nicko, does that mean Sam watched someone last night too?

I have not had that confirmed, but making a lot of progress on this right now.

For one reason and another I am going to have to go dark on this in the meantime...

But there will be a 12 o'clocker if I can crack it.

Daily Mail - The Insider

OSCAR CARDOZO

Benfica to Blackburn - The Insider says: 2/5

Pretty in pink: Rovers target Oscar Cardozo

Paraguay international striker who is just over 6ft 4ins tall and 26 yars of age. Sound familiar?

Cardozo is Roque Santa Cruz's strike partner with the national side and could be following in his footsteps to Blackburn.

Rovers have spread their net far and wide as they look to bring in a main man up front and Cardozo is one of those on the radar.

Other Premier League clubs are also interested with several after a tall target man and Cardozo has a better strike rate than Santa Cruz.

Anyone seen much of Cardozo playing.............I must admit I don`t know much about the guy other than his strike rate, RSC partner and he is a tall geezer :-)

Ruud is out until September at least isn't he? He definately won't be considered for the moment at least, maybe one for January. The striker could be anybody and to be honest, the whole thing is starting to get a little tiresome. Whoever gets signed, I will support them.

I am thinking that when we sign someone it has to be very well considered and we are probably very sure that this is our right man. Therefore no matter who we sign I will trust JW and Sam on this! (Except if we end up with Davies :P)

Even if they are a former player who looks like he has a fondness for eating many pastry products?

It does sound like things may be moving, and my hopes are for the likes of Bojan and not Samaras to be signed.

I would happily take Davies back now even though I think he was our worst ever signing back in the days of £7.25 million. He is a much more experienced player now and will come with much less expectation. He will be a great signing for this team.

I think most of the board will agree with you, depending on the price. 5m or less? Yep, everyone would be on board. 10m or more? Probably nobody.

It's finding that threshold somewhere in between that will decide whether Davies is a good pick or not.

Well done Nicko for calling the Zat Knight transfer, has gone through this morning! So now we have 2 senior CB's!

Nicko fancy getting all Nostradamus on some replacements for big Zat, do you see a Hangeland maybe, or a Bruno Alves. C'mon positive thoughts!

Yeah, I totally agree with that. Five million would justify a move in my opinion in the current market. If we have to go to six or so then so be it but anything nearer to ten million would surely be a no-go. You may as well risk ten million on a younger player with sell on value if Bolton are asking for that much.

I watched both Bolton games last season. Davies was crap. Big Sam put Ouijar on him down there and he looked like a pub player. The one chance he got around the back IIRC he miscontrolled it. He first touch is awful, no pace. Pound for Pound, goal for goal worse than Jason Roberts and thattakes some doing. He had no talent back then and it would be a disgrace if the club wasted £5 on a 32 old year with no sell on and high wages. Anymore lunatic thoughts and I want Sam out.

Now even Zigic is gone, after speaking he wants to stay in valencia. Now whats next, this has got to be a real bad transfer window, 2 strikers out, none came in. :(

you're speaking like it's the end of the window

quit scare-mongering

what also have to be considered is that the guy coming in have to blend with the team mates. think that's even more important than EPL-experience. doesn't help signing messi if he don't get along with the other lads.

therefore I don't care too much about youtube. one of the reasons RSC made such an impact here is because he got along with sparky.

hope sammy finds some hungry bloke who'll bleed for the club.

I see a tall dark stranger...trouble is he plays for Pompey who want too much for him... ;)

Is this the point where you cross my palm with silver?
