Roberto Policano Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Torres would never go to Real. Lifetime Atletico fan. They would kill him if he moves. Barcelona is another story though. However, as always money does talk. Agree totally Bobby,Theres no way Torres go's to Real.

The Gull Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Am I allowed a Taff? If so then John Charles. Linekar and Keegan did OK and Owen Hargreaves peaked at Bayern. gazza, platt, des walker all did well in Italy. Mcmanaman was arguably better at Real than at Liverpool, and Beckham did quite well also. Owen and Woodgate where quite popular at Real.
HemelRover Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 English players are technically inferior to those on the continent. That's why nobody signs them. All this talk about the Premier League being the greatest in the world is only because it has all the dough. Name one English player who's come close to repeating his success on the continent? Ringing very true at this point. Sadly.
1864roverite Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 If anything, the current dross donning our England shirts have done their level best to drive down the prices of English players. Out of the current 23 players, only Rooney is worth taking a punt on. I have never ever seen such an inept display by players wearing the colours of my country.

He was one of the worst of the lot.
1864roverite Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 WIP I agree totally but the reality is this Rooney is the only player who can excell in the future. The others are tried and tested FAILURES on the ultimate stage.
67splitscreen Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 With all the players currently all over the world, I doubt there would be much buzz going on especially before pre-season! One last clue, the player is NOT English. Kuyt. (as in bird - buzz-ard)
Bobby G Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Good shout on Kuyt. But its not him. I "think" someone may have mentioned him already although I could be imagining things cause I'm drooling over the prospect of the upcoming match.
LeChuck Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Looks like Fergie has got another wonderkid at Man Utd, what a goal by Hernandez; he's looked brilliant all tournament.
Commondore Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Good shout on Kuyt. But its not him. I "think" someone may have mentioned him already although I could be imagining things cause I'm drooling over the prospect of the upcoming match. Whispers about John Terry around the forum...
Bobby G Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 What a signing Javier Chicarito Hernandez is by Sir Alex. He would have easily cost 10 million had he waited till today, but instead United have saved about half of that. On a side-note, Man City are looking to make a move for Donovan.
ffan Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Whispers about John Terry around the forum... Not after todays performance

I thought United did pay £10m?

Owen and Woodgate where quite popular at Real. Keegan at Hamburg, Woodcock at Koln, Waddle at Marseille, Hoddle and Hateley at Monaco I think they paid 5-6 million pounds. Either way, he could be a steal
mick Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 so it is tevez to madrid. city will miss him but not mancini! i still think that he will be joined by mascherano.
Majiball Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Well if they don't want him? If he really only wants that sort of money, which funnily enough is 2.5M a year then sod the goal scorer I'd have him. He'll score goals.
Bobby G Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 The porn kings thought that he would "rather" play for them over Man United, and play for 10k a week I reckon, huh? For God's sake in this era, if he really only wants 50k a week, he is a steal as a player. But not sure if he can make it in England at his age.

Bobby G Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 I'd take a chance on him if I was West Ham though. At his wages, its only a 2.5m transfer fee (equivalent to). They paid as much for Fat Benni.
Majiball Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 I know Veron didn't work out in England, but he did not play in his normal position. The Argentinian league is very physical, yes he would need some time to adapt but he's absolute quality and stands as good a chance as any signing we were to make. I hope some English club does manage to snare him.
