SYRovers Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 If Vieri is worth a chance then Lita most DEFINATLEY is. No argument.

Taggart Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Nicko et al, Mirror says today that Reo-Coker and Tuncay both valued at 5 million and possible swap deal ? If they are both available, and valued at 5 mill each, they would both improve our team. I have a lot of time for Reo-Coker, has the work ethic, bit of grit, can play football, and gets from box to box and would slot in nicely in our midfield. Tuncay, we all know he has some talent, premiership experience and quite cheap in comparison to strikers being bandied about with no proven premiership experience - granted I think you have said befor ehe is on massive wages, but its just a thought. Wasn`t sure how accurate the valuations are to be honest ! Lita looked very promising a few years ago. Obviously something's gone horribly wrong with his career. I'd still give him a look on a trial, especially as we have no other options by the sounds of it. Lita, bags of pace and energy, but we already have a bigger version of him already in Jason Roberts, who similary lacks the finishing skills when time to think about it !
mickbrown Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Reo Coker is a big time charlie. He thinks he is a lot better than he actually is. He also caused a dressing room split at West Ham which was why Curbishley couldn't wait to sell him...
Taggart Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Reo Coker is a big time charlie. He thinks he is a lot better than he actually is. He also caused a dressing room split at West Ham which was why Curbishley couldn't wait to sell him... Craig Bellamy had a public fall out with Shearer and Souness - still came to Rovers and was very successfull, no reason why Reo-Coker couldn`t. From what you have seen since he left West Ham, what gives you the impression he is a big time Charlie and that his opinion is overated of himself, can`t remember him ever coming across big headed at Villa ? BTW do you think he is worse than what we have got out of interest ?
EwoodGlory Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 If Vieri is worth a chance then Lita most DEFINATLEY is. No argument. I would rather we looked at Viduka than those 2, surprised he hasn't been mentioned yet.
accyrover Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 I would rather we looked at Viduka than those 2, surprised he hasn't been mentioned yet. NOW you're talking overweight and past it........ Accyrover
Hughesy Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Dont like Reo-chocker at all, much rather have Tuncay of the two.
bonger 26 Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 agree with taggart i think reo cocker and tuncay would be brilliant signings for us.
DezFitz Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Nicko, its has been reported Negredo is going to end up in the premiership? Is the club Liverpool? Do you know anything regarding Huntelaar?
Hi Mack Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Dont like Reo-chocker at all, much rather have Tuncay of the two. the two are very very different players! I'd prefer NRC for midfield and tuncay for up front!
Sandiway Blue Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 http://www.skybet.com/skybet?action=GoEvType&id=10003041 Some interesting odds for crouchy here.......
Hughesy Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 I dont think we can afford both + a striker though. Id go with Tuncay in a creative midfield role & a striker. http://www.skybet.com/skybet?action=GoEvType&id=10003041 Some interesting odds for crouchy here....... Toure fav to be at city, rather than arsenal - 2/7 Lescott fav to be at city, rather than everton too - 4/11
DeadlyDirk Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 I think we have enough hard working midfielders who can't score or pass more than ten yards, Reo-Coker wouldn't be an improvement on what we have. Tuncay is a good player but one of his biggest problems seems to be finding a natural position for him, it seems to be almost an Italian number ten role which English clubs just don't really use. He'd be a good signing but I'm not sure he's what we really need unless we can afford him after getting a 15 goal a season striker in. Always thought Lita looked decent a few years ago but must have gone off the boil I can only guess or others would have looked at him sooner, get him in on trial if he's interested, otherwise not worth the risk even on a one year deal or so. Hope we turn down the reported interest in Fielding (Started typing Friedel then haha), if it's only a few hundred thousand as suggested then I'd rather we said no and loaned him out again, still think he has potential, don't want him being another Shay Given!
nicko Posted July 21, 2009 Author Posted July 21, 2009 Those betting markets are very interesting, but I don't think it would take much money to get the odds down so low.
Hughesy Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Nicko - you heard anything about any more outgoings - i.e. Zurab, Rigters etc?!
nicko Posted July 21, 2009 Author Posted July 21, 2009 Nicko - you heard anything about any more outgoings - i.e. Zurab, Rigters etc?! Zurab is an odd one, seems to have missed the boat. I notice Rigters is now sub for the reserves...are they trying to tell the lad something?
DeadlyDirk Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Those betting markets are very interesting, but I don't think it would take much money to get the odds down so low. Yeh I didn't realise how sensative the odds are controlled by the bookies, they probably have to assume the worst sometimes and not that some joker is having a lucky punt on some high odds. I realised last week how quickly some of these player transfer odds can change when they were on Sky Sports News talking about Ribery to Liverpool and how the odds went from 66/1 overnight to about 10/1 the next day because a considerable amount of money had been placed on him, which was revealed to be a somewhat low figure from what I was expecting, £200. Some people have more money than sense you have to remember, they'll listen to a quick story on the paper which was probably started by an agent and bang a few quid on the signing, suddenly the odds start coming down and the story rolls on.
Presty On Tour Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Zurab is an odd one, seems to have missed the boat. I notice Rigters is now sub for the reserves...are they trying to tell the lad something? Rigters should rub some viagra on his head, might make him think harder as he was such a flop! As for Zurab, I have a lot of time for him. An honest pro who does a good job and never causes a fuss when he has been left out of the side. Himself and Nelsen were an excellent partnership back in 2005/6 and it was one of the main reasons we qualified for Europe that season. I hope he stays, excellent replacement but I can see him becoming frustrated not paying first team football sooner rather than later.
MeanGreenMachine Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Nicko any news on jonas guitierez at newcastle? Out of all their players he is the only one worth having imo. 2 good full, plenty on running and can take on people, given a good manager and a decent side around him i think he could be a star.
DeadlyDirk Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Zurab is an odd one, seems to have missed the boat. I notice Rigters is now sub for the reserves...are they trying to tell the lad something? I think Rigters being on the bench behind the likes of Blackman certainly tells you enough. He was full of so much promise as well after his cameo in the U21's. Did nothing at Barnsley last year, didn't even score a goal in nearly 20 appearances. I'm sure we'd be happy to move him on but perhaps he's on relatively high wages for what he'd get offered somewhere else and it's just a case of waiting for his contract to run out. I hope Zurab stays, he's a good reliable backup defender who we wouldn't be able to replace with the cash we'd get for him. He's been a good servant though and never really complained about being on the bench so if he wants to move on I couldn't hold it against him.
Baz Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Nicko any news on jonas guitierez at newcastle? No goals and no assists for N'castle....
MeanGreenMachine Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 And? Everytime i saw him he was quality... Worked hard and took people on, two good feet aswell. I think he deffo has ability he just needs a club who arnt bobbins.
Hughesy Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 SSN - 20.42 Paul Hart has revealed that Sunderland are the only club to have lodged an acceptable offer for Peter Crouch.
Fraserkirky Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Tuncay at 5-6m is great business, although his wages will be high but so would Crouch, bent, gignac, chamakah!! Would Tuncay,Di Santo and spare money for a midfielder not represent better value than a 12million pound gamble? i dunno about that gutierrez dude, I saw him a few times last season, he looked great in 2 games I saw and pish in the other two, so i dunno, seems like a moody South American to me, hopefully Di santo doesn't have that gene if he comes.
John Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Article below not really saying anything... Nicolas Anelka, the Barclays Premier League's top scorer last season with 19 goals, will be the first choice partner for Drogba, but Ancelotti also has Salomon Kalou, Franco Di Santo and Daniel Sturridge, 19,
