Cheers for that. I don't suppose you know if they played together down the right flank, do you? Maybe Sam had this in mind when bringing them both in?

I havent a clue but they both played in this game and celebrate together at around 15 seconds so reckon they know each other quite well.

Last Season We Had To Survive

Now With Money In the bank you Think Sam Would broaden his horizon's

Id Love Us To Play With Two Forwards Instead Of One Big Lump.

I think we will improve - Sam did well in the Jan transfer window and I think so far he has shown alot of sense in this window too.

Givet is a solid player, proven he can do it - now signed

Added pace to the squad - Van Herden, Holiette

Added abit more youth and potential to our 1st team squad - NZonzi, Holiette

Added a specialist right back - Jacobsen

Reducing the average age of the squad so far too.

Give him time eh!

Maybe Sam should take a look at these:

Maniche - You must be his agent

Lucas Neill - Remember him running to the blackburn end and cupping his ear?? NO WAY!

Modeste M'Bami - Looked, obviously not keen

Georgios Seitaridis - How many times you going to try selling him? Are you his agent?

Stephen Appiah - Harry hasnt signed him - enough said

Boudewijn Zenden - he was crap 2 years ago - no thanks

Can't really credit Sam with Hoilett as he's been here for years, hopefully he'll make an impact with the first team this season though.

He has only just turned 19 though, there aren't many 19 year olds playing in the Premier League. I think this season be a bit of an anti-climax for us, it might be a case of building him up physically this year in the reserves.

This year is just sub appearances surely - however if he has that special something then he should sparkle even then.

You cant credit Sam with signing him, but you can credit him seeing his ability and getting that permit request in - Ince or Hughes didnt try bringing him into the 1st team squad.

Ince was probably blissfully unaware he even existed! But for Hughes i think it was probably a little to early to consider.

Lets just hope he's worth all the fuss.

I think you're right Hughsey. The refreshing thing this year is Sam is seeking to improve areas us fans have seen need sorting. When i think back to last summer and the signings we brought in. I began to question my own take on things. I actually felt like perhaps my views were so wide of the mark because i couldn't understand Ince's ideas on where the squad needed strengthening. This year is our business has been well thought out and fits with what the majority seem to think we need.

Its really good to see. I know we've not made any big signings yet. But bit by bit you can see the balance of the squad building nicely.

Sam and his team have obviously noted Hoillet is worth the fuss and put together a big case to get him on board

Agree. Cant believe people on here are pro Barton, because they believe he can do a job for us. Every club who has signed him, thought the same and well he cocked it up.i dont want Barton, because its about keeping this club intact, and not allow this one guy to disrupt, destroy and turn us into a joke.

every club? he was at city as a kid then moved to newcastle.... you make it sound like he played for many teams....

he is better than what we have.... he messed up a few times but im sure he has learnt his lesson give the guy a chance...

Not sure if this name has come up yet? Can't say i've ever heard of him. Also not a great source.

Was mentioned yesterday, and also linked with us in the French Press.

PLays a left winger for Valenciennes.

Good to hear from the experts on french football (Eddie / Gumboots) if this guy will be a decent back-up for Gamst or go straight into the first XI.,

You know what? Transfer windows are crap.

All the conjecture, rumour, counter rumour and we'll end up with someone who we all argue about anyway.

I remember feeling excited when we signed Howard Gayle on a free in 1987, can't even get remotely interested these days - what will be will be.

Sod it.

AHHHHHHH those were the days before tinternet - whilst there may have been a rumour in tap room, you never knew until Peter White broke the news in the LET.

Happy Days when players had names you could pronounce

Messed up a few times? There are many players who have messed up, but went back and screwed their heads on properly, knuckled down and gained the respect again. Barton has been messing up, and been given chance after chance to sort himself out. Has he sorted himself out? No! You talk about giving the lad a chance, yet you hardly giving Andrews a chance just because he has less ability than Barton. Im sorry but you doing my head in now with this Barton stuff.

Iceman - some people have a different opinion than you on Barton, respect it, it doesn`t mean they are wrong, or you are wrong its just a different view poitn than yours. Just because you don`t feel he deserves another chance because of the idiotic antics that Barton has done countless times at Citey and the barcodes, doen`t mean to say that there are other supporters on here who shouldn`t allow him another chance.

Some of these people posting about Andrews are not slaggign him off, they are sayign that his ability isn`t as good as Barton`s, which I think we all agree on, however the point people are tryign to make, is that if we got 3 million for Andrews, then its good business and we should take it - that again is peoples opinions which may differ from yours.

For what its worth, if Barton could come to Rovers and behave, have a golden halo above his head so he could do no wrong in an ideal world, then he would improve our team - whether he would **ck up again is anyones guess and at the end of teh day, any club that takes Barton and his reputation are taking a educated gamble

I agree and think that clubs like ours have to be prepared to take such a gamble because players with his ability are usually a ) out of our price range and B ) have offers from bigger / more attractive clubs - it is only when something has gone wrong and they have f*cked up that their price and choice of clubs gets smaller! It means that we take a gamble and if it doesnt come off then we havent wasted alot of money but if it does we get a decent player that can be sold on for profit!

I trust Sam and his team and if they think that they can take Barton on and keep him out of trouble then thats good enough for me. Yes he may not be liked but there are plenty of fans at other clubs who wouldnt want Bellamy, Savage or Diouf but they came to us and did a decent job...

So you can actually tell if he's using an iPhone, for instance, from his IP address? What if he logs onto his own wireless network using his phone? Sorry for being a geek, but I just thought it sounded strange.

Iphones don't put a capital letter at the start of each work automatically. In fact, I don't know of a phone that does. But I've not used every phone out there.

Pretty much how I see it.

Now the fans can all see we need at least 1 good striker + 1 other striker (Di Santo) and another midfielder - im sure Sam sees the same things. He also knows that if he gets £3m for Andrews then he would be daft not to sell and replace with a better midfielder.

Daily Express: "Martin O'Neill is facing a battle to keep striker John Carew at Aston Villa as Tottenham prepare a £5million bid. "

This should be a no-brainer if he's available for just £5m. Much better than the other Premier League stikers we've been linked to thus far (IMO). He's good mates with Gamst, which could be important if we were to make a move for him.

Edit: I almost hope that the £5m price is the work of a lazy journo. Bargain of the year if someone actually gets him for that price.

I agree.

IF we are looking for a target man, this should be him! Has experience from Turkish Superleague, Valencia, AS Roma etc

He is strong as a bear and scores a fair share of goals.

Problem is he would be more interested in London nightlife than nightclubs like Heaven/Hell in Blackburn.
