nicko Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 From BBC gossip column: "Manchester City will expect any club looking to sign out-of-contract striker Daniel Sturridge to pay a £10m 'development fee' to the Blues" That sounds a bit outrageous and will definitely rule us out of any move for him. Chelsea all the way looks like, if even they are willing to pay that! Man City are obviously unaware of the transfer tribunal rules. Is anyone surprised by that? Oh, and the kid who has yet to play 90 minutes is worth just a bit less than where they rate Roque. Unreal.
modes98 Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Can we make a fresh start with this topic. Keep on topic of transfers to and from blackburn rovers! All other transfers in the other thread and all player debate in their individual player topics, and if there isn't one then don't be afraid to start one.
Taggart Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Man City are obviously unaware of the transfer tribunal rules. Is anyone surprised by that? Oh, and the kid who has yet to play 90 minutes is worth just a bit less than where they rate Roque. Unreal. I thought that as well - surely a tribunal wouldn`t set a price tag of 10 million. I would have thought somewhere in the region of 1.5 - 2.25 million would be set given his experience and age. Would he be willing to come to the likes of Rovers, or does he have his mind set on bigger and better projetcs in term sof Champions League etc BTW Nicko - just out of interest, what`s the deal with Joaquin, is this raising its head again ?

Guest benmaxwell Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Another player we were linked to in the past, should have signed, but didn't: http://www.sportinglife.com/football/trans...AZ_Alkmaar.html Did Nicko say Owen was after this player, ie, Michael Owen: http://www.fansfc.com/story/12295.html
LeftWinger Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Michael Owen...........Is now being linked to us! Link?
RibbleValleyRover Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Michael Owen...........Is now being linked to us! Can't afford his wages and he is a crock.
LeChuck Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Michael Owen...........Is now being linked to us! It'll never happen, just another lazy journalist linking us to departing Newcastle players. I doubt it'll be the last rumour we here about Sam going for his ex-players.
braddock Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Michael Owen...........Is now being linked to us! i'm sure i remember him being pleased bs left newcastle and his wages would be astronomical
gazsimm Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 could not afford Owen's wages plus he is always injured now anyway, his mind his not set on football any more, he prefers how his horses are doing more then football!!
modes98 Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 I have removed all the MR X guesses and created a seperate topic. As we get some awful suggestions that don't even meet 1 of the criteria you can guess away on this thread and everyone else can talk the real transfer discussion here. Mr X guessing game
Ewood and I Would Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 More details on Nzonzi from the LET http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport...ieira_/?ref=rss
gumboots Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 More details on Nzonzi from the LET http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport...ieira_/?ref=rss Well he may have Viera's style but he hasn't got his build. i well remember going to Highbury in the FA cup the season we got promoted and Wenger brought Henry and Viera on off the bench. It was scary just seeing how big viera was. This guy looks as tall but somewhat skinny. Is Sam hoping that when these young guys he's bought/possibly buying get to Lancashire a diet of fish and chips or Hotpot will bulk them up a bit?
bats Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 This is taken off setanta: Stoke City and Blackburn Rovers have been watching Bosnia's Senijad Ibricic, a 23-year-old attacking midfielder from Hadjuk Split, and Borisa Pandzu, according to reports in the Balkans. Wonder is there is any truth in this, sounds like and exciting player: http://www.101greatgoals.com/2009/06/video...toke-blackburn/
joey_big_nose Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 About our price range... It would be an interesing policy to go down the route of getting in taented youngsters. It is the basis of what has made Villareal so successful in Spain. However you have to make sure you get it right!
blue and whites Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 nicko: will there be any news tonight? elleven o cloker maby..
nicko Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 nicko: will there be any news tonight? elleven o cloker maby.. Half-time in Ecuador v Argentina, so seems about time... Aston Villa definitely planning to come in for Roque. O'Neill desperate to get rid of John Carew to help raise the funds and make space. People working overtime on this one just now to get them into the race - just in case it starts soon. Good news all round as Villa will make sure there is an auction. Man City think they have this to themselves just now and are in control. Not quite.

Yes, that makes sense, Roque is far better at his link up play and with their two quick lads he would be a real plus for Villa, question is, how much???
Guest benmaxwell Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Man City think they have this to themselves just now and are in control. Not quite. Spurs are also interested aren't they?
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Oh good, we might screw more cash out of City. That's if Martin O'Neill has managed to shuffle over to the phone yet.

Excellent news, with Spurs and Villa interested it means City will have to pay close to our asking price if they really want him. Surprised that Carew might be going, looking at a few Villa forums he is a bit of a fans favourite. Could this be a suicidal move by O'Neill? after the capitulation in Europe and the severe decline in form for the last 15-20 games of the season just finished I get the impression the fans aren’t that happy with him.
