I don't see who else it could be.

N'Zonzi- Sam has been raving about him a bit, talk of him being in the squad for the first game.

Hoilett- Surely would be wierd to send him on loan when we fought so hard to get him a permit, how would the authorities take it if he was loaned out?

Reid- Can't see Reidy going, not fully fit yet.

Dunny- Same as Reidy not fully fit, plus he is a key member of the squad when fit.

Judge? Possible, but he has looked a bit decent so far in preseason.

Doran?- Touted by Sam as our best youth prospect (personally i think that's Judge).

Gally- Doubtful, not that long ago Sam was going on about giving him one last crack at making it in the prem.

What about Zurab? Fielding? Brown? Treacy (just noticed a possible loan deal being mentioned).

*** Cough Cough ***

I notice Huntelaar is still a Madrid player, he will end up at one of those London boys as I said

Can't believe all you read in the papers, you should know that :D

But which one is he going to??????

Well, you should know...

Awesome - TREACY OUT - Another great piece of business.

Why is that a suprise loan Nicko?

Well, it was a surprise to me...

Treacy was being pushed for a first team place at the end of last season and in pre-season, now he has gone.

So Pedersen doesn't have any competition or maybe Hoilett is earmarked for that role.

Never been sure about Treacy myself, but it still struck me as shock that he was being allowed out on loan. Your squad is small enough as it is.

Wonder if it's a swap for Gary Speed?

I do hope it is, Speed is a good coach, youngish with modern ideas and knows Sam well!!

Keith Treacy annoyed me the last game of the season, when i took my little sister to meet the players before the game. She wanted all of the players autographs on a football and baseball cap, including the youth players. When we saw Keith Treacy we approached him to get his autograph and I eventually pulled her away from him. He was totally ignoring her holding out her things to be signed and was too busy messing about from his friends shouting and swearing about the Ireland U21 manager and how he will never get to play for Ireland. The club is known as a family club, he turned up to the coach looking half dressed wearing the Rovers suit. He shouldn't be allowed to disgrace the club like this. My sister was disappointed and upset that she didn't get to get his autographs. She is 9 years old.

The USA could be somewhere to look now, they are quickly becoming a force in International football!!

While I am biased (as an American), I have been wondering why Sam doesn't raid portions of the U.S. National team. Brian Ching (a big target man), Landon Donovan (striker/midfielder) and Michael Brady (midfielder), have all done well internationally and should do well in the EPL. While I might be wrong, I can't imagine they cost of players in the U.S. is at the level of the EPL.

Also, there are school kids here who huge fans of Donovan and Brady. They'd watch the games, if they were in the EPL. New overseas blood for the BRFC.

What have you heard about speed? Done all his badges hasnt he, not a bad shout....

No I think that mug Ince saw him as potential future left wing, the fans didnt. He played abit last season, but wasnt that down to MGP being injured and poor? Givet can play left back, so Ollson or Warnock can cover for MGP on the left, or like you say Hoilett.

The USA should now be a good hunting ground, they are the up and coming nation and a real force now in International football!!

Lads I have coached are now on football scholarships there and the facilities are excellent!!

I was just thinking out loud...but when you let a fringe man go on loan like that it does make you wonder if there is something else behind it.

After you got Danny Simpson in a swap for Eric Steele anything is possible?

If David Fevre goes to Man City could you maybe ask for Bellamy back?

Anything new happened with Fevre?

Anything in Onuha (sp?) from City going to Everton?

At least clubs now know Everton have £9m ready to spend after they missed out on 2 targets.

Onuoha and City may have some legs if the Lescott thing happens...which probably will happen.

Everton seem to find it very hard to spend money. The Naughton thing is a big surprise.

The USA should now be a good hunting ground, they are the up and coming nation . . .

I am now 43 years old. Speaking only from my personal observations, when I was growing up soccer (sorry "football") did not exist as a sport so far as the boys were concerned. Now its everywhere. My small town has a population of about 35,000 (with a very large retiree pool), but has over 800 kids in AYSO. The high school has 2 teams for both boys and girls, and a plan to give each a third team. The colleges and universities I've visited over the last few years have soccer lines overlapping their football fields.

From what I can see, its the same all over the southwest. Unfortunately, most of the kids follow the Spanish or South American teams, though a healthy minority follow the Big 4 in the EPL. If I had to guess, Liverpool would likely be the most popular of the English teams amongst the kids.

I suspect that in the next 10-20 years international football is going to look hugely different, and the U.S. will be fielding some very strong teams. So the BRFC should be cutting edge and still a march on its competitors. Go for it, Sam!

WHAT A GREAT DAY

Rigters released

And Treacy out on loan.

God, Sam has got rid of some real crap this summer

I don't think Rigters has been released, yet, though he did play for Southend on trial. I doubt anyone connected with that site has any better idea than anyone else since they seem to make a living out of publishing Nicko's updates as their own info 5 minutes after it has been posted.

I always liked Rigters and felt a bit bad for him, he just set a standard for himself that in reality was too high for him after his form in the U21's.
