It's in a much better state than when I started watching in 1975

We had fans, players and directors all behind the club. We might have been cash strapped and in a lower division but we were united behind the club.

Is that the case now?

We have fans fighting each other, players that don't want to be at the cub and a board(?) that knows eff all about running a football club.

Still if you're shallow enough to think being in the premier league is the 'be all and end all' for a football club then good luck to you, many of us see our club as much more than just that.

So the Hoilett story as yet is still a "my cousins uncles hairdressers dog groomer told my sisters boyfriends gym instructors mechanics charwalla" that Hoilett has ended contract talks?

God help the servers if it actually is more than just the usual twitter bull

Though none of us expect him to sign anyway if he ha even half a braincell

I do not think he would now sign for Rovers with Kean in charge under any circumstances.

IMV, it's going to take one helluva of a managerial appointment for Hoilett senior & junior to have a change of mind.

Yeah - why sign for a manager that he has openly stated has helped his career to progress - who gave him his regular chance in the first team ?

If I was Hoilett I would be fairly happy to sign a new contract - as Kean seems intent in totally ruining the team pattern to accomodate him in the team (why doesnt he play him in a free role just behind the striker is beyond me). What does a contract mean anyway - he gets more wages when he signs the new contract - he will play in the first team under Kean (no guarantee under a new manager) - and the contract will be meaningless if we get relegated, as we won't be able to afford his wages and will need whatever fee we can generate.

But hey - why not use this as another excuse to bash Kean - far more entertaining :angry2:

Why would he do that?

He can run the contract down, have his pick of clubs and like most free transfer signings he can get himself a hefty sign on fee.

But he can do that under any manager - why is it suddenly Kean's fault ?

If he doesn't sign a new contract - why is the blame not with Hoilett for not showing a bit of loyality to the club that stuck by him ?

Because Kean has made us into such a terrible team, that looks like it will get relegated, that he probably doesn't want to sign a new contract with a sinking team. If Kean or the owners had done the right thing and walked away or sacked him, and bought in a proper manager then Hoilett would probably have signed a new contract.

Surely getting junior on a new contract should have been a number one priority back in January when we were dishing them out like confetti?

Junior has already stated that he wouldn't have signed a new contract at that point - as he wanted to see whether he would be given first team opportunities or not.

Please see previous reply - Junior has gone one record saying how much Kean has done for him. This isn't about the manager - it is about release clauses - and an unsubstantiated twitter rumour.

Lets be honest no ambitious player would sign a new contract with this fool in charge.

I know other players were convinced but that was before everyone found out just how crap Kean is at every aspect of his job. It must be some what embarrasing for the players to have to back their manager knowing full well he is the worst manager they have ever worked with. But they have to be professional I guess.

Strikes me the London press are at it:

We play Spurs shortly and they (the london press) are trying to destabilise. Not the first time, not the last as we can guarentee that Chelsea will be in for Samba just before we play them or at least they will be according to the (london) press. (Sky bet should take this on) This is becoming boring.

However, not surprised the lad will not sign a new contract but I don't think we should be too worried as Kean will not be manager by mid December. Hoping and praying that will be enough time for the new man to lift us to 17th come May.

Pretty sure in my mind the Hoillett's already have a deal wrapped up with another club. Yeah I know tapping up is illegal but in my blinkered opinion it has already happened here just as it did with Jones.

When get we get rid of this plonker we call a manager.

If Kean continues to stay in charge then we will be relegated. Why would Hoilett sign a contract at a club that, as things stand, is going down?

Things would be 10 times easier if we were sat in a good position in the league. That we are not is all down to Kean.

Of course Kean is responsible for the present league position. He has absolutely no tactical sense (if you saw the debacle that was Rovers v City, you would have to agree), very poor buys during the summer, did not address the areas we needed. Only good buy was Scott Dan, and if rumors are to be believed Kean was not involved in that purchase.

I fear we are part of a scam, we were expected to be relegated last season (no other reason to put a manger in-place with absolutely no experience of management, never mind premier league experience) and persist with him now when we are haveing our worst start to a season ever.

I'm not even sure he was a good buy. We needed a central midfielder 10 times more than we needed a centre half, where we already had Samba, Givet, Nelsen and Hanley.

We've seen already this season that it doesn't matter how good your centre back pairing is if you have a woeful central midfield. That £7 million should have gone on a central midfielder (with the loose change bringing in cover at left back to cover Givet moving to the middle).

And with the previous regime for only signing him up for 2 years .... very shortsighted.

Well, although he was wanted by clubs in Germany, Allardyce got him to sign a new contract. That's two years more than this muppet has got. Who knows, Junior might already have been signed up again if the people who wanted Sam out hadn't got their way.
