After two defeats in their opening three games, Liverpool are going to have to do well in their head-to-heads with the big clubs or, otherwise, have a near impeccable record against the others from here on in.

To think there were people out there who actually tipped them for the title! They weren't good enough with Alonso, and they're considerably worse without. Take Gerrard or Torres out of that side and they'd struggle to get into the top six!

Id say Liverpool now face a massive task of just being in the top 3 or 4 now.

- Already 6 points behind Chelsea!!!

- 3 behind Arsenal who have a game in hand!

- 3 behind United despite them having a bad result too!

Also more worrying for them is that Spurs have already opened a 6 point gap, and City have 3 points gap + a game in hand.

Says the man who ripped into me for saying something similar about Man United after a couple of bad results.

The difference being - United have had 1 bad result, which is normal for them.

Liverpool have lost 2 games, which is very bad for them, and is a massive blow to them. They needed to get a good start as everybody knows that United go from strength to strength, especially around Christmas.

Liverpool havent been there and done it, United have!

I know its not Premier League but Sol Campbell given a 5 year deal at Notts Co, yes 5!!!!!! year deal for a 34 year old! Madness!

Why's it madness? County are flush and they needed to make the offer of dropping down 3 divisions appealing to an ex-England international.

That can't be right surely, Newcastle must still be paying huge wages to the likes of Coloccini, Nolan, Barton etc.

On SSN they were on about a salary cap in the mower leagues, but apparently there is some loophole which gets Notts County around this, they did say what is was but can't remember it now, it could have been something like giving him money as a present or something like that.

SSN reporting that Portsmouth have agreed a fee with Watford for Tommy Smith, Watford have already agreed a fee with Reading, Portsmouth seem to be making some strange buy's after offloading some good players.

Portsmouth are screwed. Replacing Crouch and Defoe with RTommy Smith and Piquene(sp).

Going down.

Millwall came to Hull in the cup last year with the sole intent of causing trouble - pulled up seats in the stadium and threw them at Hull fans.

The complete disgrace is that about 15 Hull City fans went to jail for defending themselves, whilst 1 Millwall fan was sent to jail - the rest got a fine and a slap on the wrist!
