No I just get fed up with all the negative crap on here when its obvious Sam is seeing things that us fans have been saying for years.....he's fixing them bit by bit, now lets just hope he continues to fix things.

Last season:

we were a man short at the back- he brought in Givet as cover

we were also seriously lacking a right sided player - he brought in Diouf

Both players had big impacts on our survival.

Nicko,

Apart from a couple of strikers, what other positions is Allardyce still looking to strengthen in? We still only have one recognised right back in Jacobsen and our central midfield isn't looking to promising. Or is N'zonzi seen as a solution to that? Could there be any chance we would go in for Reo Cocker? I saw your story on Middlesboough tracking him. One more question sorry, what is the hold up with Zigic? Is he demanding too much or is it just Allardyce keeping his options open?

Also, does anyone know when the Man City tickets go on sale and if there bringing down matchday prices this season?

But Lord Haw Haw wasn't a fifth columnist, was he?

Shurely shome mishtake?

Clumsy syntax - he was the guy who kept broadcasting every night to say we're doomed and we should give in, we don't have an earthly chance, why are we even bothering, it'll be easier on us in the long run if we just stand up and say 'fair cop, we're actually crap'. Remind you of some people on here?

Oh and please stop calling me Shirley

Major development with Crouch...not involving yourselves...going to be busy on this one for a bit.

Don't tell me, Old Twitchy thinks he's a triffic player and would love to sign him for Spurs!

Going up I think - although someone else may be able to confirm that?!

Not sure about our prices but I noticed City fans are up in arms that theirs are £35.00 each as apposed to £26.00 last season.

Any truth in Ashton going to Stoke and Eidur G going to West Ham???

Both would be good for blackburn, ashton has had his problems with injuries but Eidur used to be with Sam at Bolton.

Would be a great addition to replace Roque....

Eidur would be great its just his wage demands that would kill that deal.

Not sure about Ashton at all.

We all know as you say his wage demands are probably far too high for us, perhaps at the end of the window if he hasn't had a better offer he may be tempted. To be honest though, although a talented player he's not a regular goal scorer, he'd be a good addition as well as a goalscorer but not instead of.

Ashton is a good player but never fit, again not what we need right now. Not unless on the cheap and again an addition to another striker, not as our main striker.

Same here.

Some of the things Sam has had to work at......

Right back was highlighted as a problem - he fixed that by signing a right back who defends and wont go off on crazy runs.

Treacy showed last season he wasnt up to it - out on loan

Rigters never re-found his U-21 form - out on loan/ released

Mokoena - Most fans have complained about him for years - gone

Ooijer - Not getting any younger and not 1st choice if all our players are fit - Gone

Givet - Solid since his loan - snapped up on a full time deal

Bad apple in the squad - Cut him loose & as quick as possible to raise funds to buy with (RSC)

2 loanees getting rave reviews (Hoilett & Judge) - so he has brought them back to see what impact they can have

Lack of pace - brought back Hoilett & signed Van Herden

Decide on last season's loan signings - Both Villanueva & Simpson not good enough - sent packing

IF Rigters, Fielding & Treacy all move on, we will of removed 11 players from our wage bill this summer so far, with only 5 coming in so far.

Next steps please sam:

Players still to be reviewed/ maybe sold - Brown, Gally, Zurab, Judge & Andrews (Although it looks like the last 2 will get a chance)

New main Striker

2nd striker - Di Santo would be good for this one

A creative midfielder

Tin hat time from all the doomsday people..........

Quality post Hughesy, well said.

Wouldn't personally have Judge & Andrews in the Next Steps bit but totally agree with all your other comments.

As an aside re the posts from others on the Treacy departure - boy oh boy, I wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of some of you guys. Really disrespectful comments, give the guy a break, there's a vast difference in being at a level below what we need and some of the vitriol poured on the poor soul by some on here. Notice to all young prospects - come to the Rovers academy and be ripped to shreds by your supportive 'fans' - just in case failure isn't enough for you to handle cop some of this on your way out.

Pretty much bang on. So many miserable people on here who have already cemented our doom if we don't sign any more players despite the squad being stronger than it ever has been under Allardyce. We've been carrying a bit of dead wood for too long and I'd rather gamble on an untried, fired up youngster than a known average squad player on significant wages.

Like many have said, Allardyce had us on European form under his tenure, 28 points from 20 games is great given the injuries and lack of time he had. We've got a couple of extra bodies in and a few back from injury. Most presume that the injured players won't play much but it is improbable that they'll have less games than last year.

And we're bound to bring someone else in anyway. Zigic would be where my (gambling) money went. Put him in a system that suits him and I can't see him being an absolute flop. ALmost certainly doesn't have the most potential to be a superstar but we could do with a smidge of stability. 10+ goals, a few knock downs and a general roughing up and unsettling of defenders will do nicely.

How much are they rumouring Zigic to be worth??

bit harsh this Kieran, not really needed to be honest.
Sorry, but there is no need for the guy to get an ego over writing about football transfers in a red top and start slagging people off,I`ve seen him describe people as worms and slugs over this stuff.

And you are among the elite of the football gossip world mongers,Drop the self importance you @#/?.

No need for that Kieran - if you do not like what Nicko writes either don't read it, don't believe it etc - throwing insults though that is not on and no need for it.

Just an unrelated question to any Sunderland fan:

Will Nosworthy and A.Ferdinand be in the starting lineup next season? Need a tips for Fantasy =)

On Rovers:

Chachmah would be great, although I am pretty sure he won't be coming.

For me,,I would be very happy with Kenqwyne Jones, or a last minute, panic - Oscar Cardozo bid =)

Halfwit, I happen to know Graham. So if I want to take the mick, I will take the mick.

Anyway, reading papers is a skill.
