dave birch Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 I put the loss of wickets down to the fact I'm watching. This is the first I've seen, and only listened to about one over in the first two days.
LeftWinger Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 A couple more quick wickets and England are right back in this. If England can keep Australia under 480, they could yet win it (ambitious I know).

dave birch Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 OK, I'll go to bed. Got a morning of accounts tomorrow, but then, I might sneak in one more friday night ale......
Flopsy Posted July 10, 2009 Author Posted July 10, 2009 not going to get much play tomorrow due to the weather
Exiled_Rover Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 What a boring test match this has turned out to be.
Iceman Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 You an Aussie fan Iceman? Im an aussie fan yes *wink*. I enjoy the way Australia plays the game, its always exciting stuff. South Africa just bores me, despite some good cricketers in AB De villiers and JP Duminy. I played schools cricket against Duminy when we played them in a knock out competition. Sadly we lost, we were never any good as we were from a school where we didnt have a field to play on, or any facilities.
Flopsy Posted July 10, 2009 Author Posted July 10, 2009 What a boring test match this has turned out to be. Wait until England bat again having to save the match, probably for 5 sessions after Johnson and Haddin go bezerk tomorrow morning
1864roverite Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 Rain is forecast so dont hold out much hope of a full days play. Bloody Welsh weather
neekoy Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 I think Australia will probably win, they will push on a score 550 or so and bowl England out cheaply. England may have the weather to save them again.
dave birch Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 The weather forecast looks bleak to say the least. My money's on the draw
AussieinUk Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 Tricky to predict atm IMV. I am hoping for a win, but I think you may be right db... Pity Clarke didn't push on to get his ton..

AussieinUk Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 What is everyone's thought on hussey's form? Great player but this slump has been dragging on a bit.... Played very well in the England Lions game.. knock of 150 Hopefully he wiil get a chance to turn around his test form, in the 2nd inns. I know he hasn't hit a ton in 20 odd innings to date..
RibbleValleyRover Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 Well there can only be one of two results, a draw or an Aussie win my money is on a draw. If it doesn't rain all day then the Aussie's could put a decent target and England will have to bat for the draw. You don't want to be batting on the final day on this pitch.
Eddie Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 Anyone know if the song that they just used is an actually released recording?
brfcshabba Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 Nothing happening whatsoever, I'm usually a fan of Strauss but I'm afraid he seems clueless. They pick two spinners yet neglect to put them on when it is quite clear that the seamers don't even look like taking a wicket.
dave birch Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 The trumpeter is getting a better response than the Enland bowlers. For at least one over there was't a slip. My feeling is that both teams realise that this game can't be won, so the Aussies will bat and bat and bat, just to tire the bowlers.
AussieinUk Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 New ball due.. (3rd in this innings) pitch starting to turn..
RibbleValleyRover Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 Very well played Marcus North, disciplined knock.
dave birch Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 Aussies just turning the screws. They don't even look like getting out.
AussieinUk Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 Very well played Marcus North, disciplined knock. Totally agree RVR.. Good to see the lad continuing his fine form with the bat
