Rovers want 5 Million but will most likely settle for 3.5.......................

Frank Rijkaard will have the final say on Zurabs transfer and is looking for "better options"..........Looks like Zurab will have to wait for a few days more but is ALREADY in Turkey!.........................Just in case..............

Are we still looking at Tchite? Maybe Sam should have a go at Mamadou Niang, tall striker and can score goals. I still have a feeling, that Cisse might be looked at as well.

Niang looks good for marseille, but then they are in the champions League this season so why would he leave unless they buy better? I know about the draw of the prem especially for those who have no chance of winning the CL with their club, but unless you fall out of favour at your current club, as givet did, I think you'd stay at Marseille.

If Olympiakos don't reach the £3.5 million mark, we should tell them to do one.

and sell him to which of the many other clubs wanting to buy? We push the price as high as we can, but we don't want him (at least allardyce doesn't appear to) so there's no point in turning them down out of hand.

Agree. No idea why we would try and price Matty out of a move, if Sam doesnt want him. 2.5mill is good enough and we should give Derbs the move he wants. I would love him to stay, but if he is not in BS plans, then i see no point in why we dont want to accept their offer.

The club doesn't have to sell him to Greece, plenty of English clubs would pay more. 5m for an England under-21 player with a good eye for goal is nothing.

so where is the interest? If he were that sought after, we'd have heard some rumours by now.

Why are we so hell bent at selling him for any price? Especially for a player of his quality and age. He still has allot to learn and has shown in Greece that he is prepared to do exactly that! He is a England under 21 solid goalscoring striker, who has come off the back of a trophy winning season out on loan.

They are a Champions League team who have no excuse to not pay a decent fee for a decent footballer. Anything under £3 million would be a rip off for us, i mean what perminant siging for £1 million (which is about as much as we would get back if we sold for £2 million) could we make of Derbs quality?

Birmingham were said to be interested but others would come out of the woodwork if the current deal falls through.

£4-5m is a fair price - we will get that for him from someone like Wolves or Big Club. Anything less and tell the Greeks where to go!

He is only going because of his desire for a starting spot. Doesnt mean we should take less. They have big pressure from their fans to sign him too - so lets put the squeeze on them!

I wonder what deadline Sam has set for himself for making signings should the Roque transfer not be completed.

We can't leave it to late, especially with potential free transfers.

I must say, from what i can tell, all is quiet at Rovers at the moment.

I wouldn't even go that far tcj_jones. £7-£8 million probably. Our board must realise that we can't keep pulling rabbit's out of the hat.

Yeah, I was probably being overly optimistic. You're probably nearer the mark.

KA an excellent and versatile squad player. Would be madness to sell him withour receiving a good fee.

Sweet Jesus, you must be kidding?! Please, surely you're having a laugh?

I know I've repeated myself a bit recently on Keith Andrews but, he seriously is one of the most limited players in the Premier League. He is clearly in peak physical condition, but there is NOTHING to his game. The moment he receives the ball, he passes if off to the nearest available player, even if they are only two yards away. If nobody is available, he either gets tackled or has a longer range pass intercepted. He will run all day and will track back, but he can't tackle, so he's not much good in this respect either.

It would be madness not to accept a bid, even if we simply recoup what we paid out for him. I'm amazed that clubs above mid-table in the Championship are supposedly in for him.

because the manager appears not to fancy him, seeing him as a golapoacher and nothing more whilst he wants more flexibility and versatility in his players. I'm not saying sell him at any price but we do need to accept he's almost certainly going.

Just because the manager doesn't fancy him, doesn't mean he wont have a fixed reasonable price in his head. I believe we are looking for something in the region of £3.5 million for Derbs plus future add ons such as sell on clauses and a possible buy-back clause as well.

Does anyone know what country Sam is currently 'on holiday' in. If Sam is anything like Roberto Martinez, he might be doing a little bit of research whilst enjoying the sun.

It sounds to me, like the club are trying to get some outgoing sorted before deciding on incomings. Their is definate interest in Keith, Roque looks like he is going, Derbs and Zurab look they are just waiting for the nod, and their are a couple of fringe players who could add to the kitty.

I'm not expecting anything for a week or two, but i think we can all expect an interesting transfer window with a few suprises in store.

Paul Ince is talking up Roque moving to Manchester United at the moment on Sky!!

He's fine as a squad member. Decent player to have on the bench.

I can see him being used next season as a late sub when we are looking to close a game out, playing in front of the back four.

Probably that trip to Dubai that he had to cancel when he took the job?!

As for Keith Andrews - £4m+ and we should sell him.

I thought a £2m offer would have us dancing in disbelief.

Don't rule out Roque to OT but don't bet on it either.

I'd take £750k.

Im bloody glad you are not manager then. We paid £550k's more then that when we signed him, and since then, he has become a full International footballer!

Also Wagstaff was past it, but what a difference he made with his passing and intelligent play!

Hold on, massive difference here, Wagstaff dropped down a level to strut his stuff at Ewood. A big, big, difference, we've not dropped a level or are you implying we do to make Rothen look good.

I'm beginning to get that Robbie Fowler feeling all over again with Rothen.

We paid £1.2m + add-ons, which takes it closer to £1.8m.

£4m will do, now that he is a full international and has proven his ability at Prem level.

Phil - what you heard about RSC & Mancs?

If anyone pays 4m for Andrews my head will fall off. That said he is, on par, worth at least 2m for us. he will be at Rovers next year cause no one will bid more than he is worth to us.

Bloody hell, we paid £1.25m rising to nearly £2m for Keith Andrews?! I thought he paid between £500k - £750k, I swear that was the sum that was banded around at the time? If I saw Ince today, I'd punch him right in the face.

Can somebody find a link quoting this?
