Presty On Tour Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 ffan, are the Fulham supporters confident of victory in your opening day game against Pompey? With Portsmouth in trouble and Fulham fit and ready after their european qualifiers, I don't think you will get beat at Fratton Park.
EwoodGlory Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Looks like this is definitely happening. £4.5m seems a bit high, he looked decent on Saturday though. Something is going on at Newcastle in the next 24/48 hours apparently. Takeover talk and also Skybet released a statement saying Kinnears odds went from 16/1 down to 3/1 today.

Hangeland seems to have his head elsewhere, he didn't play that well in the Europe games, Hart will have his players fired up. I'd like to think we will win but I think they have a decent chance.
BiggusLaddus Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Paul Hart and Peter Storrie have apparently admitted on local radio that they don't think the Pompey takeover will happen. Have they sold enough to get their debts in order, or are they on the way to administration?

Have they sold enough to get their debts in order, or are they on the way to administration? There's a rumour going around down here that another consortium could be in line to take over Portsmouth. Maybe Nicko might know more.
M2XLY Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 has anyone heard anything about bosingwa? i heard a that he may be off to Munich, can anyone shead any light on this?
philipl Posted August 14, 2009 Author Posted August 14, 2009 Paul Hart and Peter Storrie have apparently admitted on local radio that they don't think the Pompey takeover will happen. Have they sold enough to get their debts in order, or are they on the way to administration? This almost certainly means administration. I believe they still have a massive debt hangover. It will definitely mean bye bye to al the remaining big wage earners within this window. Not surprised- the guy who was supposed to be buying is running the biggest lame duck operation in the Middle East.
Hughesy Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Sunderland set to go for Distin & James according to the papers!
BiggusLaddus Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 http://www.portsmouth.vitalfootball.co.uk/...le.asp?a=165772 Report on what was said on Radio Solent. It seems they were remarkably candid, even with topics that they don't come out of very well at all (like selling Crouch for £9m when there was a £12m bid from Sunderland on the table).
Eddie Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Having said that, their loan signing of Vanden Borre could be a very good move.

they_think_its_all_rover Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Hull City announce talks with Sol Campbell incase Turner leaves, also announce interest in Andreas Hinkel of Celtic to replace Sam Ricketts.
Tango Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Not quite Premier League, but Newcastle have signed Danny Simpson on a season-long loan. God help them.
mickbrown Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Kovac signs for West Ham, a very average player at best.
1864roverite Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Winkers of Bolton have signed some Korean chap on a 3 year deal.
rog of the rovers Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Gutted, didn't know Sylvie had breast cancer! Hope van der Vaart comes to the Premier League, he's a class act. I wouldn't be suprised with Arsenal or Spurs as I seem to remember he has some Jewish heritage, or may even be Jewish himself.
RibbleValleyRover Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Moyes gives an aggressive press conference about Lescott and puts Hughes in his place:
American Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Arsenal also seem to be having problems with bums in seats. They've been calling around to London companies trying to sell corporate packages for the season.
ffan Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Steven Taylor for 3 million? EXCLUSIVE: Steven Taylor to have Blues medical on Monday By Ian Phillips • Aug 14th, 2009 • Category: News | You are here: Home -> News -> EXCLUSIVE: Steven Taylor to have Blues medical on Monday FollowEverton sources understand that Newcastle United centre-back Steven Taylor will have a medical at Finch Farm on Monday prior to a move to Goodison Park. The fee is unknown as of yet but is expected to be around £3 million. Newspaper reports claim a move for Philippe Senderos has broken down and Everton have moved swiftly on to sign defensive cover. Moyes stated today that he hopes for some new additions “within the next 48 hours” Taylor is known for being a passionate player who’s commitment shone through in the European U21s championship in 2007 where despite having a bad injury, Taylor, the captain, played on through extra-time and scored a penalty, though England went on to loose the epic shoot-out. http://followeverton.com/2009/08/14/exclus...ical-on-monday/ In other news, Nugent apparently on 40k at Pompey?
ffan Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Lescott replacement? The Senderos deal apparently fell through, who was going to be brought in as competition, so maybe Taylor will be brought in as competition rather than as a replacement?
T4E Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 The Senderos deal apparently fell through, who was going to be brought in as competition, so maybe Taylor will be brought in as competition rather than as a replacement? They dodged a bullet there.
RibbleValleyRover Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 They dodged a bullet there. Indeed, awful defender. Moyes is probably bringing in Taylor just in case a stupidly high offer comes in that they can't refuse or as a backup option if Lescott becomes unsettled again in January with some more Sparky tapping up. Though i don't think he will be in the job come January to be honest.
EwoodGlory Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Steven Taylor for 3 million? They won't sell him for that
