I'm starving for some news!

full fate in sam, that's not what I'm saying, I'm just having a hard time dealing with the suspense.

zigic is top of my list really. anyone have thoughts of our chance/interest in getting him?

Unfortunately, pretty good. He's probably top of the hit list.

Zigic would be pretty good for us I think. He's the one I think we could do with as he's the only one whos got a decent scoring record in a decent league

I think you're just trying to wind me up Ricky. I can tell the way you word it!

We're going to end up with Zigic, Janko or Smith aren't we :(

god, not smith! if sam go for that POS I'm seriously losing respect for the big guy.

wouldn't mind janko though. but he feels more like a gamble compared to ziggy stardust.

I totally agree with that. we dont want smith. i think janko would be the best we can get. At the moment, forwards we been linked with either have high transfer fees or high wage demand or both. I cant see us getting Bent or Crouch. I dont know about Zigic, hes a good player would maybe his wage demand might be too high.

Not at all Den, his scoring record walks all over Santa Cruz's when he joined us. He had one bad spell during his time with valencia but apart from that his scoring record in spain is pretty good.

Really dont see too many other options out there

We're a small club. We can't afford to go out and buy the finished article. We can't even afford Peter Crouch or Darren Bent! We have to take a gamble on a few players. Santa Cruz had a poor goal record at Bayern and a history of injuries, yet he managed to net us £18m for a season's work.

That's why I'm not averse to signing Zigic. As Ricky pointed out, he even has a better track record than Cruz for starters and will fit nicely into Sam's style of play.

Have to keep an eye out for Harry Redknapp spouting off to the media about Samba or Nelsen and about them being good players (the usual sign of Redknapp trying to tap a player up). Especially now as all three of their main central defenders are doubtful for the start of the season.

Are you Arry?!?

SSN - 20.15 Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has admitted he is now in the market for a new centre-back

Nicko, one of my chelsea supporting mates whos usually right on the money says that Di Santo ahs impressed Ancolotti so much hes staying to fight with Sturridge as back ups to Drogba & Anelka.

Says Sheva & Pizarro are on their way out instead.

Please tell me hes wrong.

If the lad is any good, that surely has to be a distinct possibility.

It was always on the cards that a new manager might want to keep him. Can't understand why we seem to have been putting so much store .on this going through.

I don't think the managers buying those players thought they were gambling too heavily. They all had a pedigree. We had little cash then as well.

The difference this time, is that we have taken an absolute fortune for Rocky and Bentley in the last 12 months - somewhere in the region of £28m? Still we head towards the transfer window without bringing in anything like the required quality - for either.

Roque had unfulfilled promise - never having a season of more than 5 goals. Bentley was the same, not having made the grade at Arsenal and only showing glimpses while on loan.

I'm still not against us taking risks like this, as if they don't work out (see Righters) they don't cost us much, relatively speaking.

Beattie is one of those players that has periods where he plays a blinder every week, scores 200 goals and then hibernates for a year or two. Better than Roberts though.

Tuncay would be good, as would Chamknhnh. I'm in two minds about Zigic.

I wish things would move on.

As things are at the moment Zigic or Janko will be brilliant signings.....

I just worry if we wait too late you start panic buying and that is when you start buying the Smiths,Camaras,Harewoods of this world.

If we had Ince in charge i'd be more worried but BS is no mug! His fingers will still be in a few pies yet!

Whats Jardel up to at the moment......His scoring record was tremendous :P

Just seen this interview with Sam

Basically he states we will struggle without a striker signing! HE WIL NOT see us struggle!

Lets all chill! :D
