Been busy all right...driving a pigging motor.

No idea about these two names that have come up. One is a Portuguese trialist, the other possibly coming in - but maybe has four other destinations.

Interesting to see if either play at Leigh tonight...going to have to go and find out.

Oh, and by the way. The 11 o'clocker will be worthwhile.

Nice one, looking foward to it, I'm going insane.

Should be around 11 o'clock tonight, might be a bit earlier, might be a bit later ;)

Surely this 11 o' clocker has to be the yay or nay from Chelsea regarding Di Santo as Nicko said that today would indeed be D-day.

I'm sure that won't stop 200 members asking Nicko ad nauseum about it.

Nicko, nothing on this Ghilas chap?

Mixed reports, but have an open mind on that one...

By the way, Jerome Rothen looks like going from PSG to Fiorentina...obviously no mug.

Got to say he has more about him than some being mentioned lately.

We are having an open mind ;)

Have you heard that he is about to sign?

Let's just wait and see on that one. I think we've dodged a very slow bullet.

I've got an open mind about whether deal happens or not because it doesn't fit with anything that has been talked about lately.

Sam keeps going on about signing strikers...and he has two on the boil...then this guy pops up from nowhere. Very odd.

He may be good, bad or indifferent, I don't know. But if he is signing this quick where does it leave the search for a top striker and taking Di Santo on loan?

Master at work those two.

I hope everyone paid close attention to that clip and can note all the missed opportunities there,

i'm sure we could have all handled it a bit better, eh?

I think I rather resemble that short, porty fellow.:lol:

You would think that if Di Santo and this Algerian player comes in then that's it in terms of our striking options. Where the rest of the cash goes who knows... My money is on Sam keeping it for January, whether its all there come that time we will have to wait and see...

I'd be surprised if any more is spent on the midfield considering the number of players we have in those positions and the fact that Andrews signed a new contract.

Wasn't there supposed to be 3 strikers coming in though? Supposedly 2 before Derbsy left and then a replacement for Roque.

Our Money has a knack of disappearing between transfer windows!

My only thought on the Algerian is that he might fit into a 4-3-3...or push Morten as a left winger. Can't see him as a central striker with all of the other moves being made.

And I also thought the money was being kept back for a top striker.

Transfer windows obviously change opinions and plans very fast.

Lets say Di Santo and Ghilas come in, thats leaves us with:

Di Santo

Ghilas

Benni

Roberts

Gally

Diouf can also play up front in emergencies, as can Samba and Hoilett.

I can't see another striker coming in. 5 is the usual number needed for a side that's playing in the Champions League or Europa League, we aren't and we already have that.

I see the point of a 4-3-3, especially with the likes of Van Heerden, Diouf and Hoilett in the side, but as far as i know we have been playing 2 up front throughout preseason, surely Sam would have tried it out if he was planning to play that system in the league? On the top striker thing i agree, i think i've personally made it clear who i'd like to see come in but its looking like money and more specifically value for money is playing a big factor in that.

My greatest fear is that we have a huge wedge of cash left over and Sam decides to spend it in January (foolish anyways imo as the January market is even more inflated) but when he comes to spend it, he finds out its not all there. We have the best chance in years to really strengthen the side but i fear we will waste it...
