Hi Mack Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Lets say Di Santo and Ghilas come in, thats leaves us with: Di Santo Ghilas Benni Roberts Gally Diouf can also play up front in emergencies, as can Samba and Hoilett. I can't see another striker coming in. 5 is the usual number needed for a side that's playing in the Champions League or Europa League, we aren't and we already have that. RVR Gally did not do himself any good vs Leeds! He was very poor....I think BS has just put him in the shop window through pre-season. By saying he might have a future at the club puts his price up a little. IF we get Di Santo and Ghilas.....its a big gamble to expect them to do the business for us!
Dunnfc Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 No one think this could be the midfield/striker line up? Dunn Grella MGP Ghilas Target Man Diouf very similar to how bilton played . Oh sam has a record for making the media think they are looking at such and such when hes looking at someone else, thats what theyv'e been saying on a bolton forum, the-wanderer anyways.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 11 tonight...get the popcorn. You know whats coming,Villa sign him,Spurs sign that......Rovers still looking for a striker! Altogether now Rovers fans.... OH WE ARE SINGING,JUST SIGN US SOMEONE! OH WE ARE SINGING, JUST SIGN US SOMEONE!!!!!!
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 I predict fireworks between Ancelotti and the higher ups at Chelsea. If Di Santo had agreed, I'm sure Nicko would just blurt it out.
Backroom Tom Posted July 28, 2009 Backroom Posted July 28, 2009 This Algerian lad looks promising if true but for some reason I can't see it happening. Hope Hoilett and Elrio get a good run out tonight along with Gally and Blackman as a front 4 chopping and changing.
Kelbo Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 My only thought on the Algerian is that he might fit into a 4-3-3...or push Morten as a left winger. Can't see him as a central striker with all of the other moves being made. And I also thought the money was being kept back for a top striker. Transfer windows obviously change opinions and plans very fast. I can see him playing in the hole behind a striker!!!
PAFELL Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 I've got an open mind about whether deal happens or not because it doesn't fit with anything that has been talked about lately. Sam keeps going on about signing strikers...and he has two on the boil...then this guy pops up from nowhere. Very odd. He may be good, bad or indifferent, I don't know. But if he is signing this quick where does it leave the search for a top striker and taking Di Santo on loan? You said the 11 O'clocker was worth waiting for - is this 'other news' than Di Santo?
John Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 But if he is signing this quick where does it leave the search for a top striker and taking Di Santo on loan? Suggests the update later on is not about Di Santo or a striker coming in.....
The Rover of Finland Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Hugely disappointed if Di Santo doesn´t come Ewood. It must have been early June when there was Mr. X and lot of excitement. Hope it turns to be worth for all this. Nicko, early hint about 11 clocker?
DeadlyDirk Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Maybe it's worth the wait and there is a hold up because we've tried to pursue him on a permanent deal? Just thought I'd try and be optomistic for once!!
Backroom Tom Posted July 28, 2009 Backroom Posted July 28, 2009 Rovers putting in an offer for a permanent deal makes no sense from either side really. Chelsea wouldn't want to lose him and certainly not for cheap.
accyrover Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 TrueBlue2009 - 23.00 hrs. If the 11 o clocker sounds promising then i'm assuming that Di Santo is at home packing his bags for a trip up t'north. Lets hope he didn't miss the turn off on the M65 and been kidnapped by the Banjo Boys down the road Accyrover
BiggusLaddus Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Di santo, Di santo, WHERE FOR ART THOU DI SANTO!? Because that was his father's family name. Wherefore are thou doesn't mean what you think it does, she is talking to herself and asking why the man she loves has to be a Montague. HTH.
accyrover Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 With all due respect to Nicko, who is clearly a man in the know, I hope this isn't another false dawn. First it was Di Santo (yet to happen), then Zigic (consensus is not good enough), then Jones (probably staying at Sunderland), now Poggy (unlikely due to price) - none of which have come to fruition. Each one announced as the next great signing and the answer to all our striker woes. I'd just like a bit of positive news for a change. Anyway, I'm off to Italy for a week tomorrow so I hope to God we have a new striker in by the time I get back. Accyrover

Hope it turns to be worth for all this. Nicko, early hint about 11 clocker? I've a horrible feeling it will be about Warnock going to Villa and I've a hunch that Samba will be in his report being linked with e.g. Spurs. Nothing to back the Samba bit up apart from worry!
John Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 I hope this isn't another false dawn. False dawns is what keep this thread going.
Stuart Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Think we may have found our Tugay replacement folks : Watch the first few seconds of this video. It's the maestro re-born, just youunger. Just like we always wanted!!!! ...................Toogs.........................................Kamel......... Yeah, I can see what you mean.

Sir Ranulf Westwood Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 My mate Hickey a life long Chelsea lad, with decent connections rekons Di santo is not at all keen on leaving London. He would rather go on loan to a lesser club and remain in the capital.
PAFELL Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Suggests the update later on is not about Di Santo or a striker coming in..... May be dingles gone into administration - 12 points
