Backroom Tom Posted December 18, 2009 Backroom Posted December 18, 2009 Wow I thought he may stay, Sam obviously doesn't rate him. Maybe a loan would be beneficial to us
Steve Moss Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Doesn't rate him or wants to get him some experience? It doesn't have to be a negative.
Backroom Tom Posted December 19, 2009 Backroom Posted December 19, 2009 If he is having a trial elsewhere I'd say he is free to leave
Majiball Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Wow I thought he may stay, Sam obviously doesn't rate him. Maybe a loan would be beneficial to us I've only seen him once but have to say I agreed with Sam's current assestment. Whatever money we can free up for incomings is a bonus.
Backroom DE. Posted December 19, 2009 Backroom Posted December 19, 2009 The slightly worrying thing about Van Heerden is he's not a young lad in the same way Di Santo, Kalinic and Hoilett are... he's 26. At that age he should either be good enough or not, we shouldn't be sending him out on loan for experience. I can only assume he hasn't impressed and Sam is looking to get rid. A shame.
Backroom Tom Posted December 19, 2009 Backroom Posted December 19, 2009 I presume he is Sams Rigters although I thought he showed some potential
Shabani Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 surely hes worth a crack on the right? Salgado was absolutely shocking today
RevidgeBlue Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 I was seriously shocked when Van Heerden came on as sub against Chelsea in the Carling Cup, he looked about 3 feet 6 inches tall and like a twelve year old playing with adults. Completyely out of his depth.
only2garners Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 LEP is reporting tonight that Van Heerden has gone to Turkish team Sivasspor on a free transfer.
LeChuck Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 LEP is reporting tonight that Van Heerden has gone to Turkish team Sivasspor on a free transfer. He went yesterday. I can't remember where it was discussed on here...obviously no-one cared enough to bother digging up his own thread!
Hughesy Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 Yeah I posted it on here a few days ago - think it was Monday
Guest Wen Y Hu Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 Indeed. It was discussed in the main transfer thread, Sam's Targets, and a link to an announcement on the Rovers' official site was included in Monday's Transfer Digest.
cletus Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 I know of a certain Everton player who`ll be glad to see Elrio off the scene
American Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 As long as his wages aren't big (and there's almost no way they are) there's really no way this signing can hurt. Nice job by Sam. Think this summed it up - didn't help us, didn't kill us. Didn't pay off, but I'd still want us to make similar signings.
budha Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 I thought we released him? Atleast he's gone from the squad at the official site.
Iceman Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Great Stuff We never gave him the chance to impress. He is miles better than Andrews, and much better than Mgp and Diouf. He has the pace and skill we need, but its a shame Sam thinks he is too short and light weight. Im sure Moyes, must be thinking the same about Pienaar.

He was smaller than the smallest thing you can think of!He made Charlie Newhouse look like a giant
Hughesy Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 On loan? I think so - most articles when he left suggested it was a 6 month loan with them having an option to extend it for a further 12 months.........?
DeadlyDirk Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 I think so - most articles when he left suggested it was a 6 month loan with them having an option to extend it for a further 12 months.........? I'm not too sure, the official site said he had joined on a free transfer, didn't mention anything about a loan. Midfielder Elrio van Heerden has today completed a move to Turkish side Sivasspor. The South African joins the Super Lig side on a free transfer after a short spell at Ewood Park that saw him make just two substitute appearances in the Carling Cup after arriving on a free transfer from Club Brugge in the summer.
