RoverRich Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 Benfica are playing again tomorrow so maybe Sam is having a look at Cardozo. As for those talking about Kenny Cooper, he is linked with Bristol City this morning. Is that really the kind of player we need?

nicko Posted July 25, 2009 Author Posted July 25, 2009 As for those talking about Kenny Cooper, he is linked with Bristol City this morning. Is that really the kind of player we need? If it's the same Kenny Cooper who was at Man U as a kid the answer is definitely 'no.' Tommy was better.
Hughesy Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 You can closer to the striker target nicko? Do you know which game Sam is watching tomorrow?
chaddyrovers Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 nicko, have you found out where Big Sam is today? is he in austria looking at janko??????????
nicko Posted July 25, 2009 Author Posted July 25, 2009 I know for a fact what game it is now...and the target...and why the manager has been away... Won't be around until much later. So no PMs or requests. But it's worth the wait.
Hughesy Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 Been away......... Rules out the Barca/ Tottenham players
langhoblue Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 I know for a fact what game it is now...and the target...and why the manager has been away... Won't be around until much later. So no PMs or requests. But it's worth the wait. Big Tease..............!
Backroom Tom Posted July 25, 2009 Backroom Posted July 25, 2009 Nicko do you know what Big Sam is having for lunch today? At least things are moving now it seems.
BuckyRover Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 "It's worth the wait" I've heard that one before....
stewie Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 I see a tall dark stranger...trouble is he plays for Pompey who want too much for him... Is this the point where you cross my palm with silver? Saliva maybe, you can have some Silver if you tell me something I don't know! I'm guessing/hoping that Zat was sacrifced to fund Distin, or maybe to make up the short fall for someone really good! Nicko have you heard anything about Michael Turner is he Fulham bound?
Stoic Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 Nicko do you know what Big Sam is having for lunch today? At least things are moving now it seems. So a high-fibre meal then.
Al Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 Yeah, I totally agree with that. Five million would justify a move in my opinion in the current market. If we have to go to six or so then so be it but anything nearer to ten million would surely be a no-go. You may as well risk ten million on a younger player with sell on value if Bolton are asking for that much. For Christ's sake guys remember who you are talking about. It's that barrel of lard that we paid a fortune for then gave away for free who is now well into his 30's and is slower than ever. His club are askin £10 mil for him and we'd be lucky to get a season out of him before he ended up on the scrap heap. Stop believing all you are told and use your heads. He would be an out and out disaster. I'm a great believer in 'once bitten twice shy'.
Oklahoma Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 As a Benfica and Blackburn Rovers supporter, I'm quite divided in the Oscar Cardozo possible transfer. I think he will be great for Benfica this season, with Saviola and Aimar playing up front with him. I'm hoping for him to score 30 goals. He is also in conversations to extend his contract that, by now, ends in 2012. If he were to leave Benfica, I would love it to be for Blackburn Rovers. He is a very good striker, had a great left foot and his heading has improved much lately. However, I doubt Benfica are willing to sell him. Only a very big offer would make Benfica sell. I doubt they would sell for less than €20 million but I expect them to ask even more. As for Bruno Alves, as someone mentioned before, forget about it. FC Porto don't need to sell (they already made a lot of money by selling Lisandro Lopez, Lucho Gonzalez, Cissocko, Paulo Machado) and he has a release clause of €30 million.
BuckyRover Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 Luckily. JW has made some mistakes. But he won't make the mistake of re-signing Kevin Davies. As long as Sam is not at a Bolton or a Newcastle game, Ill be happy. Nicko loves making ordinarily sensible Blackburn fans lose their senses. I think he takes great pleasure in it (as would any Burnley fan)
Fife Rover Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 what also have to be considered is that the guy coming in have to blend with the team mates. think that's even more important than EPL-experience. doesn't help signing messi if he don't get along with the other lads. therefore I don't care too much about youtube. one of the reasons RSC made such an impact here is because he got along with sparky. hope sammy finds some hungry bloke who'll bleed for the club. He's already got one.....called Andrews. OK maddog, I do know what your meaning and I fully agree with you.
Kelbo Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 One who has not been mentioned on here is Besiktas striker Filip Holosko. great record and can play wide as well, 25 years old, only one year left on his contract!! Anybody know if Besiktas have a friendly today??
DeadlyDirk Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 One who has not been mentioned on here is Besiktas striker Filip Hološko. great record and can play wide as well, 25 years old, only one year left on his contract!! Anybody know if Besiktas have a friendly today?? They are away to Lyon at 7.30 in the 'Peace Cup' which I assume is a friendly tournament.
Kelbo Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 They are away to Lyon at 7.30 in the 'Peace Cup' which I assume is a friendly tournament. Oh, intersting, may be killing two birds with one stone here, doest Frédéric Piquionne play for Lyon??
frosty Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 doest Frédéric Piquionne play for Lyon?? Yep he does.
DeadlyDirk Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 Oh, intersting, may be killing two birds with one stone here, doest Frédéric Piquionne play for Lyon?? It's also Malaga vs Aston Villa at 9.30 in the 'Peace Cup', presumably played at the same stadium. Might even be having a look at Carew or one of the Malaga players, Baha is decent for them from what I remember, Forestieri is one to look out for,
Eddie Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 Oh, intersting, may be killing two birds with one stone here, doest Frédéric Piquionne play for Lyon?? Will he actually be playing? That is a bigger question. If Piquionne is our number one target then our scouts have messed up big time.
RibbleValleyRover Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 Will he actually be playing? That is a bigger question. If Piquionne is our number one target then our scouts have messed up big time. Shocking goalscoring record and is 30. I hope its not him...
DeadlyDirk Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 Well Yorkshire radio says that BFS is not at the game today because he is on a scouting mission in Russia?? Zenit are playing today, hope it's Pogrebenyak he's looking at!!
Yerotsluap Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 According to Yorkshire radio Allardyce is scouting in Russia
PAFELL Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 Will he actually be playing? That is a bigger question. If Piquionne is our number one target then our scouts have messed up big time. It has been mentioned on radio yorkshire prior to todays game that Sam is in Russia today scouting!!!!!!!!
