Much of the stuff has seaped out during the day anyway, so here goes...

DARREN BENT...Sunderland bid now up to £12m, Spurs now willing to take £16 million...still a way apart but can't see any way Rovers are going to nick in there...he wants to move for first-team football but I hear he would prefer to stay down south.

STEPHANE M'BIA...Stoke gone bonkers...bid £10 million...he;s over talking...Everton might yet come back into this one, but a shocker nonetheless...Rovers were never in that race...it was M'Bami not M'BIa who was being watched...and he hasn't got a club yet before you ask.

ANDY VAN DER MEYDE...shock horror...looking good in training...that can't last surely.

KENWYNE JONES...not interested in Radio Lancashire denials...he is on the hot list.

KEITH ANDREWS...the price is £3 million...that could happen unless Fulham come to their senses and realise it's too much.

YOUR NEIGHBOURS...new bid in for Brian Easton at Hamilton...Pancrate has been, gone and won't be back.

There's some Kyle Naughton and Samuel Eto'o news but it does not concern you.

If Fulham bid £3,000,000 for Andrews, I would bite there hand off, versatile yes but as the saying goes, Jack of all trades!!

For £3,000,000 we could buy much better footballers than Keith Andrews.

So there is no chance of us going after Eto'o?? Drat!!!

Thanks for the other news nicko, any idea on the price for Jones? He can certainly be the big man BFS wants, I've always liked him when he first came on the scene but his career seems to have stalled a bit now. Maybe BFS can get the best out of him again if the price is right.

Not fussed either way about Van Der Meyde, it's a free transfer, if he continues to do well and show a will to want to try and play football again then stick him on a pay as you play deal, little to lose there then. It might be a longshot for him but afterall it will be world cup year which may motivate him a bit.

M'Bia deal seems to show how inflated prices are right now but I haven't seen him enough to say if he is worth that figure, no way we were going to go in at that price anyway.

So have we quoted 3m for Andrews as in we would sell him? Decent business I guess, circa 2m profit on him, but I think he's a decent squad player, always seems to be fit, may not be everyone's favourite but at least he isn't always on the treatment table, don't think we could turn down 3m on him though, gives us a bit more to spend, just have to take a bit of a chance on the fitness of Reid, Grella, Dunn, Emerton etc and the progress of N'Zonzi and Judge etc.

So is Eto'o City bound or is there some new news there?

I'd like to see a player purchased for £3,000,000 who proves to be better performing than Andrews last season. He's not the best but his goals and goal saving blocks and last ditch tackles (yes he did make them) saved us much more than what he cost us last season. A decent squad player.

£3m plus Danny Murphy and we'd have the decent footballer you speak of plus £3m in or pockets. Thats the deal i'd push for.

Wishful thinking on your part. There is no way we would let go of our captain and one of our best players.

Danny Murphy is just the type of player Rovers need but I wonder what his wagers are??

Nicko was Easton not linked to Hibs, and also linked with a surprise move to Rangers?

Also you do know that Van Der Meyde was once a very good player, with Madrid, Milan and Bayern Munich linked at one point. His career has gone backwards at an alarming rate, but the talent is there, just need to get the commitment and passion back, as well as the desire to do well.

I am prone to the odd bout of wishful thinking ffan! You will know more about this than me, but wasn;t he out of contract? Has he signed new terms yet?

Exactly, he was your best player last year I'd say, everything went through him, I can see why you want Andrews, he can do all the running so Murphy doesn't have too and can just ping passes around.

He had a clause in his contract at the beginning of last season stating that if he played a certain number of games he would be entitled to a new one year contract. He signed a new one year deal in January.

I have always thought so. I've called for us to sign him for the last 2-3 summers. I think he's got one of the best football brains in the EPL. I know he's no spring chicken, but he doesn't need to be. The closest thing to Tugay about in my mind. I know he doesn't play as deep, but you get my point.

And there ends my spell of wishful thinking.................

STEPHANE M'BIA...Stoke gone bonkers...bid £10 million...he's over talking - I HOPE HE LIKES HEADING THE BALL

ANDY VAN DER MEYDE...shock horror...looking good in training...that can't last surely - WHERE WOULD THIS LEAVE VAN HEERDEN? STRANGE

KEITH ANDREWS...the price is £3 million...that could happen unless Fulham come to their senses and realise it's too much - HAS TO GO AT THAT PRICE, INTERNATIONAL OR NOT

There's some Kyle Naughton and Samuel Eto'o news but it does not concern you - EVERTON AND MAN CITY??

Van der Mayde is a winger. Makes really wonder how bad van Heerden is.

Van Heerden was very good against Spain. 1st season he will probably come off the bench, to inject some pace when the oppostion are tired

Maybe Sam is thinking Emerton was right wing option, but now he's going to move him to the middle, therefore freeing up a role as back-up for the right??

Be positive eh!

i wouldnt say very good, he played his part in a goal and made a decent maybe good impact coming off the bench, but i wouldnt say very good. most papers only rated him 6/7 for the game too
