If we get POG @ 2m, what about Tuncay as attacking midfielder?

Where did the fee of £2m come from? Is it just speculation or something more concrete?

Anything under £5 million is a bargain for a striker of Pog's standing. This will hopefully free up funds to sign at least one top class central midfielder, maybe two?

I still remeber Pogrebnyak ripping the bayern defence a new arsehole in the waffa cup, he was fantastic that season. Hopefully we get him in on a knock down fee and can pick up a good quality central mindfielder. ps id love tom huddlestone here

to be honest, Poggy's ability is tied inseperably with the quality of service he is provided - Zenit's midfield is really decent. can our midfield actually provide this?

I still reckon that we have some money left for an attacking mid and that Tuncay would be a great signing for that position. Even though i think we need a box-box midfielder the most.

Pog, as he will now be known, for pronunciation and spelling sake if nothing else, fits the mould of a big target up front that Sam has been after all summer.

It is believed that discussions are at an advanced stage with his club, Zenit St. Petersburg and the player.

Unlike last time, it seems that the lad has had a change of heart and is now interested in coming.

The rumoured fee is a knockdown £2 million as Pog's contract expires in November, the end of the Russian league

I think we will all know more on that today...it will come down to the price...if Rovers can 'nick' him for a low fee then it could happen.

However I am hearing horror stories about what the Russians want. If that is so then this trip may have been a waste of time.

I'd take Mido at 2M, undoubted talent, and would be a real threat if our backroom staff could get his head screwed on straight.

Would still expect another striker, though, and as Eddie just mentioned, we really, really need to address the midfield.

If we can get him for a cheapish fee then he would have a decent resale value if he does well. I have no problem with him seeing us as a stepping stone to a bigger club move in the future, he will have to play well for clubs to be interested so we will benefit from it.

Its going to be interested to see what Zenit want for him, 3 months left of his contract (and from what i gather doesn't want to sign a new one as he wants a new challenege) they should be happy with what they get you would think...
