Hannah Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 I wonder where it will leave Ray Lewington who has looked after the club preseason ? What about Billy McKinlay who is reserve team manager there?

philipl Posted July 31, 2010 Author Posted July 31, 2010 Seems highly probable that Bellamy is going to Fulham.
philipl Posted July 31, 2010 Author Posted July 31, 2010 Contrary to all perceptions on this MB, Spurs have a pretty rigid wage structure and they stick to it. Sparky talked Bellamy to Rovers so I certainly would not bet against him talking Bellamy to Fulham. In fact I bet Sparky used the "thinking" time before he said yes to Fulham to tap up a bunch of prospects. I'd be suprised if Sparky and JW have not spoken in the last few days- they formed a lasting friendship and Sparky respects JW's opinion.
RevidgeBlue Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 Seems highly probable that Bellamy is going to Fulham. If he does he must have lowered his expectations in old age. At the evening with Robbie Savage at the Hordens a while ago Savage said that whilst Bellamy enjoyed his time here Savage got the impression that Bellamy thought being at Ewood was beneath him and in his view Bellamy would have left for a "big" club at the end of the season no matter how much money we'd have offered him.

His career will go down as lost potential. For me, he was out best forward post-Shearer, top quality on his day. However, What has he achieved? Apart from a vast income?

I think the same comments could have been applied to Bentley.
thenodrog Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 However, What has he achieved? Apart from a vast income? So there I was, sitting counting my winnings from the casino on a bed in the best suite in the best hotel in town with a glass of vintage champagne in my hand and the current Miss World getting showered in the bathroom and the waiter said.... "So George, where did it all go wrong?"

Seems to have afflicted many of our better players recently. Santa Cruz, Benni, Bentley, even Warnock...all wanted to get out as soon as a bigger club came in. We just have to accept that we are a place where players can re-start careers after having had problems at another club. Ultimately, it makes us plenty of money in the long run...
Ricky Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Exactly FLB. If it works for us then so be it. Target youngish players who can get back on track and let them leave for big fees when they have been successful. Not very many of them have actually excelled at their new clubs and they all seem to speak about rovers with fond memories which should help us when signing new players. Just a shame that we can't even seem to buy these players at the moment.
philipl Posted August 1, 2010 Author Posted August 1, 2010 Stoke are in for Jo. Seems he divided opinion amongst Toffee supporters- some thought he was very good at retaining posession and link-up play but their midfield is very mobile in getting forward.
tcj_jones Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 I really want to see us move for Jo. City must be so desperate to get rid that they'd virtually give him away. He'd most likely be available on a loan, so the wages would be the only stumbling block. Bring him in for a season on big wages and then look to replace him next summer. He must have a point to prove and he's get us out of an awful fix. Let's not forget he cost around £15m only a few seasons ago.
Majiball Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Hammers want 20M for Ashton Was a decent player but 20M, come on.
thenodrog Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Hammers want 20M for Ashton Was a decent player but 20M, come on. WHU = All mouth and trousers thesed days under the dildo twins. Flash Arry's and nowt else. In the news every day, linked with all and sundry but there's never any real substance to any of it. No doubt it's all to sell ST's and rev up the eastenders.

I just don't get it though, Henry, Beckham, Riquelme, Cole and many more have been supposedly interested in coming. Yet they have signed Piquonnine & Hitzleburger, hardly the same class. If I was Karen Brady I'd get my double dong and shove it in their mouths to stop them gobbing off.

Isn't the name Ronaldinho being bandied about around Walford today or was it my imagination?
Amo Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Did anyone see Inter Milan's third goal against Man. City? What a cracker! Too bad it was a pre-season effort.
Steve Moss Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 Crouch allegedly out of the Spurs for 7 million? http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-news-Peter-Crouch-is-heading-out-of-Tottenham-and-possibly-back-to-Liverpool-or-to-Fulham-article543377.html
philipl Posted August 2, 2010 Author Posted August 2, 2010 This is a smart way to force the Americans out of Anfield!vi
67splitscreen Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 Klasnic, released by Nantes, mutual consent, yeh! right. Notlob to pick up the tab no doubt.
whiteinpeace Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 Klasnic, released by Nantes, mutual consent, yeh! right. Notlob to pick up the tab no doubt. Not unless he drops his demands. He's gone back to Germany apparently having talked to us, I presume to see if he can do any better financially elsewhere in Europe. Asking for a big signing on fee as well now he's on a free so I've heard. I hope we can do a deal with him, as long as it makes financial sense, as otherwise we'll probably have the second worst forward line in the premiership, only above Blackpool!
roversam Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 anyone no if tevez turned up for training today?
LeftWinger Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 ..otherwise we'll probably have the second worst forward line in the premiership, only above Blackpool! We've just had to play Pedersen as a lone striker in a friendly. We've got two strikers, one of whom is injured, the other is Jason Roberts. Don't come on here moaning about strikers matey

Don't come on here moaning about strikers matey We're in very similar positions I'll admit it. The difference is you can be set up to keep clean sheets. We lack that capability hence finding a capable striker is crucial. Also Sam will only play one up front. I think Kalinic will be good for you guys this season!
dudedog Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 anyone no if tevez turned up for training today? no idea, thought he was off to real madrid?? allegedly he did show up
