There's no late news tonight. No major news and too many people are at the Keith Andrews contract re-signing street parties.

But I have just heard a really odd one...sadly too late for the paper...so it will have to keep hopefully 24 hours.

One of your lads is going out on loan...shock one.

Tonight's or tomorrow's star prize to the person who gets the name and the club. Just a bit of fun.

Warnock to Villa?

Ok it's wishful thinking as he's your best player and that wouldn't be a shock it would be unthinkable.

Think it might be a young player. Alex Marrow to Crew Alexandra is my guess. Only think that its a young player because Lee on the official boards said that on rovers website tomorrow will be Big Sam talking about a young player.

In fairness at the 'Audience with the manager' in the spring SA did intimate that RSC would prob be leaving in the summer. So he will have been looking for likely replacements since then.

The main problem for Sam at that time is knowing what league they would be playing in. Different players for different league, if they had be relegated. Transfer cost / wage etc / willingness to come to Rovers all depended on knowing where the would be playing.

I do believe Sam and the scouts would have been searching everywhere for players for Rovers. Had a list of possibilities etc and ended up stunned at the prices quoted.

Man City and the bigger over seas clubs have not helped matters. After all if a big club is willing to buy a player for £80 million - a smaller club can easily say they have a player who is half as good as that player so slap a £40 mill price on the players head and so on down the chain.

So finding a player - when you only have £13 million to spend - becomes a lot harder - especially when you want more than one player for that money.

Sadly for Rovers the days of buying players for big money are gone - our dream has come and gone. Some supporters are so used to being in that dream that they forget to face reality. Rovers do not have the dosh to compete as well as other clubs in the transfer market - they can only buy players that can do a job for the club and not the superstars.

Sam may well have known for certain that RSC was off - but finding a replacement is not as easy as some on here think it is. I suppose Sam has also to think of January as well. Injuries / suspensions / league position etc.

Until the big clubs finish dealing amongst themselves - the smaler clubs have to wait and hope everybody else comes to realise they cannot put outragous prices on 'their players' heads - then the market will move.

The first name that popped to mind was Grella for some reason. Sam seems impressed by nzonzi, Andrews signing a new deal, dunn to return plus perhaps a potential new arrival in the next few weeks. We seem to have too many average players in there; enough perhaps to mean one's on the move.

Bennie Mccarthy - club would be outside the prem.

I really don't think it would be a striker, especially not one of Roberts or Mccarthy. That would be suicide. Come on Nicko, put us out of our misery

Fringe players out on loan are not shock loan exits - Olsson, Judge, Gally etc wouldnt be a suprise

Maybe not but then again Paddy Kenny failing a drugs test hardly rocked the football world to it's foundations did it.

Coyley better be careful with the style of football he plays,or he might see Burnley do a West Brom. Pretty football might work for Man United, but not for Burnley in the premiership.

That's the spirit.

"LUMP IT!" "GET IT FORWARD FASTER!" "KICK HIM!"

Don't dare try to actually play football, you'll only get relegated. <_<

I think that was done yesterday!!

Unless it is to generate funds for to buy a better player (wage) and hopeful transfer at another time.

Wouldn't be at all happy if that was the case. Is the shock that it's a loan to Burnley. Zurab?

i believe it won't be either nzonzi or hoilett. think nzonzi would be a part of sam's team this years, as well as hoilett. and i guess hoilett isn't allowed to go on loan after rovers have finally gotten their permit for him. would be strange to send him out on loan again. my guess would be van heerden to plymouth. have a feeling sam might think he need to adapt to the english game before playing him in the premier.

I'm really worried about what this potential loan is. The shock now makes me thing its a very good player going on loan? A player that is an integral member of the squad. When will you tell us Nicko?

*** Cough Cough ***

I notice Huntelaar is still a Madrid player, he will end up at one of those London boys as I said

Can't believe all you read in the papers, you should know that :D

But which one is he going to??????

This is what Lee said on the official site today?

My question to Sam simply was "how do you think the younger lads have done on the trip". I never mentioned Steven in particular, Sam did.

The rest of his answer will be a story for tomorrow :D

Could this mean that Sam said a younger lad is going out on loan?
