Carraghers a thick, grade A, overated prize muppet.

He is but he's right about Souness' performance at Liverpool. Look back at some of the signings he made. Just awful. The most powerful and successful club in British football, arguably in Europe, went backwards at a rate of knots.

And have never recovered.

Could the Rooney story not have waited a week?

The press always states how more papers are sold after an England win, funny way of drivng sales for Wednesday morning then!

You what?! The papers publish stories at the time most people will be interested in them? Meaning they'll sell more papers?

Madness. Couldn't Rooney have just not cheated on his wife multiple times with a prostitute?

Always liked Coleen, more like the girl next door rather than the endless parade of X Factor wannabe's, glamour models or Big Brother z listers.

He on the other hand is an overrated, over paid, granny shagging chump from Croxteth.

Take him to the cleaners love.

And he doesn't sing the national anthem, tw*t.

Oh because Rooney wouldn't be an issue next week?!

The rag papers are sitting on a load of kiss and tells.

To be honest don't even know why I'm posting, he can sh@g who he likes.

According to that article he met her in the same casino Bellamy11 assaulted Steven N'Zonzi in earlier this year. I'm not sure that place is really safe for Premier League footballers.

The man needed that kind of kick up the backside. :D He scored the best goal of his career a fortnight later. Coincidence? I think not.

The rot had already set in post Heyschel imo. Kenny presided over a declining force but Souness's reign saw the curve of that decline suddenly steepen.

Wanna bet she'll still be Coleen Rooney in a year's time?

Is Elin Nordegren still Mrs Woods after their divorce?

Indeed. Do people even care? Really?

Morally I have an issue with it, but perhaps I am too old fashioned.

Not surprised really if these rumours turn out to be true, I had a certain impression of him before these allegations came to light. If they end up true then it looks like my belief and viewpoint was right and has been further reinforced.

Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Friedel and full-back Stephen Warnock will seek urgent talks with the club's hierarchy if they press ahead with their plans to appoint Gerard Houllier as manager - when in charge at Liverpool, Frenchman Houllier sold Friedel to Blackburn and loaned Warnock out to Coventry.

What a horrifying experience it must have been playing for little old Rovers, eh Brad...?

I read your observations Tom on the potential appointment of GH. I wonder how you and Trent Villa are feeling now it appears he has been offered the job ?

I dont think either BF or SW are liklely to be affected y the appointment it is just typical newsopaper crap with no substance whatsoever. I cannot recall any criticism when the players came to Ewood about either Liverpool or GH.

phil thompson to be his assistant ???

i hope so. get him off soccer saturday. :P

i despised 'hula hoops' liverpool but think he could do a fine job at villa.

football has changed and become more cautious and defensive counter attacking football using big target men, is the norm. houllier was really the 1st manager to implement these philosophies.

maybe he was ahead of his time ? just a thought.

Tbh, Rooney doggin' a prossy isn't even a sensational story anymore.

Prem footballers are gonna have to start sticking it in each other to stay on the front pages.

That's a rather graphic thing to have on the front pages!

I think I can speak for everyone when I say that no-one wants to see these sorts of things splashed around...

For the Villa fans...I don't think Kevin Mac will work with Houllier. So it will be the Frenchman plus whatever coach he can find.

The horrible big nosed scouser from Gillette soccer saturday one hears through the grapevine...

It's a crying shame K-mac won't work with Houllier, he's been here 16years, whilst I appreciate the brilliant job he's done as academy and reserve manager and the effort he put into stepping in when the poison dwarf did a runner, I can't help but feel a bit let down that he's going as soon as he didn't get the job (assuming he is going) if he was that arsed about it he should have applied straight away rather than fannying around for a month before he decided he fancied it.

Kevin was the one of the nicest footballers I ever had the pleasure of dealing with. His teams are also always good to watch.

Perhaps he does not feel it would be right to work with the new manager in an odd marriage of convenience.

He was fannying around a bit, but that is just his way. He thinks quite deeply and maybe too long. He's from the Highlands and they move at a slower pace up there.

Quite glad he won't be a manager - espeically at a time of cutbacks and possible disappointment. Too good a man for that.
