Alan75 Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Anybody have any idea why Bill Kenwright (Everton chairman) was at Ewood today? I saw him enter the JW stand with his car parked outside. (Me and a mate had just been in the shop). He had the fixture list - oops wrong topic Good job he parked before entering the JW stand.

47er Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Did you say that when he bagged 4 league goals? He played for 75% of the games because of our injury problems, he was bound to do something right. But the simple fact is that he isn't Premier League standard and that's it.
Hughesy Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Cant deny that he got us some crucial goals though. Hull, West Ham & West Brom spring to mind. Without those goals we would of had 4 points less
Torgeir Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Forget any Everton player get this guy signed up! Marcus Berg! Scores for fun, Was quality for Sweden under 21's Only 21 replacement for derbyshire! Will be cheap and a real prospect! Macus Berg He was my Mr. X, quality player indeed, although the step up from the Dutch Eresdivisie to the EPL is big one.
Eddie Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Just been absolutely harassed in a bar here in Paris for the Rothen link, says it all really. PSG fans were saying things like "I hear you want Rothen.." and then reaching into their pockets for change. Simply can't good enough, I can't say it in enough ways.

Without those goals we would of had 4 points less Without him.somebody else would have played and ,if they were of genuine Premiership standard, would have played better. Who can say how many goals they would have scored, or tackles made etc etc? Rather a fallacious argument there Hughesy

alexanders Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Apparently we are after Zidan: Blackburn interested in Zidan (goal.com) part of the text which is in German: Zidan to England? Since it is only logical that some players with other clubs to be associated. How soon could Zidan in the English Premier League play. As the picture says, the Blackburn Rovers of the Egyptians interested. Accordingly, the pain threshold of the Dortmund probably seven million euros.

DC "Ja" JW "Hello, it's John Williams, Chairman of Blackburn Rovers!" DC "Who?" JW "Of the Egyptians" DC "Oh yes, how are you?" JW "Fine. Now then mucka, what about this Zidan. What would he cost?" DC "Come again cock?" JW "What's your pain threshold pal?" DC "About seven million euros John" JW "Hmmm. Can't we take him on trial for a week, then a 12 month loan if that goes well, with an option to buy for ten bob at the end instead?" *silence* *click* JW "Hello? Hello?"

PSG fans were saying things like "I hear you want Rothen.." and then reaching into their pockets for change. Simply can't good enough, I can't say it in enough ways. Give it up Eddie, you're a broken record. I've got a friendly wager for you: Last year's central midfielders (Andrews, Dunn, Reid, Emo, Tugay, Villanueva & Grella - Warnock is a defender preferably, so I'm not counting him) accounted for a grand total of 7 goals and 5 assists in Premier League matches last season. If Rothen signs and appears in 29 or more PL matches in 2009/2010 I predict he will match the sum of those numbers himself. That's any combination of goals and assists equal to 12 or more if he appears in 29 or more matches. He doesn't have to start, just appearances. How's £50 sound? This is a challenge to Eddie. No other takers please.
Hughesy Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 12 assists/ goals for one player is alot - take the bet on eddie!
doctorryan Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 You're right Hughesy. It's just a feeling I have + faith in Sam' assessment of his talent, which is a heck of a lot more than the faith I have in Eddie's assessment.
JAL Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Eddie is saying Rothen is shyte! Listen to him and dont be fools ! We dont need Rothen maybe its another sack the board time again coming up.
Hughesy Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Eddie is saying Rothen is shyte! Listen to him and dont be fools ! We dont need Rothen maybe its another sack the board time again coming up. SACK THE BOARD??? Are you a dingle, or just the most glass empty kind of guy who supports Rovers?! Did you say Sack the board when we signed Rocky for £3.5m? Or when we signed Samba for 200k?! This isnt Newcastle, this isnt a joke club where we have protests about things we dont like!

Have you told Big Sam and John Williams of your concerns? They are the only ones who can have any effect on whether Rothen comes to Rovers or not... With the best will in the world, there's not much any of us can do.
Kelbo Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 The only thing I can say is this, Sam and the clubs scouts must be seeing something in Rothen!! Just as they did with Givet!! I will trust their judgement until I have seen the guys role at Rovers and how he plays!! IF he signs
gumboots Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 And here's me getting quite excited about the prospects for next season! Eddie's not the Messiah by the way. No, and I don't often agree with him, but in this case he's right.
Hughesy Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Didnt Eddie say Givet isnt very good? He has proved that to be incorrect so far!
gumboots Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Didnt Eddie say Givet isnt very good? He has proved that to be incorrect so far! Exactly why i said i don't often agree with him. it's just that Rothen is really not very good in the French league which is far less frantic and less physical than ours. Tugay was not the best tackler and at the end didn't run far but he could still control games and considering his age would have run through brick walls for rovers. I don't see rothen doing that
Hughesy Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 If Sam trusts him, then I will do too - his track record for us so far is awesome. Lets keep our faith in him. If RSC goes soon then Sam will have much more flexibility in the market anyway and our targets might move up a level. As for the Shout earlier about Leon Osman - id love him to be a rover, just dont think they would sell him.
tcj_jones Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Isn't Osman still quite an important player to Everton? Would love him here but, likewise, cannot see Everton selling.
G Somerset Rover Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Isn't Osman still quite an important player to Everton? Would love him here but, likewise, cannot see Everton selling. I know that Warnock and Osman are best mates. I certainly hope Bill Kenwright wasn't here with regards to Stevie.
