Despite Nicko's modest claims that his naming Zigic would be lost amidst cricket and the Open, it appears his story has caused the domino effect culminating in Zigic's 'agent' coming out and saying Blackburn hasn't contacted him yet.

I think it's got to the point where Nicko could claim we've somehow resurrected Uncle Jack and lured Shearer out of retirement and the other media outlets would believe it.

Of the times I've seen Zigic, which admittedly has been limited to one international tournament and occasional highlights, he has looked rubbish.

I doubt it. He has been available for clubs to take a chance on for years and nobody has.

Looking at the premiership, which is where he wants to come, there aren't many teams around us who have a need for his type of player and can afford him.

I don't think that clause was inserted. And I don't think it would ever kick in anyway. You got great money for him as events of the last year have confirmed.

No deal is ever easy, but I think you have as good a chance with Zigic as any of the strikers you have considered...nobody has made a serious bid yet and the shrewd play would be to go in low and wear them down...you would obviously need to get the player 'onside' too...whether it's with this agent who has spoken today or any of the other three or four who claim to represent him.

Zigic can be signed, all right, but it will cost a fair bit of cash...fortunately you have that just now.

Even if we could do this, and the player was up for it, I would have thought his wage demands would be too high. The club has made a point of lowering the wage bill, and I doubt we could afford him, even based on what we paid him before he left. I could be wrong, and I hope I am as it is a move I would love to happen.

It's time to part ways for rovers and gally. It seems every pre season for the last 3-4 seasons we been hoping we see a new gally, but its been the same all story. He sure must be wise enough to know that he isnt going to cut it in the prem and the championship is the next best thing for him.

He's simply is letting his talent go to waste by hanging round
