they succeed. They will definately not be chucking money at the club.

The answer to your 2 questions :-

1. Who said it cannot survive without huge injection of funding ? I think our player movements will result in a profit of over £10 million in the summer.

2.Nope, as I said previously there were a number of interested parties in West Ham. Also do you think the Porn twins would gamble £50 Million on us getting the Olympic Stadium ?

West Ham with the Porn Twins in charge will not be spending big and will also be reducing the wage bill by a significant amount.

I think its going to be a boring time being a West Ham fan and I for one welcome that.....

Not sure whether he would or not, but apart from going abroad what are his other real options ?

I suppose there is always Newcastle.

Does Hughes not like the owners ? I don't know that.

If Parker is on his way, then I'd like to think we'd be interested. I've always been a fan of his.

Parker is on too much money for rovers(and west ham), he is on circa £50K a week.
