martonrover Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Big Sam doesn't rate hiom though, does he? I think he considered bidding in Jan
Hi Mack Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Big Sam doesn't rate hiom though, does he? Ashton has(had) the potential to be One of the best English strikers about............ His injuries have been ridiculous! Hes a robust fella yet he could get a broken leg walking down the street! Stoke could have a Cracker on their hands or a overpaid Crock.
MeanGreenMachine Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 As things are at the moment Zigic or Janko will be brilliant signings..... Janko is pants and the sooner people actulay look at him the better...
Hi Mack Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Janko is pants and the sooner people actulay look at him the better... Ive seen him play in a few games and looked impressive.....stuck out when we played Salzburg aswell. A "Pants" player doesnt score that many goals in any league. and the sooner ......................
nicko Posted July 23, 2009 Author Posted July 23, 2009 Nicko, are we one of the clubs after Ross McCormack from Cardiff? 21 goals in 38 games last year in the championship, could do a job! As a plumber.
Commondore Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Caicedo signed for Sporting Lisbon on a one year loan from Manchester city. Shame that. Young, affordable and looked quite effective when he actually got some games with City under his belt.
donis1410 Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 As a plumber. ha ha love it....see you man coyle is going after Russell from my local team Norwich Sh***y? your thoughts?
Mr. E Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 So why did we sell Derbyshire if it's almost August and we can't even buy one striker? And even if we get someone at the end, they won't be much better than Derbs with these prices, let alone a replacement for RSC?
beerwins Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 As a plumber. modern day plumbing requires a bit of intelligence, most pro footballers would be left wanting.
Hughesy Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 MR E - Derbs is not good enough, get over it! He wanted 1st team football or to leave, would you rather we gauranteed him 1st team football and just signed a 4th choice striker then?!?
PAFELL Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 As a plumber. Well it has been mentioned that there are leaks on this board.
steverovers Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Well it has been mentioned that there are leaks on this board.
Torgeir Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 I'd take Beattie back in a shot. As a replacement for Derbyshire perhaps. For Roque? No way.
joey_big_nose Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 So why did we sell Derbyshire if it's almost August and we can't even buy one striker? And even if we get someone at the end, they won't be much better than Derbs with these prices, let alone a replacement for RSC? The time for saying that is in about two or three weeks. We are still on the lookout and it may take a while.
nicko Posted July 23, 2009 Author Posted July 23, 2009 ha ha love it....see you man coyle is going after Russell from my local team Norwich Sh***y? your thoughts? Over my dead and over-sized body. It's been a very odd day, some of the stupidest rumours ever to waste a lot of time over...but there is an explanation on the Crouch drama. Crouch changed his mind and said he would sign for Sunderland this morning. Then by lunchtime he changed it again and said no. Someone - you provide the name - rang him to say they would also bid for him and not to go. A couple of hours later Harry Redknapp went on TV to say how much he rates him but he would be too expensive. Hilarious. The game gets funnier when you hear some of the nonsense that goes on. No Rovers news...apart from Treacy to Sheff U which will happen. How did that one keep for 24 hours? I thought we were being watched. Almost disappointed. Just checked with McCormack's agent. He hasn't asked away yet and isn't going to Celtic. Rovers have to have better players than him on the short list.
rovers1995 Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Is it Wenger, that told Crouch not to go to Sunderland, Nicko? Also, is it true what someone said earlier that Ancelotti wnts to now keep Di Santo at Chelsea as back up to Drogba, Anelka and Sturridge? Another thing Nicko, is it true that Santa Cruz and Teves may miss the first game of the season?
laughatthedingles Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 rovers linked with Robert lewandowski ?spelling? Apparently we've been to watch, anyone heard anything of him?
beerwins Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 The problem is that the so called bigger clubs that need strikers are dragging heels, which makes every striker looking for a move hesitant to join clubs like rovers , (sad but true) My main worry is that we need a striker and it shows , sam wants to play a certain style and the options he has dont fit the bill, i would like to see someone soon as there are things to overcome, language barriers, players gelling ( only takes 1 bad apple to rock the boat) . The longer things take the more i worry about panic buys, i know there is a long list of strikers targetted but as soon as the others decide then so can we.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Will Spurs drop Bent's asking fee to attract a bid from Sunderland so they can maybe get Crouch in? Therefore making Jones available?
American Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 I wonder if [Hassel]Hoffer is any good? Can't be worse value for money than RSC, Adebyor or the alleged fee for Bendtner. Considering the other players that have been quoted at the 10 million I've seen for Bendtner, I think that would be a steal. His season this year reminded me of Adebayor a couple of seasons back - lots of great openings and bad finishing. If he gets the finishing down like Adebayor did, he'll be worth 24 million also.
beerwins Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 rovers linked with Robert lewandowski ?spelling? Apparently we've been to watch, anyone heard anything of him? A legend on fm 2009, polish unless im mistaken, not a target man though and only 21 ish , been linked with the brum in the past. If a player like this has been linked it would suggest that di santo may not be coming after all.
nicko Posted July 23, 2009 Author Posted July 23, 2009 rovers linked with Robert lewandowski ?spelling? Apparently we've been to watch, anyone heard anything of him? Another plumber?
