martmitch Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 I genuinely believe junior is a real superstar in the making, everytime he gets the ball in the final third he is dangerous

cruz Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Whatever happened to Junior feigning injury so as to not rule himself out of a summer transfer??
joey_big_nose Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Best young player since Duff. Can be better than Duff in my opinion. Full backs can't live with him. He will kill it next season. Can't wait to see him linking up with Rochina and Formica as the attacking players in a 4231.
Clitherover Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Interview on Rovers Player now and he is asked outright about signing new contract and he said he is happy at Rovers and want to sign a new contract great news That is fantastic news, made my day already!
Amo Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Whatever happened to Junior feigning injury so as to not rule himself out of a summer transfer?? Another Miseryman exclusive.
Hughesy Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Yep he wants to stay - which is great news. Also think by the reactions yesterday that Robbo, Salgado, Olsson, Gamst & Phil Jones love it here too.
RibbleValleyRover Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Let's wait and see, it wasn't particularly easy getting him to sign his previous one if I recall.
Silencio Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 If Kean was telling the truth about Venky's, Hoilett and the new contract last week then let's hope the club make the offer in the next few days. I'm sure he will expect much higher wages now than he would have if we had signed him up in January.
bennyboyt11 Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 If he wants higher wages, he deserves higher wages. Top players cost more, and at the moment, he's a top player for us.
Mercer Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Let's wait and see, it wasn't particularly easy getting him to sign his previous one if I recall. I am with you on this one, might be easier said than done when other clubs, undoubtedly, make their interest known, if they have not done so already !!!. We desperately need him to sign - he's a huge talent that will only get bigger.
Exiled in Toronto Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Hoilett and his dad have always taken the long view about his career, ever since he was a nipper in Canada. There's no way they would have signed a contract in feb not knowing what division we'd be in. I'm hoping that the fact that our plan has been 'give it to Junior' will convince them that we are the stage on which he can shine for the next couple of years at least, as opposed to the risk of being a bit part player at a bigger club. I think they will see the logic and long term benefit in that.

I'm sure he will expect much higher wages now than he would have if we had signed him up in January. He'll want a guarantee of being played centrally and not wide as he wanted that under Sam. It's his old man Sam had to convince and he did that by flying out to Canada, to meet him. He's a player we must keep I hope we can.
Exiled_Rover Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 If he wants higher wages, he deserves higher wages. Top players cost more, and at the moment, he's a top player for us. He's a big difference maker for a team like us. Sign him up to whatever he wants (within reason of course).
mattyc2422 Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Has he signed yet? Has he signed yet? Has he signed yet? Has he signed yet? Has he signed yet? Has he signed yet? Has he signed yet?

I think they will see the logic and long term benefit in that. Oh yeah, I'm resigned to the fact that eventually we'll lose him. Like Phil Jones, he's too good. It's vital for the team that we retain his services for the next two seasons though and yes, Bentley, Santa Cruz, and Bellamy should be used as cautionary tales for him.
vintageadidas Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Well done Junior. I remember not too long ago the BBE calling him "toilet" He has the potential to turn into a quality player. Those of us who saw him in the reserves under Sam knew he could produce the goods. Well done Steve Kean on pushing this lad!
Backroom Tom Posted May 23, 2011 Backroom Posted May 23, 2011 To be fair vintage the whole BBE didn't ever slag him off. I still think the real reason a contract wasn't signed in jan was junior himself may have been unsure and it looks better saying we will discuss at the end of the season rather than we have offered a contract and he doesn't want to sign it. He will go next year and he should aim for better things in his career but I hope he signs so we can maximise profit next year. The lad is destined for the top I think.
tony gale's mic Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 I think if we start being a top half club again, he might well stay on for another couple of seasons. He doesn't seem like the sort of person that'd be demanding a move to a big club at the earliest opportunity.
magicalmortensleftpeg Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Great to see that he stopped feigning that injury in order to engineer a move away eh?
Mattyblue Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Well done Junior. I remember not too long ago the BBE calling him "toilet" Aye, Wigan away last seasons, three cretins behind me shouted it every time he touched he ball. Haha chortle, chortle!
chris Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Aye, Wigan away last seasons, three cretins behind me shouted it every time he touched he ball. Haha chortle, chortle! They were the voices in your head, it was you that was shouting
bluebruce Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Aye, Wigan away last seasons, three cretins behind me shouted it every time he touched he ball. Haha chortle, chortle! Joke's on them. Careers as scouts do not await them.

He doesn't seem like the sort of person that'd be demanding a move to a big club at the earliest opportunity. We can but hope - this lad has the potential to be even better than Duff.
Steve Moss Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 Junior to get 40,000/week. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Blackburn-ready-to-offer-Junior-Hoilett-new-contract-worth-40k-per-week-after-avoiding-relegation-article740189.html
joey_big_nose Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 Junior to get 40,000/week. http://www.mirrorfoo...icle740189.html Frankly he deserves it, Already our best attacking player. He has got so much about him that I can only see him being a massive success next season. If he signs (please!!) he will be Venky's money second big benefit after the loan of J Jones.
