mellison24 Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Just to add my two pennies worth....Is it Luca Toni?
braddock Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 if some of the clues are red herrings i'd say darren bent

I'm impressed. And all done in less than 4 minutes as well. Just one small point though.....it would have been better if the surnames were in alphabetical order. But still all things considered quite a good show.
AJW Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 couple of points... a word of caution re-read nickos comments about the quality of this guy, orignally he said he was better than kuranyi and zaki... better in what way ? younger is better cheaper is better less agents to deal with is better someone used to our climate is better someone who speaks english is better somonoe known to the manager is better if somone can find a 2009 fifa ranked list of players (assuming there is one) you will find an awful lot of players ranked above zaki and kuranyi who : a-, you have never heard of , playing in an obscure league b -, someone like peter crouch who has a 1 in 2 goal ratio in international football when those goals have come against teams outside the top 100 with all due respect to nicko , and i am not having a pop but this time last year nicko was telling us danny simpson was a good player 12months down the line we all know better....... the fact that he says we will have to trust him , means this guy isn't as good as we all hoped and probably wont be better than kuranyi and zaki
Backroom Tom Posted June 12, 2009 Backroom Posted June 12, 2009 I've had a brainwave, how about Luca Toni (He's the guy who run's Toni's pizza place in Harwood right )
spencey7 Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 I'm fairly sure nicko did say he has scored goals but not in the EPL He didn't.
nicko Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 with all due respect to nicko , and i am not having a pop but this time last year nicko was telling us danny simpson was a good player 12months down the line we all know better....... the fact that he says we will have to trust him , means this guy isn't as good as we all hoped and probably wont be better than kuranyi and zaki Danny Simpson was a promising player at Man U but was shocking for Rovers...fair point. Mister X - like any other signing - could go either way but I think he is a far better signing for you than Kuranyi or Zaki would be. Kuranyi has been around the block and is not that good. Zaki is just a pest. I hope you complete this deal and I am proved correct about the player's quality. If not, I would be delighted to see him at t'Turf.
Fife Rover Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Nicko said one hurdle to overcome, he said nothing about the Player not knowing!! Oh deary me! I love that one......visions of the player being blissfully unaware while Rovers and his club conduct the negotiations and conclude the deal, then they knock the player on the head and parcel him up and post him off to Rovers where he wakes up to find Sam grinning down at him. Oh yes, and the slight delay that Nicko refererred to is because they are having a bit of difficulty finding a big enough box to put him in.
Amo Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 He didn't. He did. Don't ask me to quote it, because that's looking for a needle in a haystack, but I did see Nicko post it.
nicko Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 He did. Don't ask me to quote it, because that's looking for a needle in a haystack, but I did see Nicko post it. Can't remember if I did or didn't. Either way...he hasn't.
Fife Rover Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 It's obvious now who it is! Its' got to be ........ Billy Sharp!!!!
JAL Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 So long as its not Boyd of Rangers that would deflate the soul signing this oversized pudding.
dirty cons Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 this topic is so boring. Who cares who it is as long as his commited and Injury free he'll be better than Santa Cruz the lazy tosser.
kandi Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 this topic is so boring. Who cares who it is as long as his commited and Injury free he'll be better than Santa Cruz the lazy tosser. You are simply a foul-mouthed idiot..
LeChuck Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 He didn't. Okay. Still, he said all those others thing which you claimed you couldn't find. So...Guiza, eh?
spencey7 Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 He did. Don't ask me to quote it, because that's looking for a needle in a haystack, but I did see Nicko post it. He absolutely did not. End of. (Thanks for clearing it up by the way Nicko.)
spencey7 Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Okay. Still, he said all those others thing which you claimed you couldn't find. I think I'd be correct in claiming that you are one of - if not the - fabricator in chief of "information" about the fabled Mister X: "deal was pretty much done with the club but the player hadn't been informed" "good enough for the first team but needs work" "I think I'm right in saying it's not a loan either" etc... Mister X - like any other signing - could go either way but I think he is a far better signing for you than Kuranyi or Zaki would be. Do you personally think this is a better signing in terms of potential than Villanueva was...? (Surely not.)
Hi Mack Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 The sentance "Coyle has looked at him in the past" should narrow the massive list of names mentioned to a mear hand full. I am really expecting a let-down, I will be glad when "Mr X" has a name. I thought Nicko would have revealed the name by now, Just to stop all the PM's
John Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Must be someone from the SPL or of course Luca Toni...
Kelbo Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Must be someone from the SPL or of course Luca Toni... But, would a guy looking to play for Italy in the world cup play championship football at Burnley on £9,000 per week?
