couple of points...

a word of caution re-read nickos comments about the quality of this guy, orignally he said he was better than kuranyi and zaki...

better in what way ?

younger is better

cheaper is better

less agents to deal with is better

someone used to our climate is better

someone who speaks english is better

somonoe known to the manager is better

if somone can find a 2009 fifa ranked list of players (assuming there is one) you will find an awful lot of players ranked above zaki and kuranyi

who :

a-, you have never heard of , playing in an obscure league

b -, someone like peter crouch who has a 1 in 2 goal ratio in international football when those goals have come against teams outside the top 100

Danny Simpson was a promising player at Man U but was shocking for Rovers...fair point.

Mister X - like any other signing - could go either way but I think he is a far better signing for you than Kuranyi or Zaki would be.

Kuranyi has been around the block and is not that good. Zaki is just a pest.

I hope you complete this deal and I am proved correct about the player's quality.

If not, I would be delighted to see him at t'Turf.

I think I'd be correct in claiming that you are one of - if not the - fabricator in chief of "information" about the fabled Mister X:

"deal was pretty much done with the club but the player hadn't been informed"

"good enough for the first team but needs work"

"I think I'm right in saying it's not a loan either" etc...
