Even now, after everything that has happened since Sam left, you still don't get it do you ?

Going back to Hoilett, it seems the rumours earlier today were on the mark. The lad's obviously been tapped up, and will probably be gone in January.

No that's not clueless.

What is clueless is that we have Kean has manager of BRFC!!!

Plus why wasn't Hoilett contract not sorted last season why he was on fire for us.

I reckon Hoilett would stay if we had a better quality manager in place like Hughes or O'Neill.

No surprise really. Clearly an outstanding talent, and had to be very strongly pursaded to sign a 2 year deal under allardyce to stay back in 2009 (a very short deal indeed for a young player), that on its own showed he was thinking of leaving in the short term even nder a decent management team. Reslts have been poor, the club has slid into full blown crisis, and I doubt he has ever really entertained the idea of signing since he showed the sort of quality since Jan that would have turned heads of the biggest clubs and Phil Jones left.

Weirdly this is not such a massive deal at the moment because we have so many (admittedly not as good) similar players in the squad. The cynic in me guesses Vukcevic was signed as a replacement for Hoilett. If we used money received for Hoilett and bought a decent central midfielder it could make a massive difference.

Anyhow, key is to try and get as much as we can for him. A 15m player, but with the contract situation we will do well to get 8m.

A big part of the collatral damage of Hoilett going is that a lot of the other established talent - Olsson, Nzonzi, Samba maybe even Robinson - are going to think that they should be making serious plans to get out too..... sad times.

We'd be on 0 points right now probably if not for Hoilett. He's been our main attacking threat and the only real danger to opposition teams. I thought it spoke volumes about his ability that against a high-flying, expensively assembled Man City side, Hoilett still looked the best player on the pitch for the first 45 minutes.

I said a few weeks ago that if Kean was not replaced, we would continue to falter, Hoilett will leave, followed by Samba and then we will be in full-blown crisis mode (if we're not in it already).

I could be wrong, but it all seems highly likely right now.

The Observer reporting Spurs expect to beat off Newcastle to sign Blackburn youngster Junior Hoilett. So that's £10-15m worth of player walking away fro nothing as predicted sometime ago.

Still no doubt the Raos and Kean have longterm plans for world domination funded by selling billions of cheap shirts across India. meanwhile the last quality attacking ourfield player is about to leave..............priorities seem a little skewed to me.

Jbn, I'm not sure how you've missed Samba doing his best to get out of the club for the last 18 months even prior to the hoilett situation!! Samba is only here as no other managers rate him as highly as us, not sure why but if he'd had the chance to leave he would have gone long ago.

We would be entitled to compensation, Sturridge went for 5 million to chelsea and he was an unknown,i would expect at least 8 million, but we get nothing if he moves abroad.

Personally think it would not matter who the manager is junior was always leaving, going where the money is.

Couldn't agree more. I think he has always wanted to go but who can blame him. I would do the same

We have one threat and he's going in Jan.- if you don't think we were already deep in the proverbial, then you must surely know now.

Who's to blame - well, it's plain and simple, Venky's and Kean.

Why - well, some of us were advocating back in Jan. / Feb. that it should have been signed, sealed and delivered BEFORE he became really hot property. Instead, Rovers were preoccupied, IMO, by shoring-up Kean's position by 'buying' the mouthpieces - Samba (who it seems would love to go but nobody wants him !), Nelsen, Salagado & Roberts. What sh1te business that looks, IMV.

By March / April it was already too late, father and son realised just how good he was and all they were waiting for was the 'right' club to come in. It was whispered that Liverpool were close. Now Spurs fit the bill.

The Hoilett episode confirms all that is wrong with our club. We are, I believe, in an absolutely total mess and managed by clueless owners and administrators.

Sad, sad times and I fear all that all will be left of our once great club come 12 months time, will be a, metaphorically, burnt-out shell.

As contracts were handed out left, right and centre early in the year, the ONE player that actually needed signing up was 'told the concentrate on his football until the summer'.

Now that was either another stupid decision made at this football club or more BS by Kean as Hoilett was stalling.

A contract with a decent clause should have been agreed months ago, as his contract runs down and the team falls to new depths, the power is all his.

This is more rank bad management thst will lose us millions.

24 hours indeed.

I'd say it's effectively that now.

It's most definitely not the same club we all started supporting.

I'm all for leaving things until the summer, but offering other players deals and not the hottest property at the club seems madness on the face of it.

If I was the Roas I'd be offering him what he wants, but I can imagine Kean telling them:

"Let him go, give me 2m and replace him with like for like"

at this point the Roas burst into applause, Kean has saved the day yet again, brilliant manager.

GROSS MISMANAGMENT YET AGAIN :angry2:

yeah good point, he's probably telling the Roa's that Petrovic, Simon and Goodwillie are already worth 6 million each

Who knows what Kean tells Venkys but I do believe he would say he can find another 25 year £2 million signing to replace him, just needs a few years to settle.

At some point, gross incompetence gets so bad it starts to look like out-and-out malevolence.

Maybe Jerome's got another son we could sign?

Will be a huge loss, an outstanding talent who will become a fantastic Premier League player. I can't blame him for leaving with the very poor situation at the club.

He has the potential to be a fantastic player, but his end product leaves a lot to be desired. Still in this market he's worth £10m easily.
