Phil - what you heard about RSC & Mancs?

I know i'm not phil, but i can reply to that question.

In Ince's interview with Sky where he said he wanted to get back into management, and that the main reason he failed at Rovers because of the lack of financial backing. He said that Roque could go to a team as good as Manchester United, and ever since then, SkySports have been talking it up as a possibility.

I don't see their being any truth behind it. But would love it to be true, as it would push the likelyness of us getting the full £20 million closer.

£4-5m is a fair price - we will get that for him from someone like Wolves or Big Club. Anything less and tell the Greeks where to go!

He is only going because of his desire for a starting spot. Doesnt mean we should take less. They have big pressure from their fans to sign him too - so lets put the squeeze on them!

C'mon Chris, thats ridiculous. If Sam doesnt fancy him, and we get anywhere between 2.5 and 3mill then let him go. A young England international, sitting on our bench or playing reserves aint going to make him happy, knowing he could have played champions league football. I like Derbs, but if we not going to play him at least give the lad a chance to go and further his career.

Bloody hell, we paid £1.25m rising to nearly £2m for Keith Andrews?! I thought he paid between £500k - £750k, I swear that was the sum that was banded around at the time? If I saw Ince today, I'd punch him right in the face.

Can somebody find a link quoting this?

Just think the club are probably still paying Ince a full wage at this moment in time along with Knoxx and Mathias.

Then theres how much did the club blow on Blobbie Fowler, theres definitely been a financial cover up by the board to hide their embarrassment at their complete lack of judgement they showed last summer.

Good?

Givet - 2.7m euros?

Samba - 5.5m euros?

RSC - 11m euros?

So clubs are willing to pay over the odds for Roque, we are siging Givet for over market value and Samba is only worth £5m?! Yeah ok!

We paid £1.2m + add-ons, which takes it closer to £1.8m.

£4m will do, now that he is a full international and has proven his ability at Prem level.

We were robbed.

To be fair i think it's pretty good in terms of actual worth...what people are prepared to pay is kind of a different issue. I mean does anyone think Ronaldo, as good as he is, is worth £80m (the site had him at 60 mil before he moved btw)?

Also, I think if most of us are honest we know Roque isn't worth £18m but just that teams like City are willing to pay it. If the blue half of manchester hadn't had the cash injection they have we would be talking around 10-12 mil for Roque I reckon.

I think it is less than 1.5m personally. He has comfortably been a much better value signing than Grella (so far anyway) or of course Grabbi. I wouldn't say he was a bad signing. SOme people are blinded by the fact he came up three divisions. He has coped with it amazingly well.

Hopefully won't start next season, but has more to offer than than quite a few lying around our squad.

I agree that he was better value for money than Grella last season, but at least Grella is proven at a higher level and will liklely offer a lot more next season when fit. Andrews has also done considerably well considering his step up from League Two / League One. However, he still isn't worth that kinda money.

How many league points did Andrews earn us this season? Every league position is worth 750k's. He must have earned us at least £1.5 million in final league position.

I'd rather have Andrews then Grella and Reid right now that's for certain!

MEN says City closing in on Roque.

Can we please leave private lives and jobs out of this please. Stick to discussing transfers, if you don't agree with something that does not give you the right to launch a personal attack on another member and any further attacks will not be tolerated. Keep it PMs!

Thanks :xmas:

You could put a goat up front in the Championship Playoff final who, by pure freak accident, manages to deflect a shot going wide into the back of the net, winning the game. It wouldn't make him worth £40m.

The only reason I'd ever have Andrews over Grella is because of his fitness levels. I'm sure next season Grella will demonstrate the he is a far more valuable player.

As for your second point I have never seen any PM from you to me, which kind of makes it difficult to reply to. I very rarely check my PM's so anybody who PM's me is unlikely to get a quick reply anyway.

Okies. Well i PM'd you telling you what i do. If you want to go through your PM folder, you will probably see it.

In other news. Turkish websites are picking up on the Zurab transfer: http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=e...0%26tbs%3Dqdr:d

Diouf has rather strangely not written off leaving Rovers: http://www.setanta.com/Uk/Articles/Footbal...ure/gnid-57088/

Schevchenko might return to Chelsea ...maybe we could get him on loan and still keep any Roque cash for other things

Maybe 10 years ago, but now way. Not now. He's finished, washed up, and past his peak. He's another Robbie Fowler, only with a shedload more status and financial demands. His wife is also supposed to want to move to Monaco, and thats a bit more glamourous than Darwen or Clitheroe.
