I would like us to show some real interest in a top class striker,talk of Jones,Beattie,Davies etc coming to Ewood does nothing for me.

Maybe that is what Sam means when he comments about the club backing him if targets do become available.

There seems to be an air of "we can't get top players here" from some of the fans. We've done it in the past and we can do it again. It's just too easy settling for the Jones's, Beattie's and Davies's.

Fernandes joines St. Etienne. Shame, I thought he would have been brilliant in our midfield, just the sort of box-to-box robust player we are missing.

Errr...robust...box to box midfielder..??? Fernandes is a light weight which is why he's signed for St Etienne. Wouldn't have made an ounce of difference to our midfield.

For the person who asked earlier; Fraizer Campbell IS joining Sunderland. Phil Brown has just confirmed SAF has just rang him to say when Campbell returns from Barbados he will be joining Sunderland.

Strange one as he'll be on the bench behind Crouch and Bent. Apparently Fergie even advised Campbell that Hull City would be a better option for his career.

Iceman - some people have a different opinion than you on Barton, respect it, it doesn`t mean they are wrong, or you are wrong its just a different view poitn than yours. Just because you don`t feel he deserves another chance because of the idiotic antics that Barton has done countless times at Citey and the barcodes, doen`t mean to say that there are other supporters on here who shouldn`t allow him another chance.

Some of these people posting about Andrews are not slaggign him off, they are sayign that his ability isn`t as good as Barton`s, which I think we all agree on, however the point people are tryign to make, is that if we got 3 million for Andrews, then its good business and we should take it - that again is peoples opinions which may differ from yours.

For what its worth, if Barton could come to Rovers and behave, have a golden halo above his head so he could do no wrong in an ideal world, then he would improve our team - whether he would **ck up again is anyones guess and at the end of teh day, any club that takes Barton and his reputation are taking a educated gamble

Give it a rest will you. Im sure the kids will love Barton as their new role model. Anyway, he hasnt signed so lets keep it that way. Steven Pienaar is 10 times better than Barton :-) so lets sign him. In fact, Maniche is available on a free, but hey ho, we want Barton.

I don't know why anyone thinks we can get him for peanuts, he's on £65k a week at Newcastle. The only way we'll get him for peanuts is if a] Newcastle fire him (too late for that surely), or b] Newcastle contribute to his wages a la Leeds.

I honestly don't think either of those will happen now. Barton has said he's happy at Newcastle, so he'll either go to somewhere like Sunderland who can afford his wages or stay put.

If we are the stepping stone for Sam's managerial career, then obviously he will care about the fortunes of the club.

As Nicko said before, Hull City were offering daft money to him. I heard £40-45k a week was offered. I doubt Sunderland have offered that.

I think Zamora is more of a Fortune/Davies alternative rather than Campbell. But I get what you mean - other than those with daft amounts of money to spend (Sunderland, Man City e.t.c.) oh and Martinez at Wigan just buying his ex-players, it seems everyone is struggling to buy in the Prem this year. Rovers, Hull City, Fulham e.t.c. seem to be getting priced out of deals due to inflated prices, clubs with money are waiting for others to move to get their own targets and the likes of Bolton, Aston Villa and Everton just seem to be going at things with a steady pace.
