nicko
DI SANTO...you know the score, you have first shout, Chelsea are letting Ancelotti look at him first...no change, all well...just wait. THE EGYPTIAN...nobody can seriously want him...not a Premier League player. OWEN...I like Steve Stammers, but I don't think he is right on that one. Veevs
Cordoza thing looks interesting but unlikely (still you never know).. I am curious though, does anyone know why he has played just 55 games in the last two seasons, is he a bench warmer or a player who likes to get himself injured? joey_big_nose
I think i see what sam is doing here.... basically, he's going to sell all our strikers and then...... oh wait no i dont know what's next I don't think we will be selling Benni or Roberts. As it is we need to get at least two strikers in...
adbo99
Hitzlsperger, 27, is out of contract next year but Stuttgart will do a deal at around £5million. He would fit the bill for one of the MF slots nicely. as a villan/rovers supporter........ Hitz is great if he is smacking in a 30 yarder, as a player not great at all......... always thought hed make a good left back - centre mid in the premier, could do better ! Lurid Coat
Hitzlsperger has matured significally since he left Villa. He's a good player, and would certainly go straight into our starting XI if we reeled him in (which, of course, we won't).

G Somerset Rover
So Nicko, any truth in the Cardoza rumour? It was in the Mirror today. Granted not your story, but was just checking.. Edit: Eddiewac beat me to the Mirror link.
daren
I would have thought that Cardozo for 6m was a good deal... When did it change from €20 million to £6 million?
farhanology
Nicko, What happened to our interest in Ugur Boral (Fenerbahce's 16) - we did look into him during last years Euros. He'd give Morten a kick up the pants. He was being watched, even when we had Morten. Also, is Shikabala's club Zamalek happy to let him be here for a Trial? Or do they demand immediate negotiations should Rovers approach the club since he is an established international? Many potential moves have been scuppered because of our insistence to a 'trial before we buy' policy.
neophox
I believe Oscar Cardozo would be the perfect replacement for Roque. 2 years younger, 1,94 cm tall and also a free kick specialist and good with the head! Draman interesting Rovers http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...n.html?ITO=1490

Draman interesting Rovers http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...n.html?ITO=1490 Cardoza does sound plausible. Also interesting that the papers say wea re as far ahead as having talks. Papers quoting £6 million but Oklahoma reckons he would be let go for less than £17million -ish? I think we could definately affore the six... nicko
So Nicko, any truth in the Cardoza rumour? It was in the Mirror today. Granted not your story, but was just checking.. Cardozo story came out in Portugal yesterday - and some muppets picked it up and ran with it today. I think he would be too expensive. There is an awful lot going on at the club in the last 24 hours that suggests to me some of the high-ups are looking at alternatives to Kevin Davies, but the manager is still fixed on that course. Going to be making a lot of calls on that subject today. TWO names from nowhere have come up. Not sure either are better than Davies, but we shall see. modes98
When did it change from €20 million to £6 million? I believe that €20m is his release clause in his contract. Not sure anyone would pay that. The article I read said they were looking to recoup the €12m they paid for him. Neophox: Instinct or Info?

Good player, wide rather than central. However I would not dismiss that idea. Shikabala is a trialist at best and neither he nor his club seem to have any better options. Anti-Dingle-Brigade
Release clauses mean nothing in Spain/Portugal, they are just insurance. I think they are required to put release clauses on every player, so they put ludicrously high fees on players to ensure they can't be pinched.
