mellison24 Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 imy....ABBEY is right. I saw the post before you edited and u had changed his words just slightly. ABBEY....imy changed your words slightly, but not to an extent that changed their meaning. Now both of you kiss and make up. One question. If Matty became a huge success and we bought him back, what of the 30% sell-on? would that equate to a 30% (or whatever) discount?

grinder Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 The simple point despite all of the above is are we going to get a better back up for £3million and similar wages? I think it will be very difficult given the bonkers prices being quoted currently. Much is being made of Hoilet on another thread but nobody knows really if he's any good or premiership standard. The grass seems particularly green on the other side at the moment but sometimes its better the less glamarous devil you know.............
Jackson Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 MD wanted to go. He realised that it was far better being a big fish in a small pond, which is exactly what RSC and Bentley will come to regret. Clever lad and best of luck to him.

Billy Castell Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 I have the same birthday as Matt Derbyshire. Anyway, hope he does really well and Real Madrid pay £100m for him .
alexanders Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 I have the same birthday as Matt Derbyshire. Anyway, hope he does really well and Real Madrid pay £100m for him . My girlfriend too.
stuwilky Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 My girlfriend too. Why will Real Madrid want your girlfriend?
alexanders Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Why will Real Madrid want your girlfriend? I think so Billy Castell. She has the exact same birth of date as Derbyshire. I thought it was the destiny. I don't think they are interested in her
Billy Castell Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Maybe they're twins seperated at birth. Real Madrid might hire her to give the team more masculinity after Ronaldo's move.
stuwilky Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Real Madrid might hire her to give the team more masculinity after Ronaldo's move. Ouch!
Billy Castell Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 That was meant as Ronaldo being a big girl's blouse, and not that Alexander's girlfriend has a beard and a Goldie Looking Chain song written about her.
Kelbo Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Stop feeling sorry for Matty, four years ago he was playing for Great Harwood in the North West Counties second division, now, after three seasons at Rovers, he has a four year contract in Greece, doing something he loves doing, he's a great lad and I was desperate for him to really push on at Rovers but if the manager doesnt fancy you, you have to move on and he will have a comfortable life whatever happens and still be a Rovers fan. Good luck Matty, think of us when we are in the cold and its 80 degrees over there and thanks for the £3,000,000 I hope Sam spends it wisely!!

waggy Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 sorry to see matt leave,i personally rate him higher than roberts.when he is the top scorer in greece,in the england squad we will all wonder why lardarse let him go
gazsimm Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 sorry to see matt leave,i personally rate him higher than roberts.when he is the top scorer in greece,in the england squad we will all wonder why lardarse let him go it is sad Matt has left, but i think it was a right move for him and the club. He was never going to be able to hold down a starting place at Rovers, just coz he's not quite good enough. No other premership teams came in for him as well did they?
T4E Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Maybe they're twins seperated at birth. My sister and Ian Bell have the exact same birthday. I've often wondered.
67splitscreen Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 As nicko would say this could be just a agent doing a bit of overtime. If not Matty may benefit from having some one like Owen around him. Hopefully that 30% will keep on growing. olympiakos to offer big £££££ for Qwen.

67splitscreen Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Not in the same starting 11 your right, the same squad though I would think isn't a problem. Is it?. Not that i think it will happen, as nicko said the other day, likes his horses to much. Long way in a helicopter every day.
alexanders Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 He wanted to leave ? Matt Derbyshire wanted to leave Rovers
eddiewac Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 Theres a slight difference between a first team regular wanting to leave ie Roque, and someone who wants to leave for first team football like Derbyshire
alexanders Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 I think the article put Derbyshire in a bad light. He was a Rover thru and thru, Roque wasnt
4ever&ever Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 Theres a slight difference between a first team regular wanting to leave ie Roque, and someone who wants to leave for first team football like Derbyshire Yep exactly right, it appears to me that Sam is justifying the move to our fans. Trying to claim that he was acting the same way as Cruz isn't right though in my opinion. If he was getting regular 1st team games here he wouldn't have been wanting away. However we all know he wasn't quite good enough to be a regular 1st team starter so you can't blame him really for wanting a move, just feel that this isn't something that Sam needed to comment about as it's as though he's trying to give a bad impression of Derbyshire, although you can never tell with these articles as they can be twisted in so many ways.
LeChuck Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 It should have been obvious he wanted to go there - Champions League football and a life with his family in Greece, who wouldn't? He would have been a fool not to take the opportunity.
