Think you may need to change your regional settings and keyboard settings as your £`s are coming out as #`s

How do you do that...one of the dogs stood on the keyboard last night and it's never been right since.

Redknapps always taken the ###### but £18m is astounding.

Redknapp is NOT the problem. Levy does the deals. Redknapp would love to sell Bent and start bidding for players, Levy thinks he is Alan Sugar's apprentice or something...

Sometimes it doesn't pay to drive a hard bargain.

nicko, any indication who is in for Tuncay and how Sam sees him in terms of our plans? I know you mentioned his wages, but the same applies to someone like Ruud. I want to know is Sam interested at all?

Btw, whats up with Tugay, has he joined Hughes at City or is he relaxing somewhere, cause QPR is interested in getting him to play next season.

nicko, quick note to correct what you said on Ruud.

Ruud had 10 goals in less than 15 games when he got injured last season. He was de-registered WRONGLY, when they thought that he wouldnt be fit for the rest of the season, but he did get fit and it caused an outcry and was one of the last straws in the old regime's ineptness, because they missed me for the last month or so of the season, and he had declared himself fit. That was widely reported in Spain.

Lets look at the "fairytale" signing scenario of the horsediver.

vannistlenosediver is no doubt still a quality striker, even if he has fitness issues, his goalscoring ratio per games is beyond comparison (almost). Lets just take the signing as being done and dusted and ask the question, how would he fit into BRFC style of play ?

RVN needs quality service and that has what he has built his goalscoring reputation on throughout his career, who have Rovers got to fire the supply line ? Who would they have to buy to create the chances for the horseheadednoseddiver ?

Every credit for Sam mentioning him as being a "potential", but the more you think about it the more difficult it becomes believing he will wear a blue and white halved shirt of Rovers next season. I suppose much the same could be said for M Owen now. For me, he would be the better option but clearly, if we read into what Sam has said, we wont be touching him.

As for the French lad at £10m ? I dont know anything about him, perhaps our French based supporters can comment on him. You would have to ask if any French forward is worth that much ( I dont include the established stars such as Anelka, Ribery and Henry) currently plying their trade in France.

I would like to see the addition of Gudjohnnson from Barca (potential loan then a freebie signing) tpo provide the link to a front man and/or play alongside the front man. We most definately need a midfield general, someone who will do the dirty work. For me, despite the outcry, amger and outrage, Joey Barton could easily fit the bill and would not cost us a lot of money in terms of value for money. Please remember it is only an opinion despite what he has done in the past.

Rovers could offer a line up along the lines of

Robbo, Emerton, Samba, Givet, Warnock, Diouf, Barton, Dunn or Grella/Reid, MGP, McCarthy/Gudjohnson and New forward.

That is a solid line up, It can offer a variety of 4-4-2 or 4-5-1.

In reseve we have depth in the midfield along with Andrews and the non playing midfield. It leaves Gally and Nelsen as options and with Roberts up front thats a healthy outfit capable of progressing he club into the top 10.

Big Sam showed last season that he's happy to play 4-4-2 as well as a lone striker so Ruud can fit into the team BUT we need someone with legs who can support him and more importantly we need someone who can create chances. There's no point buying him and not actually making opportunities for him. That's where we struggled last season. Feed the Ruud and he will score.

Tuncay has not got a club as of Friday...agents were calling round and telling potential buyers of the deal...I think the sale price of 5 million will have to drop...his wages are still a major worry.

QPR have asked Tugay if he wants to play on...he is doing his coaching badges in Turkey and has an offer from Man City...he might sign for QPR if the money is right...he could still play at that level..whether he could manage 46 games is another question...it will come don to how much he wants in the contract.

Are you sure that wasn't the season before? When did he last play? I heard it was November. Happy to stand corrected if not.

well if he is fit I would go for Dean Aushton hold the ball up well and scores a few as well, however nicko is west ham open for offers, and if so at what price would it be.

Gignac looks to be the real deal. He scored 24 in 38 games last season, which is doing well, even in Ligue 1 (he was the top scorer). He's fairly tall, big frame although very fit and is reasonably quick for someone of his size. He scores a decent number of free kicks, although he's hardly a set piece specialist. Good finisher with his right foot, his left isn't quite as good as you might want, but two-footed strikers are pretty rare. He's good in the air and could certainly fill the target man role. 10 million is quite a lot, but he's a real talent. He's always been viewed as a talented player, but had some personal issues for a while. At the moment I think you'd have to say that he will continue to develop and probably become one of France's key players for the next 10 years. He does have a really annoying celebration.

10 million might be a bit much, but he'd be a good signing. He's better than Elmander who he basically replaced.

Yep around November he got injured, but I am talking about about 15 games in all competition including the first few Champions League games. Ruud declared his fitness in about April, I believe before the El Clasico, and it caused huge uproar from the Madrid fans, especially as his replacement in the list had been Julien Faubert who never got a look in during the second half of the season!

A total fortune...the fee would be over £10 million...his wages are already £50,000-a-week...and fitness is quite an issue.

[Thanks, I got my £s back. Re-booted the computer, didn't boot the dog].

Eddie is the one where he puts his fingers shaping a long nose? What the hell does it mean?

.

Your mate should buy him (Tugay that is), he would be the greatest player ever to wear their shirt.

BFS: Hi John, I'm looking for a target man and my old pal, and yours, Kevin Davies would do nicely.

JW: Keven Davies...are you serious???

BFS: Yeah, we worked well together in the past and he had a good season.

JW: Um...yeah but he's 32 and the fans would hate it, no way.

BFS: Come on, give Gartside a bell and ask if he's available.

JW: Um OK....Let me just get his number out of my invisible phonebook and call him on my invisible phone [starts mimicking using a mobile] ring, ring..ring...um it's ringing...ahh hello Phil, W was wondering how much for your captain mate......of really, that much? OK we'll let you know. Sorry Sam they said they want £10m

BFS: Damn...oh never mind.

JW: Oh and Sam?

BFS: Yeah?

JW: If you insist on wearing that shirt again, don't put it on inside out next time...

BFS: No probs boss.

Sounds ideal bar the price. I know the french league isn't the best but that's still some impressive stats and is the right age as well. Wondering if Sam could get the price down a bit as 10m would leave us with little for a cm and a rb.

As for his celebration - being proud of being a father is a laudable quality in my book, even if it's not the most exciting celebration ever.

to be honest he put in a shocking cross at the start, then his goal only went in because it bobbled before he hit it

poor celebration, not even a tattoo of his sons name on his chest

10 MILL???????????????????????????????#

That's a "hands-off" valuation, not a serious pricing.

Bloody hell.

That's brilliant news. Won't be coming here then! :D

Sam doesn't fancy the guy...or his wages.

Think Owen's fate will be decided very shortly.

Sunday People might have the answer in the morning. ;)

I thought you didnt want to get involved with the Owen rumours Mr Nixon. You seem very much involved since i posed the question to you.

I didn't want to get involved in the Rovers-Owen rumour because it had no chance of happening.

Tuncay would cost £8.4 million for next season alone...about half of Burnley's budget.

And where would he play? ;)

Owen and Ruud up front for Rovers would be brilliant. Just to see those 2 up front would be sweet. Benni and Roberts on the bench, with 2 creative midfielders signed up as well. But then i woke up and realised it aint ever going to happen. Lol

Does anybody think, that Sam might sign RVN for say 1.5mill. Then get Di Santo on loan and try and get Gignac and let either Benni or Roberts go.

RVN

Gignac

Benni

Di Santo

Roberts

Ive included Roberts, as Sam might want 5 strikers. Personally 4 strikers would be okay. So that means let Rigters leave and keep Gally as well or loan him out again.
