Iceman Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 If this continues we might get both Jones and Cardozo for free. Cardozo has got alot of talent,so im glad he is not doing to well at the moment. Remember Bruce is also on the lookout for a striker

andyroversmad Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pBi8RtKP8Y Cardozo season 08 - 09 goals
DeadlyDirk Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 who scored benficas second goal? Max Perieria or something like that. A right back I think. Kieran Richardson gave away a horror pass straight to him and he smashed it in from 20 yards, keeper perhaps could have done better but I think he may have been unsighted, terrible by Richardson though. I'm not even sure if Cardoza is still on the pitch. Jones just did all the hardwork, got through on the last man and held off the defender then just seemed to put in an effortless shot, easy save for the keeper, Jones barely tried to get to the follow up.
Stevo Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 I think it was Amorim that scored the second. Not 100% sure though, was eating pizza at the time. EDIT: Yeah I'm wrong I think!! The plus side of this match is that the prices of the two might go down a little, or at least there will be lest interest from others. The Jones effort just mentioned was again very poor. Sunderland are going to be struggling if they don't sort that midfield out. Malbranque is their only good midfielder.
DeadlyDirk Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Kenwyne Jones just gone off for Healy, nobody would be impressed with Jones after this performance, nothing terrible, but did nothing special, needs a good player to play up with him I think.
nicko Posted July 24, 2009 Author Posted July 24, 2009 My guy at the game - in the VIP seats - says Sam is NOT at Sunderland v Benfica. So we can probably score that out.

chaddyrovers Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 If thats true then i would say then hes is going to watch Marc Janko tomorrow.
garyh123 Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Sounds like Lorik Cana will go to Sunderland although his wages are big enough to choke a police horse. http ://www.sunderlandecho.com/sport/SAFC-c...lle.5491278.jp [39 and counting? ] He's just signed a 4 year deal
The Rover of Finland Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Nicko, is it certain that Sam is at some match tonight? Quick view on Livescore tells there isn´t many options.
nicko Posted July 24, 2009 Author Posted July 24, 2009 Nicko, is it certain that Sam is at some match tonight? Quick view on Livescore tells there isn´t many options. I know he's away...and am working overtime to find out where.
DeadlyDirk Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pBi8RtKP8Y Cardozo season 08 - 09 goals The first thing that struck me about that video is the shocking defending, especially the marking in Portgugal, all of his goals were either penalties or close range finishes where he was unmarked on 90% of them. He takes a very good penalty (Do we even win that many penalties?) and looks very strong in the air, can strike it well with both feet which obviously shows why he's been scoring goals but I'm not sure if he's going to get as much space in the box in the premiership and no doubt the stronger premiership defenders will stick a lot tighter to him. I wasn't overally impressed with him in the video, nor what I've seen of him in the Sunderland game so far. I think he's a decent player but heavily relies on excellent service and seemingly defenders going missing, I'm not sure if he's the right player for us. But I have no idea who is!!! He certainly wouldn't be the worst signing but we can't pay an extravagant fee for him in my opinion. nicko, do you know what has your man at the game thought of him, and if BFS isn't there, is there anyone there of note watching him from other clubs?
andyroversmad Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Sam might of sent a scout to the Benfica match.
DeadlyDirk Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 I know he's away...and am working overtime to find out where. Well a few games of note could be Anderlecht vs Genoa, Cologne vs Bayern Munich (Luca Toni??) (What's Podolski doing these days?) Mainz vs Getafe Tottenham vs Barcelona Ajax v Athletico Really not a lot on now unless he was at an early kickoff or watching some obscure target.
nicko Posted July 24, 2009 Author Posted July 24, 2009 He's just signed a 4 year deal Cana to Sunderland...42 and counting...
garyh123 Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Cana to Sunderland...42 and counting... Did you report on us being after Bent
nicko Posted July 24, 2009 Author Posted July 24, 2009 Did you report on us being after Bent Yes, but that one seems to be taking its time...about as long as Crouchy...Cana's arrival will mean Cattermole stays. Good player, by the way.
MI ROVER Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pBi8RtKP8Y Cardozo season 08 - 09 goals you tube you tube remember villaneuva looked fan'bludy'tastic on there !!
blue and whites Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 maby he is at the spurs-barcelona game, looking at barcas new signing keirrison. maby he would be able to get him on loan? or maby looking at eidur? how much did they pay for cana? might be a real gem!
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 Obscure? Anderlecht's Kanu, 6"3 and has Rovers connections as he spent last season on loan at Cercle Brugge. At Bayern plenty of players mentioned on here before, Gomez, Podolski and Luca Toni to name a few.
