gumboots Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 Interesting to see that Citeh's site is down: http://www.mcfc.co.uk/ Wonder if they are going to annouce another 3 or 4 strikers coming in Either that or they've been so busy splashing the cash, or trying to that they've forgotten to pay the electric bill.

B.R.F.C Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 Don't know if this has been posted elsewhere but Darius Vassell travelled to Turkey for talks with Ankaragucu and got this http://www.sporyolu.com/components/com_fps...es/vassel_1.jpg http://www.sporyolu.com/images/stories/vassel2.jpg http://www.sporyolu.com/images/stories/vassel5.jpg http://www.sporyolu.com/images/stories/vassel6.jpg http://www.sporyolu.com/images/stories/vassel7.jpg http://www.sporyolu.com/images/stories/vassel9.jpg http://www.sporyolu.com/images/stories/vassel12.jpg http://www.sporyolu.com/images/stories/vassel13.jpg Do they not realise who they're signing
brian_gallagher85 Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 I love the "Hands in the air" and "You are more than a player" one's
Amo Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 http://www.sporyolu.com/images/stories/vassel5.jpg And he gets his own harem? I'm surprised more players aren't relocating to Turkey.
Doaksie Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 Maybe the Turkish fans 'youtubed' his name, and watched the first entry, ala. Villanueva. There is plenty of Turkish in the comments section! Here it is: Might have gave them a bit of a false impression.

Lurid Coat Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 Sean Davies' move to Pompey collapsed so he is apparently Bolton-bound. Going to make the Notlob derby a bit more tasty. This also points to massive problems at Pompey if they are unable even to land a free non-contract player. I still can't get over this, absolutely hysterical. Nominated for post of the year! Sorry, Phil, but the thing that makes it so funny is that you're normally an insightful poster who generally knows what he's talking about, and then you come up with this gem As for the Vassell pictures - comedy gold.
Exiled_Rover Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 Utd have lost out on Benzema too. How the hell are Real Madrid funding this, they're buying everyone!
Amo Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 Man. Utd should have written a clause into the Ronaldo deal that Real Madrid cannot target certain players. I don't know if that's even legal or been done before, but hey.
brian_gallagher85 Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 A lot was made of the £80m "straight" bid in all the reports about the Ronaldo deal. I can only guess that Fergie thought he had robbed the Bernabeu bank and they'd have no cash for other deals.....
ABBEY Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 talksprouts has been reporting owen having talks with manure oooops just seen it in the rovers transfer thread...confused you wont be doh
Majiball Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 AC Milan season tickets sold so far??????? 400 Rovers to have more season tickets holder than AC!
frosty Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 AC Milan season tickets sold so far??????? 400 Rovers to have more season tickets holder than AC! There has been big protests about Kaka being sold and some other things, so fans are staying away for a while I think.....
Backroom DE. Posted July 2, 2009 Backroom Posted July 2, 2009 There has been big protests about Kaka being sold and some other things, so fans are staying away for a while I think..... Can't blame them tbh. Selling Kaka and replacing him with Crouch
cn174 Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 They do protests quite well over there. A couple of seasons in the Milan derby, the Inter fans including all the ultras just didn't turn up at all in protest of having a bad season. The few fans that did turn up displayed banners criticising the team.
Majiball Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 There has been big protests about Kaka being sold and some other things, so fans are staying away for a while I think..... The protests have made interesting reading, but even so only 400. Thats a serious drop don't they normally have over 30/40,000. Even though United sold Ronaldo they'll still sell all there season tickets. I think its going to be quite an interesting situation, what will happen if Pato and Pirlo leave as well? The ultra's are seriously hardcore though, but I didn't think all of their fans would stay away.
jim mk2 Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 Daily Torygraph also reporting that Owen is joining ManU.
Backroom DE. Posted July 2, 2009 Backroom Posted July 2, 2009 Guardian reporting the same. Nicko said it was not going to happen... but the papers seem convinced it is going ahead, and most of the betting markets have been suspended...
EwoodGlory Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 Transfer markets are always closed at night. People at St James think he's signing for them on a 1 or 2 year deal.
philipl Posted July 3, 2009 Author Posted July 3, 2009 Transfer markets are always closed at night. People at St James think he's signing for them on a 1 or 2 year deal. I doubt he's going to Exeter. Going to Man U is a big enough surprise.
RibbleValleyRover Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 Anyone want to bet Owen will be the top scorer next season? He has his injury problems but he scores goals when he plays. If they can get 15-20 or more games out of him next season he will bang them in with the quality of service he will get there.
modes98 Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 according to sky he managed 31 games 2 seasons ago and 32 last season. That's not awful, and as you say with the quality of service he could be in for a decent return.
