gazza, platt, des walker all did well in Italy. Mcmanaman was arguably better at Real than at Liverpool, and Beckham did quite well also. Owen and Woodgate where quite popular at Real.

I agree totally but the reality is this Rooney is the only player who can excell in the future. The others are tried and tested FAILURES on the ultimate stage.

I'd take a chance on him if I was West Ham though. At his wages, its only a 2.5m transfer fee (equivalent to). They paid as much for Fat Benni.

I know Veron didn't work out in England, but he did not play in his normal position. The Argentinian league is very physical, yes he would need some time to adapt but he's absolute quality and stands as good a chance as any signing we were to make.

I hope some English club does manage to snare him.
