Bit of a frenzy starting here.

After months knowing we would need a striker, Sam is going to watch 1 match, make his decision (like the icing on the cake,) and he will then potentially part with £8-10 million....

My guy at the game - in the VIP seats - says Sam is NOT at Sunderland v Benfica.

So we can probably score that out.

gutted!! in that case i hope he has already made his mind up!!

Errrrr

Maybe BS is coming to the States to watch Brian Ching and Kenny Cooper as USA plays Mexico on Sunday...wishful thinking I know! Cooper has scored four goals in six games with the US though and is just 24 years old. Might be a nice second option if Di Santo doesn't pan out.

Nicko, i saw that Bojinov is being linked to Lazio for 4.5million, not a bad fee for someone who ate their brother !!!

The McCormack kid would be a replacement for Derbyshire, personally didn't think that was a bad shout, whether he is better than Derbyshire is debatable though.

Hope we get a fresh name in the mixer this weekend, as it's all becoming a bit stale.

I can't believe Lazio are paying that much for Bojinov - unless it's a package deal including his brother...

McCormack has got a long way to go yet. Not for me at this stage.

Sounds like Lorik Cana will go to Sunderland although his wages are big enough to choke a police horse.

[39 and counting? ]

Cana to Sunderland...42 and counting... ;)

Careful Nicko, don't want anyone accusing you of cheating. Some people on here enjoy doubting you too much as it is.

Thanks for clearing that up guys... I know there's some weird traditions in some foreign countries but that would obviously be a little extreme!!!

(I know, I still look like an idiot... but I'm quite used to that!!! )

Anyway for what its worth, my mate who is a City fan, reckons that Bojinov is class, if he can stop snapping his legs, he'd be a big part of the main squad there... I'd say if he ws fit he'd be worth a punt, but he's not the kind of striker that we are in the market for!!!

No thanks on Ching! Dear god, he doesn't have anything close to the pace, atheticism, touch or stamina to deal with the EPL.

Cooper, I like. He was once a part of ManU's youth setup, did a loan spell at oldham. When I saw the US match in Philly, I truied to get his attention when he was kicking it about at halftime telling him to call Sam, but he never heard me! :) He's a big lad, still young, has some decent touch. She should start taking over for Ching here shortly, in fact if Ching hadn't been injured and therefore not at the confed cup, Cooper would have seen a lot more time in these Gold Cup games, which would have been nice.

Nicko, has there been any developments in the new contracts for Dunn, Reid and Pedersen because all three of their contracts end in the summer of 2010?

sure pedersen will get a deal............really ain't a reason to rush/care about a deal for the other 2
