I couldn't care less if Allardyce has BWFC tattooed on his arse-cheeks, the man deserves credit for saving our bacon last season.

From Dudley so it's probable that his home team would be Wolverhampton Wanderers. Therefore I expect an inspection of his bum cheeks with Sam touching his toes would likely spell WoW.

Not sure if this has been discussed at all, but some interesting quotes from Peter Crouch's agent today.

Jonathan Barnett -

"I think Portsmouth have financial problems. I think every player is available.

"You would have to speak to Portsmouth to see if they are willing to sell Peter. He doesn't feel he's been let down, though. He has a great relationship with Portsmouth. He doesn't feel let down at all.

"We haven't heard anything from Milan or anyone at this stage.

"He's a Portsmouth player, he likes the club and thinks a lot of Peter Storrie and Paul Hart.

"He is happy, but if there are circumstances where he has to move, that is football I'm afraid.

"If Portsmouth were to receive an offer from somebody then we would have to listen to it."

Should be of interest to Big Sam that news, if he didn't know already.

Nicko, do you know if it is possible to get Aron Ramsey on loan from Arsenal?

Would be a good addition to our squad.

he just signed a new long term contract with arsenal. i know that doesn't mean anything as far as loans are concerned, but i do believe wenger has him in his plans for first team action this year.

I have refrained from posting here today, apart from Denise Hendry thread, but I will answer for Nicko, who earlier in the day stated that out of respect for Colin and His Family, he would refrain from posting on here for a while.

On behalf of all Rovers Supporters and indeed proper people everywhere, understand and appreciate your considerations for Colin and his family!!

Thanks Nicko

I'll keep it brief because my heart has not been in it today.

M'BAMI - is supposed to be on his way to Portsmouth but it is probably a c'ome on' for other clubs...you may react to this one...he was always a possible pre-season trial job.

M'BIA - still not signed for Stoke...big personal demands.

NAUGHTON - Everton in pole position, but could be a late rival.

ETO'O - Man City deal collapsed which would be hilarious most other days.

Thanks Nicko, if you do speak to the big man at any stage would you be kind enough to let him know he's in the thoughts of all the Rovers fans at this time. Not that anything can be any consolation right now.

Just something I found myself thinking about this evening...

Stuttgart is about to bid about £18million for Klaas-Jan Huntelaar. Based on what I thought we had at the start of the transfer window (~£20million) and seeing as we haven't even used most of it yet, why haven't we logged a bid? Surely the trust could be persuaded to kick in the rest of the fee and there's no way (imo) that Stuttgart is as near as big a club as Rovers. I don't even consider Germany an elite football league yet.

I do not know if Stuttgart is a very rich club that could offer him huge wages, but it seems Real Madrid needs to move some people for a little under market value. It would be huge in my opinion if we were to sign him.

But I could be wrong...

I think he'll sign for United considering they've shown interest in him before.

Stuttgart won the German league 2 seasons ago, and finished 3rd this season. Pretty sure they're bigger than us...

Bundesliga has always been counted as one of the best leagues in Europe and is probably getting better now, there's a plethora of quality players playing there. Huntelaar would be completely out of our league.

No way we will be able to pay 18mill on 1 player, plus pay him huge wages. Stuttgart will be in Europe, and the German league aint that bad. Man United also wants or wanted Huntelaar, as did both Milans. I suppose Rovers has a slight chance though.
