alexanders Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 Don't think I have seen us linked with this guy before. I don't know if it us or Bolton though who are interested Bolton aiming for Angulo / Sam after target Good job by the Mirror who haven't found out that Sam is Blackburn's manager. Nice mix up. Can you shed any light on this Nicko?

nicko Posted July 26, 2009 Author Posted July 26, 2009 Any idea why Samba didnt play yesterday? Back twinge apparently. Grella had a twinge too...there's a shock.
T4E Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 Back twinge apparently. Grella had a twinge too...there's a shock. That's a relief. I wonder if Grella could teach Andrews a thing or two?

Can you shed any light on this Nicko? I hope you do get him, he has the type of record I like to see from a Rovers striker. Played 314 scored 43 for Valencia Played 11 scored 0 for Spain

The Gull Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 I believe Angulo is a winger rather than a striker anyway
alexanders Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 9.01 According to reports in the News of the World, Arsenal are ready to make a £7million for Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou. What about this, will it affect the Di Santo move?

What about this, will it affect the Di Santo move? I don't think so. I don't think the Arsenal tale is right and Di Santo should be heading for Rovers once Chelsea get back in the next couple of days.
roversmum Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 Grella had a twinge too...there's a shock. Twinge??? I'll give him a twinge with a kick up the backside on his way to the pitch No wonder there's a rumour of the physio going to City - too much work for him at Rovers...
blue and whites Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 nicko: it sounds like the transfer fee is the stumbling block, can't understand that with 4months left on his contract. do you think they player has agreed personal terms with rovers and would like to come to the club?
Kelbo Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 Now had to wake a very tired son up to download this from his phone, no wind up, this was taken last night in the Fusion club Burnley!!
rovers1995 Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 Now had to wake a very tired son up to download this from his phone, no wind up, this was taken last night in the Fusion club Burnley!! What about the picture with zat knight/john carew
philipl Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 That's John Carew and Zat Knight??? Anyway, Poggy is 26. Seems not to suffer Robertsitis when in front of an open goal which will be a relief. And yes negotiating with Zenit is no walk in the woods.
DeadlyDirk Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 If we can negotiate a fee and because of his reluctancy to come here means he wants say 80k or so a week (More than we've ever paid I assume) do we pay it and simply say it's a sign of the times, or does it risk setting a precedant for future and mean current players and future players might start asking for silly wages. Tricky one when JW wanted to cut the wage bill apparantley and we also have 3 first team contracts to renew shortly. Hopefully we can hide a big portion in a signing on fee and get him on a decent fee, now all we need to do is try and negotiate a fee with those sneaky russians..... Out of all the targets come up this summer he looks as good as any of them to me, all of them have their doubts and at least this one can hopefully be a lower fee and he would still have that much loved re-sale value when he's only 25.

I'll give him a twinge with a kick up the backside on his way to the pitch No wonder there's a rumour of the physio going to City - too much work for him at Rovers... So he's gone to work with Croque and Carlos "injured in the shower" Tevez
bob fleming Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 Kelbo - sorry but that's clearly a cardboard cut out. Of your lad. I believe Downing was there but not Kelbo Jr.
Hi Mack Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 Now had to wake a very tired son up to download this from his phone, no wind up, this was taken last night in the Fusion club Burnley!! Is that Stuart Downing? What the fook is he doing in Dingleland?Maybe theyve got him on Loan until December!
deftangel Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 Wet Spammer down here seemed to think they were signing Di Santo, or at least getting some young striker from Chelsea. Take it there's nothing in that Nicko?
Ricky Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 to be fair kelbo did say it was Downing from the start, the confusion is over who he was there with.
Roversider Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 Pavel Pogrebnyak - hmmm - there are a few fors and againsts if he comes. For: He is available. He looks the sort of player who would fit Sam's style, reasonable physical presence although only 6 feet tall, bit smaller than Crouch or Zigic. Scoring record is acceptable at all levels of competition without being breathtaking but 5 goals in 14 international outings isn't bad. Remember he shared top scorer in '07-'08 UEFA Cup with Luca Toni with 10 goals, pretty good for me. Thought he played well when I saw him turn out for Russia, lots of workrate. Reasonable fitness record turning out most seasons, most of the time. Price should be fine given his contract is due to expire. Would leave some cash for other players or reserve for the January window. Against: Turned us down in January - apparently. Not Sam's first choice to replace Santa Cruz - apparently. Never played outside of Russia and clearly untried in the Premiership. Difficult to pronounce name. Oh, he turned us down in January (I know I've said that twice, but it deserves repeating) Opinion: Worth a gamble if he comes cheap enough, maximum £2 million preferable £1 million or less. Then add some more quality to the squad where we can.

I know his contracts up in November but you cant buy a untested youngster for 1M never mind a proven International goalscorer!
Torgeir Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 Opinion: Worth a gamble if he comes cheap enough, maximum £2 million preferable £1 million or less. Then add some more quality to the squad where we can. He's an internation striker for Russia who had a terrific EURO 08 last summer. He was even first choice before he got injured ahead of Pavlyuchenko. Anything below £5 million is a steal for this guy, even if his contract does run out in November.
