Well, he's a Rover now, welcome Elrio, look forward to seeing what you can do.

Take no notice of this lot, they'd find something to moan about if we signed Messi

Give the lad a chance, for goodness' sake.

From Rovers Mad.

"I'm a fan of Bruges.

I can tell you that we are pretty surprised that Elrio has signed for a team of the Premier League.

Elrio had so many injuries in his 3.5 years at Bruges.

Last months he was injury free, but he didn't get a chance of our coach.

Elrio was a very popular player at Brugge, and a lot of fans wished he would stay, that the chairman would give him a new contract.

But due to his many injuries, they wouldn't take that risk.

Elrio is a player with a good technique, and he is pretty fast. He can play on the wings, but he prefers to play in central midfield, behind the attackers.

He will have to improve his training mentallity to be strong enough to get a chance in the Premier League, because he wasn't the player that would stay a bit longer on training to improve his condition.

Hopefully he can get injury free in your strong hard competition.

Greets"

Let's just hope he can do the business and not a replacement for Dunny's bed at the infirmary.

He tore a cruciate the season before last.

Lets not forget we have a pretty special physio department at Rovers that involves linky's with specialists in the US and Germany...

If anyone can get the best out of him, it's big Sam and our physios...

I think he has a little bit more physics and a lot more pace than Carlos Villanueva.

Hopefully he can dazzle them with his quantum mechanics skills. lol.

Who wouldn't moan if we signed him!!!!!!

Benmaxwell can I ask what makes our physio department so special???

Happy enough with this, theres potential there and little risk in real terms.

The potential reward far outweighs the risks on this one, I see him as our carlos replacement for less money.

Welcome Elrio.

It's massively up to date. Well regarded as one of the best physio departments in the league. We have all kinds of unique forms of equipment. We have experienced and young up and coming physios... Not to mention a new physio who Sam will probably be bringing in from his Bolton/Newcastle days this summer...

Like i already said, we have specialists we send players to in Germany and America...

Elrio is as quick as Lennon, but can cross a ball. He has had injuries, but like i said will probably be a good squad member. Those posters from Denmark are being harsh, he was still young at the time and still establishing himself. At only 25, and free its a very good bit of business. We got nothing to lose, if he does well we can sell him for a big fee.

They can sign a pre-contract agreement, but can't play or be officially recognised as a 'whatever' club player until the day the transfer window opens...

i'm skeptical about whether his knee has fully recovered. Pacy players often need 100% healthy legs to do what they do best. Seems a cheap gamble to me. Hopefully, his wages aren't too high.

I'm happy with this signing. Even if he's not built for the rough and tumble premierleague, how many times last season were we crying out for something different on the bench and we had to bring on Doran or Treacy because they were the only options we had. I can see this being a shrewd bit of busines by Sam.

Ticks the boxes Sam wanted in terms of lowering the age of the squad a bit and introducing a bit of pace. Just wonder if Sam was a little disappointed with Diouf towards the end of the season?

Whether he's the sort of player who could walk straight into the first team, we'll have to wait and see. Can't see too much point in signing a load of "squad" players. We need quality above quantity.
