jamiebrfc Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 Van Der Meyde, Vieri Van heerden N'zoni Jacobsen How Did We Beat The Competition For These World Beaters. Van Hasselink and probably zamora or carlton cole but k.jones is out of our league so too bent looks like another season of B.F.Sams ANTI-Football I presume your another Sam-hater, perhaps you'll be happy to publicly state that Ince deserved more time, wearing a daft hat and being described as a 'degenerate?

roversfan1 Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 No harm in having a look at Van der Meyde. Got a mate works for local paper here in Liverpool and the lads nickname is 'shandy' for a reason...would be a waste of whatever wages we paid him!
Blue blood Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 In fact each of the signings is a potential improvement on who we have. van Heerden - did we actually have a pacy winger? Can't think of one. Maybe Tracey (will be hard for him not to be an improvement on Tracey). If not, then gap in the squad filled. N'zoni - potential to be better than Mokoena. If he can accurately pass over 5 yards, he's already one up on Mokoena. Jacobsen - bit unsure on this one, as Ooijer did well last season. But is a lot younger, and naturally a rb which is where the cover is more needed then cb so on paper it looks an improvement. As stated however, he'll have to perform well as thought Ooijer did well at rb last season, despite his lack of pace.
BarrowOfCroft Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 Are you a dingle? No Me Laddo Just Gettin A bit Depressed Have You Seen Any Van Der Meyde footage Last Season We Had To Survive Now With Money In the bank you Think Sam Would broaden his horizon's Id Love Us To Play With Two Forwards Instead Of One Big Lump.
doctorryan Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 Perhaps £3m for Andrews would move things along with regards to Rothen.
beerwins Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 Why are toon fans even reading this board anymore? dont they have to update their sat navs?? here's a number for ya 01302 762 576 its nothing to do with the takeover, its doncasters ticket office. Enjoy your fizzy pop.

Seems Ive put The Wind In Peoples Sails I just Think We Should Try And Improve upon last season. Not settle for it again. Strike Me Down For Wanting Better.
LeChuck Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 People might take it a lot better if you stop overusing capital letters.
bringdunnback Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 I just realised today, probably pointless fact but van Heerden and Jacobsen were teammates at Copenhagen but did van Heerden play a part in Jacobsen coming to Rovers.
hi-jaq Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 Saw a post earlier that stated that we should sell Keith Andrews for £3m to Fulham because we could buy better with that kind of money... The only confusing point for me here is that if we could buy a better player for that money, why are Fulham sniffing around & not buying the better player/s that we can supposedly get. Now I'm no Keith Andrews fan, but he did a decent job for us & I for one appreciate his attitude & commitment. For me though, if Fulham bid £3m, they can have him!!! This makes me wonder about a possible replacement & having read the list earlier about players without clubs, there is one stand out name that makes me wonder why he isn't being signed up & that is Maniche. This would be the direct Tugay replacement. He has everything required to do the business, and he proved it at Chelsea the other season, he's not too old either, I dont think. Andrews out, Maniche in... sounds like a step in the correct direction to me (in terms of quality anyway!!!) As Nicko says there must be quite a bit happening at the moment and things should start moving pretty quickly, so I suppose we have to wait & see what happens, but Maniche would be a good bit of business in my opinion. (There is one other name that intrests me on that list too, Claudio Maldonado, Chilean defensive midfielder, seen him in play once or twice and he looked quite good, maybe worth a trial)

DavidMailsTightPerm Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 Seems Ive put The Wind In Peoples Sails I just Think We Should Try And Improve upon last season. Not settle for it again. Strike Me Down For Wanting Better. Big transfer fees don't necessarily mean success - ask any Newcastle fan. Patience is the key - Givet was an excellent sigining - our new flying winger and central midfield player will be a case of wait and see. Vieri - well nothing to lose I guess. Jakobson will be a better right back than we had last season - or do you prefer Simpson or Andrews ? When you consider that RSC hardly played last season - we are probably stronger already than we were last season (given available players). If come the end of the transfer window we are still in this same position - I will be worried - but there is a way to go yet.
nicko Posted July 9, 2009 Author Posted July 9, 2009 Just a small observation on the Andrews thing... Most managers want to get their own players in as soon as possible. Andrews wasn't a Sam signing, so if he can move him out and bring in a player he wants with the cash then it will probably happen. If Rovers get the full £3 million it is a no-brainer.

Nicko any news on Naughton. Eto'o and possibly Delph?
Steve Moss Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 Barton's pure poison!! He hasn't learned to control his temper and will only do so after he receives counseling. . . . Counseling only helps those who want to be helped. Barton has shown no signs of wanting to improve his behavior. I agree. Barton is poison and should be avoided.
ShyTalk Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 Wasn't there a rumour about Naughton going to Man City a few weeks ago? Wouldn't surprise me if both he and Eto'o end up at Shitelands tomorrow.
tcj_jones Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 I just realised today, probably pointless fact but van Heerden and Jacobsen were teammates at Copenhagen but did van Heerden play a part in Jacobsen coming to Rovers. Cheers for that. I don't suppose you know if they played together down the right flank, do you? Maybe Sam had this in mind when bringing them both in?
LDRover Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 You know what? Transfer windows are crap. All the conjecture, rumour, counter rumour and we'll end up with someone who we all argue about anyway. I remember feeling excited when we signed Howard Gayle on a free in 1987, can't even get remotely interested these days - what will be will be. Sod it.
67splitscreen Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 It wasn't a rogue email, you utter halfwit. It was a post on a Newcastle message board which underneath, hidden in white letters, contained the sentence "See I can make stuff up too." Been a while since I've been on this place, I can't believe these buggers are still putting up with you. You're a poor man's Walter Mitty man. Probably be a while before your back again after that post. missing the premier league all ready, still should be a nice day out in Blackpool, if you win that is.
Oklahoma Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 Maybe Sam should take a look at these: Diego Lugano Maniche Marko Pantelic Fernando Morientes Lucas Neill Camel Meriem Modeste M'Bami Georgios Seitaridis Stephen Appiah Boudewijn Zenden Hasan Sas Emerson Ivan Helguera Leandro Damian Cufre Ricardo Rocha Claudio Maldonado Gustavo Varela
Brfcrule1 Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 weren't we interested in Fatih tekke before? could be a good back-up for Derbs still young so could do a job
Oklahoma Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 weren't we interested in Fatih tekke before? could be a good back-up for Derbs still young so could do a job Tekke already signed for Zenit St. Petersburg.
